2 months ago I Bought vehicle for $4300 and found out 3 weeks ago that the frame is broken. The car is very squirrely on wet roads- no wonder? It's very dangerous and it's going to cost more than the car is worth to fix it.
The rear subframe is extremely rusted and breaking into pieces in multiple areas. The vehicle shakes upon acceleration and slowing down. Due to being lower income I cannot afford to fix the subframe (estimated to cost $400 for the the frame not including labor). Also the vacuum lines dry rotted and fell apart.
Hello, i would like to report a problem. Didnt really see anything about transmission on the choices listed above. Well i got this car used from someone. Didnt really noticed the transmission problem until i was driving it for a while on the freeway. The transmission is just so bad . It is stuck on 3rd gear all the way. At high speeds. So imagine, the engine is whining so bad. The car basically wants to give up now. Still starts, revers, goes foward with no problem. Shifting is the problem. Also, ive checked the transmission fluid. Its still at a perfect level. Yes, it has roughly 129,000 miles on it. But really? This car should be lasting longer. Please. I really dont want to pay out of pocket for a whole new transmission. WHILE DRIVING THE CAR WILL STALL AND NOT KEEP UP WITH THE SPEED I AM DOING . BEEN HAVING MAJOR ISSUES WITH THE POWER OF THE VEHICLE. IT'S LIKE SHAKING AND NOT ACCELERATING LIKE IT SHOULD BE.
DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND ALL OF A SUDDEN STARTED SOUNDING LIKE SOMETHING WAS BINDING. WHEN I GOT A CHANCE TO LOOK UNDER THE VEHICLE, I CAN CLEARLY SEE THAT THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL HAS SHATTERED, BROKEN COMPLETELY APART AND CAN SEE THE GEARS INSIDE. I GOOGLED 07 MURANO REAR DIFFERENTIAL AND THE EXACT SAME THING KEEPS COMING UP. THE CURRENT REAR DIFFERENTIAL LOOKS TO HAVE A YELLOW GREASE MARK ON IT. INDICATES TO ME THE PART HAS BEEN REPLACED BEFORE AND THE REPLACEMENT DID THE SAME THING.
MY CAR IS TOTALLY JUST CRAP! I'VE REPLACED COIL PACKS, ALTERNATOR, MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR, BATTERY, HUB ASSEMBLIES, CATALIC CONVERTER, AND A LOT MORE AND IT STILL HAS MAJOR PROBLEMS! VEHICLE SPORADICALLY STALLS UPON ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS. OPERATOR MUST APPLY MORE PRESSURE TO THE GAS PEDAL THAN NECESSARY TO ENTER TRAFFIC BECAUSE IT WILL NOT RESPOND FAST ENOUGH TO UNCOMING TRAFFIC.
MY NISSAN STARTS TO JERK FROM FIRST GEAR OR WHEN I SLOW DOWN AND START TO ACCELERATE IT MAKES A HARD JERK LIKE DOWNSHIFTING ON A MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND RELEASING CLUTCH TOO FAST. I RESEARCH AND THERE ARE A LOT OF PUBLIC FORUMS ON THIS ISSUE ON SENSORS GOING BAD TO CVT FLUID CHANGE TO TRANSMISSION ISSUES. I TOOK TO MY MECHANIC AND THEY TOOK IT APART COMPLETELY SAID HAD TO REPLACE THE TORQUE CONVERTER. SO THIS WILL BE A $1000 REPAIR AND I HOPE THIS WILL RESOLVE THE ISSUE.

MY 2007 NISSAN MURANO SUDDENLY BEGIN ACTING LIKE IT WANTED TO SHUT OF WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY. I WOULD PRESS THE GAS PEDAL ABOUT 3/4 DOWN TO THE FLOOR AND THERE WOULD BE A FEW SECOND LAG BEFORE THE RPM WOULD RISE AND THEN SUDDENLY JERK FORWARD. TROUBLE ACCELERATING ACCOMPANIED BY LOUD SCREECHING NOISE, FOLLOWED BY LOUD CLUNKING. DIAGNOSED AS TRANSFER CASE SEVERELY CRACKED AT 79000 MILES. 2 NISSAN DEALERS AGREED THIS WAS A DEFECTIVE PART WITH HISTORY OF PROBLEMS, BUT NOT RECALLED, AND ONLY WARRANTEED TO 60,000 MILES. I WAS DRIVING ON THE ROAD AT APPROXIMATELY 30 MILES AN HOUR WHEN I NOTICE THE ENGINE WAS REVVING AT A HIGHER SPEED WITH NO CHANGE IN ACCELERATION. I BROUGHT THE CAR TO BAY RIDGE NISSAN AND THEY REPLACED THE CVT TRANSMISSION FOR $500, EVEN I THOUGH I HAVE AN EXISTING WARRANTY. I HAVE CONTACT NISSAN CORPORATE AND I HAVEN'T HEARD FROM THEM. FIRST NOTICED IT KEPT POPPING OUT OF ALL WHEEL DRIVE IN A SNOW STORM WHILE DRIVING 15 MPR. NEXT ISSUE WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AT 65RPM THE SPEED KEPT DECELLERATING OR STICKING LIKE IT HAD A GOVANOR ON IT AT 65. NOW I CAN NOT DRIVE IT FOR MORE THEN TWENTY MINUTES WITHOUT IT DECELLERATING. IT WON'T SHIFT JUST STICKS AT 3RPM AND THE SPEED WILL NOT INCREASE. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THREE TIMES. FIRST TIME THEY SAID IT WAS A BAD BATTERY. SECOND TIME THEY HOOKED IT UP TO CHECK ENGINE MACHINE. IT DID NOT THROW A CODE SO THEY SAID IT WAS SAFT TO DRIVE. COMING DOWN A MOUNTAIN IT STARTED BUCKING AND SPEED DECELLERATED VERY QUICKLY. THANKFULLY I WAS NOT HIT FROM BEHIND. TRANSFER CASE LEAK ON 2007 NISSAN MURANO SL AWD, 3-4 MONTHS AFTER WARRANTY EXPIRED. NISSAN IS REFUSING TO FIX IT. HEAT PRODUCED IN CVT IS CAUSING SEALANT IN THE TRANSFER CASE AND ULTIMATELY TRANSFER CASE TO BREAK. NISSAN EXTENDED THE CVT WARRANTY BUT REFUSE CVT IS CAUSING THE TRANSFER CASE TO BREAK AND WAS NOT COVERED MY CVY EXTENDED WARRANTY. *TR
I FIRST NOTICED A "BURNING RUBBER SMELL" THAT MECHANICS COULD NOT DUPLICATE. AT ABOUT 80,000 MILES THE CAR BEGAN TO LOSE POWER WHEN I WOULD ACCELERATE. I BEGAN HEARING A LOUD SQUEALING NOISE THAT TO ME (A TOTAL CAR NOVICE) SOUNDED LIKE BELTS. BECAUSE OF THE POWER SURGES PROBLEMS AND NOT CHANGING GEARS (RPMS WERE LOW WHEN I ACCELERATE) I HAVE BEEN AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE. WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP (INSTEAD OF MY LOCAL MECHANIC) I WAS TOLD TO LEAVE IT THERE BECAUSE IT WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. APPARENTLY IT IS A "TRANSFER CASE" DEFECT THAT THEY ARE GOING TO REPAIR AT A HUGE EXPENSE TO ME. AFTER SEARCHING THE INTERNET FOR THIS PROBLEM WITH OTHER MURANO OWNERS, I WAS SHOCKED AT THE NUMBER OF MURANO TRANSFER CASE PROBLEMS THERE ARE OUT THERE. THE TRANSFER CASE IS LEAKING ON THE HOT EXHAUST PIPE. THERE IS COMMON FAILURE OF THE TRANSFER CASE SEALS IN ALL NISSAN MURANOS FROM 2004-2008...THERE ARE MANY PEOPLE COMPLAINING OF THIS PROBLEM AND QUICK SEARCH ON THIS ISSUE ON THE INTERNET PRODUCES A VAST NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS. THE TRANSFER CASE SEAL STARTS LEAKING ON ALL THESE MODELS AND THE TRANS-AXLE FLUID DRIPS ON THE VERY,VERY HOT EXHAUST MANIFOLD PIPE JUST BELOW THE SEEM OF THE TRANSFER CASE WHERE IT MATES WITH THE CVT. THE CVT IS COVERED UNDER A 120,000 MILE WARRANTY BUT NISSAN CLAIMS THAT THE TRANSFER CASE PORTION IS NOT. REGARDLESS THE IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AS IT COULD POTENTIALLY START A FIRE AND SUBSEQUENT LOSS OF THE VEHICLE, THE PROPERTY AROUND IT OR A LOSS OF LIFE FROM A FIRE. AS I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, THE CAR EITHER ACCELERATED OR DECELERATED EVEN THOUGH I MAINTAINED STEADY PRESSURE ON THE GAS PEDAL. I DID TAKE IT FOR REPAIR AT MY LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP. I NOTICED POWER STEERING FLUID ON THE CONCRETE UNDER MY VEHICLE. A MECHANIC TOLD ME MY HOSE WAS LEAKING AND I FOUND OUT IT COST ABOUT $500.00 TO FIX. NISSAN DEALER INFORMED ME THAT THE TRANSFER CASE SEAL IS BROKEN AND NEEDS TO BE RESEALED. ONLY NISSAN HAS SERVICED THE TRANSMISSION FLUID. THIS SEEMS TO BE A NISSAN CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (CVT)-RELATED PROBLEM. THE CAR HAS 66,000 MILES ON IT, AND THE WARRANTY ON THE CVT WAS PREVIOUSLY DOUBLED TO 120,000 MILES. THE ORIGINAL WARRANTY WAS FOR 60,000 MILES. HOWEVER, NISSAN ALLEGES THAT THE TRANSFER CASE IS UNRELATED TO THE CVT AND THEREFORE, NOT COVERED BY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. THIS SEEMS TO BE DISINGENUOUS, AT BEST. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, SHE HEARD A LOUD NOISE THAT SHE COULD NOT DISTINGUISH AND DROVE THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL MECHANIC. THE MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD A FRACTURED REAR DIFFERENTIAL AND STATED THAT IT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALER DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE.
