Defect: Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2020-2024 Jeep Wrangler 4XE and 2022-2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4XE vehicles. The high voltage battery may fail internally and lead to a vehicle fire while parked or driving.
Consequence: A vehicle fire while parked or driving can increase the risk of injury.

The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Wrangler 4XE. The contact stated that the vehicle was difficult to start. Additionally, the contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle hesitated while depressing the accelerator pedal. Additionally, the contact stated that there was an alarm related to the battery that was sounded. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V741000 (Electrical System); and the vehicle was taken to the dealer, where a software update was performed on several occasions; however, the failure worsened. The message "Check Electrical System" was displayed, and the check engine warning light and other unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where it was diagnosed, and it was determined that the high-voltage battery needed to be replaced. The contact was advised that the vehicle needed to remain with the dealer for a month. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 34,000. The VIN was not available.

The vehicle was not repaired due to the parts not being available. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 29,000. The VIN was not available.
