2012 INFINITI G25 Electrical System Problems

Last Friday, 7/25/21, while driving home from work, my car instrument panel, speed odometer, everything went totally black, I lost steering and pulled into a 7-11 parking lot. The passenger side of the car was smoking. I was locked in as door unlock wouldn’t work, nothing would work. I was unable to turn the car off and literally felt like I could pass out from smoke inhalation quickly called 911. People in the parking lot were trying to unlock my door to get me out of the vehicle. The fire department arrived and after a few minutes were able to get me out, but the car would not turn off. They forced the hood open and had to cut the cables to the battery to turn it off. It was terrifying!!! I can’t imagine what would have happened if I had been on the Turnpike or major Highway, I’m sure...

THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER REPLACING THE ENGINE, THE BATTERY AND AIR BAG WARNING LIGHTS REMAINED ILLUMINATED AND CONTINUED FLASHING WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO INFINITI OF NORWOOD LOCATED AT 866 PROVIDENCE HWY, NORWOOD, MA 02062, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE AIR BAG CONTROL UNIT WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 77,000.

VEHICLE HAS 97K MILES AND DOOR WILL NOT OPEN FROM INSIDE OR OUTSIDE. HIT DOOR LOCK/UNLOCK MULTIPLE TIME WITH NO LUCK GETTING IT OPEN. HANDLES DO NOT FEEL LIKE THERE IS ANY RESISTANCE WHEN PULLING ON THEM.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 INFINITI G25. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED.
