Check Engine Light was lighting up on and off sporadically and fuel gage was showing E with light on and now both are not working properly. The check engine light stays on and fuel gage always shows empty even when it is full.
When I bought this vehicle they were in cahoots with the nearby dealership, so no issues like this recall were found. I was NEVER TOLD ABOUT THE RECALLS because they trying to CHARGE ME!!!! This HAS always HAD this PROBLEM AND AT ONE TIME HAD A FUEL SENSOR problem.....I was told it was no problem to make the appointment at one Hyundai dealership and they had the VIN & NOW .....Now, that I had made an appt. with another dealership this is an issue and ALL of the factory recall issues were fixed, except for the hitch. IT NEVER was. I called the Hyundai Recall customer service # number and of course, they say there are no issues...The recall # is 077.

FUEL SENSOR BAD, GAUGE MOVES FROM FULL TO EMPTY BEFORE MY EYES ON A FULL TANK OF GAS. ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON, LOW FUEL LIGHT COMES ON. MECHANIC TELLS ME THAT THIS SHOULD BE COVERED BY HYUNDAI WITH A RECALL BUT THERE IS NO RECALL. WORRIES ME CONSTANTLY, HAVE TO FILL UP AFTER 60 MILES EVERY TIME
FUEL SENSOR PROBLEMS, FUEL LIGHT ON, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON, BOTH GO OUT WHEN TANK IS ABOUT (I WOULD ESTIMATE) 7/8 TO ABOUT 1/2 A TANK BUT ARE ON AT FULL AND I'M GUESSING 7/16 AND BELOW. I CAN PRETTY MUCH ESTIMATE MY MILEAGE BUT WITH 2 CHILDREN ABOUT TO GET THEIR LICENSE I FEEL THIS WOULD BE HAZARDOUS IF NOT DANGEROUS SHOULD THEY RUN OUT OF GAS ON A PARKWAY OR EXPRESSWAY. WITH ALL THE COMPLAINTS IT SHOULD BE RATED AS A RECALL AND FIXED. SEEMS TO ME THAT IT OCCURS ONCE THE BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY EXPIRES AND IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE DRIVE TRAIN WARRANTY.
I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THE VEHICLE REMOVED AND COMPENSATE THE VALUE TO PREVENT LOSS OF MY HUMAN LIFE OR OF ANOTHER PERSON
ISSUE 1) FUEL SENSOR HAD TO BE REPLACED, ONE WAS DONE BY ME THE OTHER BY MECHANIC. IT STOPPED SHOWING HOW MUCH GAS I HAD IN TANK SO I HAD TO GUESS. SEEMS TO BE A KNOW. AND RECURRING ISSUE ISSUE 2) HEADLIGHTS HAVE ALL OF A SUDDEN STOPPED WORKING, THE HIGH BEAMSS WORK ISSUE 3) THE DRIVER LOCK NO LONGER WORKS BUT OTHERS DO AND THE GAS DOOR NO LONGER UNLOCKS FROM DRIVER DOOR SO I HAVE TO USE THE EMERGENCY RELEASE TO GET AT THE TANK. ISSUE 4) THE LATCH FOR THE HOOD IS STUCK OPEN, THIS HAS BEEN A KNOWN ISSUE ON ANOTHER MODEL FROM THE SAME YEAR. I CAN GET MECHANIC RECORDS FOR FUEL ISSUE, THAT WAS ABOUT 1.4 YEARS AGO. HEADLIGHTS WERE YESTERDAY AND HOOD AS OF TODAY. THE DOOR ISSUE WITHIN LAST FEW MONTHS AND GAS DOOR WITHIN 2 YEARS.
ACCELERATOR STUCK WHILE MERGING ONTO THE FREEWAY, VEHICLE WAS GOING 85 MPH WHEN I PUT IT IN NEUTRAL AND USED BRAKES TO STOP. THE ENGINE CONTINUED "RACING" AFTER STOPPING AND STOPPED ONLY AFTER I SHUT OFF THE IGNITION. NOW ALSO HAPPENS WHEN ACCELERATING ON CITY STREETS. EXTREME DANGER IF SOMEONE DRIVING HAS THIS HAPPEN AND PANICS.
THERE'S BEEN ISSUES WITH THE FUEL PUMP AND PRESSURE GAUGE. WE'VE ALREADY HAD THIS PROBLEM REPAIRED 4 TIMES AND STILL SUSPECT THERE'S A LEAK SOMEWHERE. WE CAN SMELL GAS IN THE VEHICLE WHILE/AFTER PUMPING AND AFTER THE CAR HAS BEEN DRIVEN. ALSO, THERE SEEMS TO BE AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE WITH THE HEADLIGHTS WHEN PRESSING ON THE BRAKES, WHILE DRIVING.
THE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR HAS GONE BAD. FROM MY RESEARCH, THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE 2007 SANTA FE. IT HAS BECOME NECESSARY TO USE MY TRIP METER TO GAUGE HOW MUCH FUEL I HAVE.
THE GAS GAS DOES NOT WORK, THEY SAID IT WAS THE FUEL LEVEL SENSORS. THIS IS A GREAT DANGER AS I RAN OUT OF GAS AT A HIGH SPEED WITH MY 3 YEAR OLD SON IN THE CAR. THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED IMMEDIATELY. AFTER THIS HAPPENED I HAVE READ A TON OF OTHER COMMENTS REPORTING THE SAME THING, HYUNDAI SHOULD BE ASHAMED THEY HAVEN'T CORRECTED THIS ISSUE!
MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. WHEN I TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC THE REASON WAS MY FUEL SENSOR IS NOT WORKING. MY GAS GAUGE DOES NOT TELL ME HOW MUCH GAS IS IN THE CAR. THE REPAIR WOULD BE COSTLY AND REQUIRES THE REMOVAL OF THE GAS TANK. DUE TO THIS DEFECT, MY CAR WILL NOT PASS MD EMISSIONS TESTING. THE GAS GAUGE WORKS INTERMITTENTLY TO LET ME KNOW HOW MUCH FUEL IS IN THE CAR SO I NEED TO MONITOR HOW MANY MILES BETWEEN FILL UPS IN ORDER TO NOT RUN OUT OF GAS. IT OPERATES SPORADICALLY WHILE MOVING OR STOPPED.
I HAD JUST GOTTEN ON THE INTERSTATE AND THE CAR STARTED AND CONTINUED ACCELERATING ON ITS OWN. I HAD THE WIPERS GOING; CRUISE WAS NOT TURNED ON OR SET, THERE WAS NOTHING OBSTRUCTING BRAKE OR ACCELERATOR PETALS. I TURNED THE LIGHTS TO AUTO THEN DOWN TO RUNNING LIGHTS THEN TO THE ON POSITION. JUST AT THAT MOMENT WHEN I PUT THE LIGHTS IN THE ON POSITION IS WHEN IT TOOK OVER THE ACCELERATOR. I TRIED STEPPING ON THE BREAK AND IT DID NOTHING AS THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE. I MADE IT TO THE OFF RAMP TO GET OFF THE INTERSTATE IMMEDIATELY. I TRIED TURNING CRUISE ON THEN OFF AND DOWN SHIFTING. THEN I PUT IT INTO NEUTRAL AND IT STOPPED ACCELERATING BUT I STILL COULD NOT BRAKE. I STARTED TO PUSH ON THE EMERGENCY BRAKE AND WE STARTED TO SLOW DOWN UNTIL WE COASTED INTO A GAS STATION AND...
FUEL GAGE STOPPED REGISTERING FUEL IN TANK, EMPTY LIGHT IS ON, NO GUAGE MOVEMENT OF NEEDLE. HAVE TO GUESS ON AMOUNT OF FUEL IN TANK.
I BOUGHT TGIS CAR IN DEC.2017 FROM A USED CAR DEALERSHIP..SHOETLY AFTER THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME DAYS LATER BROUGHT THE CAR BACK AND THE SALESMAN/OWNER SAID ITS THE GAS CAP..CAME ON 3 MORE TIMES..THEY KEPT SAYING ITS THE GAS CAP..WELL I TIGGTEN THAT CAP TILL IT CANT TURN.ANOTHER THING THE BACK END OF THE CAR MAKES BUMOING NOISES ESPECIALLY GOING OVER A BUMP!! IT FEELS LIKE BACK ENDS GOING TO FALL OFF..LAST WEEK MY W YEAR OLD GRANDDAUGHTER WAS SITTING IN HER CARSEAT BEHIND THE DRIVERSIDE,I WAS IN PASSENGER SEAT AND I HEARD A THUMP.I LOOKED MY GRANDDAUGHTER LOOKED SCARED..UHOH SHE SAYS.SHE DIDNT DROP ANYTHING..THE PASSENGER FRONT SEAT THE BACK OF IT FELL OFF!! 2007 HYUNDAI SANTA FE FUEL GAUGE FLOATS FROM FULL TO EMPTY. BAD SENSORS. COST TO REPLACE IS NEARLY 1000.00 CONSIDERABLE SAFETY ISSUE, AS YOU NEVER KNOW PRECISELY HOW MUCH FUEL IS LEFT IN TANK. ASKING FOR RECALL.
APPROXIMATELY 2015 THE FUEL LEVEL SENSORS BEGAN MALFUNCTIONING AND THEN FAILED COMPLETELY WITHIN A FEW WEEKS CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO CONSTANTLY SHOW AN EMPTY FUEL LIGHT EVEN WHEN FULL. IN 2017 AT SOME THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR BRAKE CALIPER BRACKET PINS SEIZED WITH NO NOTICEABLE DRIVING DIFFERENCE UNTIL DRIVERS SIDE REAR ROTOR BEGAN TO FAIL. I DO NOT KNOW HOW LONG I HAVE BEEN DRIVING WITH ONLY 1 REAR BRAKE. HYUNDAI DOESN'T SELL THE PARTS THAT NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE WHOLE CALIPER MUST BE PURCHASED NOT JUST THE DEFECTIVE PARTS.
THE GAS SENSOR IS MALFUNCTIONING. CAUSE THE TANK TO SHOW OUT OF GAS WHEN THERE IS AT LEAST A HALF A TANK IN IT. THIS HAS ALSO CAUSED THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TO COME ON AND OFF WHENEVER IT WANTS TO. I WOULD TRAVEL TO GET IT CHECK ONLY FOR THE LIGHT TO BE OFF. I AM UNABLE TO SAFELY DRIVE WITH OUT FILLING UP MY TANK EVERY COUPLE OF DAY TO ENSURE THAT I ACTUALLY HAVE GAS. BOTH FUEL GAUGE SENDING UNITS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AT 91,000 MILES. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND IMPROPER/INACCURATE FUEL GAUGE READINGS PROMPTED THE REPAIR WHICH COST OVER $400 AT MY LOCAL MECHANIC. PER THE MECHANIC AND INTERNET RESEARCH, THIS ISSUE SEEMS TO BE PREVALENT WITH PRE-2010 SANTA FE MODELS AS HE RECENTLY REPLACED ANOTHER SET OF FUEL GAUGE SENDING UNITS IN A SANTA FE. CLEARLY NOT NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR.
FOR THE LAST 3-6 MONTHS MY ENGINE LIGHT AND FUEL GAUGE HAVE BEEN ACTING UP. MY ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON TO CHECK ENGINE AT SAME TIME MY FUEL AMOUNT READS EMPTY OF 1/4 TANK AMOUNT AFTER I JUST FILLED UP. I'M TOLD THAT I NEED TO REPLACE DEFECTIVE SENSORS FOR 600.00 PLUS DOLLARS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. I DONT WANT TO RUN OUT OF FUEL BY A BAD READ OUT OR STALL IN TRAFFIC.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HYUNDAI SANTA FE. UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. AFTER DRIVING A SHORT DISTANCE, THE ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL WARNING INDICATOR ALSO ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING, WHICH PRODUCED FAILURE CODES FOR THE FUEL SENDERS AND BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V113000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC, EXTERIOR LIGHTING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.

FOR THE LAST THREE YEARS I HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH MY FUEL GAUGE NOT WORKING. I HAVE TAKEN IT IN AND WAS TOLD IT WOULD COST A GOOD AMOUNT OF MONEY TO FIX. I ASKED IF THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH MASSEY HYUNDAI AND THEY TOLD ME YES THIS IS A CURRENT ISSUE, AND COULD NOT BE RECALLED BECAUSE IT WAS NOT DANGEROUS. SO ON 3.9.17 AS A RESULT OF NOT FIXING THIS ISSUE WITH MY VEHICLE BECAUSE OF THE PRICE. MY CAR HAS STALLED OUT ONCE WHILE ON THE INTERSTATE AND ALMOST LOST CONTROL OF MY CAR AND CRASHED. AND A SECOND TIME WHILE TURNING INTO WORK ROAD AND STALLING OUT AGAIN MID TURN AND ALMOST TURNING INTO A DITCH. I WAS TOLD THAT THE FUEL SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THEY HAD TO DO BOTH BECAUSE THEY WEREN'T SURE WHICH ONE IT IS. IF NOT FIXED...
ABOUT A MONTH AGO THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. I HAD ABOUT A HALF TANK OF GAS AT THE TIME. WHILE WAITING ON A PASSENGER THE FUEL GAUGE WENT TO EMPTY. I THOUGHT PERHAPS I HAD A LEAK, BUT DIDN'T NOTICE OR SMELL GASOLINE. I WENT TO THE FUELING STATION AND FILLED UP. IT ONLY TOOK ABOUT 7 GALLONS TO FILL THE TANK. WHEN THE TANK GETS TO APROX HALF FULL THE NEEDLE WILL TRAVEL TO EMPTY. I HAVE SEARCHED FOR A RECALL, BUT FOUND NONE. WHEN RESEARCHING THE RECALL I NOTICED THAT THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM ON THESE SANTA FE VEHICLES.
INTERMITTENT FAILURE OF FUEL GAUGE SENSOR CAUSED FUEL GAUGE TO SHOW FUEL EMPTY CAUTION LIGHT TO COME IF THE TANK WAS EMPTY OR NOT EMPTY. HAVE RUN OUT OF GAS BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE. HAVE SEEN ONLINE MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM WITH 2007 HYUNDAIS. BECAUSE OF THE EXTENSIVE PROBLEM, HYUNDAI SHOULD RECALL THIS AND BEAR THE COST OF THIS EXPENSIVE REPAIR.
FAULTY GAS GAUGE. AFTER FILLING UP TO A FULL GAS TANK, GAS GAUGE WILL GO UP AND DOWN AND EVENTUALLY STOP AT AN INCORRECT READING. THIS HAPPENS WHETHER THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY OR IN MOTION. I NEVER KNOW HOW MUCH GAS I HAVE WHICH IS INCREDIBLY UNSAFE AND DANGEROUS!!! WHEN THE GAUGE GETS BELOW HALF A TANK, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL COME ON. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR MONTHS AND NOW THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL NOT TURN OFF AT ALL NO MATTER HOW MUCH GAS THE CAR HAS. THEN, CAR STARTED TO SMELL LIKE GAS INSIDE WHEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. TOOK TO HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP TO FIX AND WAS QUOTED OVER $1,000. THIS VEHICLE SHOULD BE RECALLED, THE GAS GAUGE ISSUE IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE SOMEONE COULD RUN OUT OF GAS AND BE STRANDED. *TR
WHILE DRIVING, "CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT ILLUMINATED. "LOW FUEL" WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. FUEL GAUGE INDICATED NEARLY EMPTY EVEN THOUGH TANK WAS CLOSE TO HALF FULL. CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT ALWAYS ILLUMINATED.
THE FUEL SENDERS HAVE FAILED IN BOTH TANKS. TANK SAYS EMPTY WHEN IT'S FULL BUT DOES NOT READ RIGHT WHEN EMPTY. HAVE RUN OUT OF GAS TWICE WHEN IT SAYS 1/2 FULL. REPLACED BOTH AND NOW THEY HAVE GONE OUT AGAIN. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. COULD RUN OUT OF GAS ON THE HIGHWAY AND CAUSE A CRASH. YOU CAN RUN OUT OF GAS ANYWHERE, DRIVING OR IDELING. FOUND MANY OTHERS WITH THIS SAME ISSUE.
THIS MODEL VEHICLE HAS THE FOLLOWING ISSUE REPORTED - SEE INTERNET SITES - ALL TOO OFTEN AND HYUNDAI HAS TAKEN NO REMEDIAL ACTION. TOGETHER WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT THE FUEL GAUGE IS VERY ERRATIC DUE TO SENSORS FAILING IN THE FUEL TANK THAT SENDS THE FUEL LEVEL READING TO THE DASHBOARD FUEL GAUGE. IN ADDITION TO BEING A COSTLY CONSUMER REPAIR DUE TO THE MANUFACTURER DEFECT; THIS IS VERY PROBABLY A SAFETY ISSUE IN THAT WITHOUT A RELIABLE FUEL INDICATOR ON THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER THE VEHICLE OPERATOR COULD EASILY, UNKNOWINGLY, RUN OUT OF FUEL WHILE DRIVING AND CAUSING AN ACCIDENT WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF THOSE IN THE SUV BEING INJURED OR WORSE. THIS PROBLEM EXISTS WHENEVER THE SUV IS BEING DRIVEN ON A ROADWAY AS WELL AS WHEN PARKED WITH THE ENGINE ON OR RUNNING. THIS SUV ONLY HAS 44,000 MILES ON IT.

THE FLOATS AND SENSOR SYSTEM IN THE FUEL TANK QUIT WORKING IN 2015. THE GAS GAUGE REGISTERS AS EMPTY EVEN WHEN THE TANK IS MOSTLY FULL. THIS IS A COMMON DEFECT WITH THIS MODEL SANTA FE, AND THE REPAIR COSTS CLOSE TO $1,000. I BELIEVE IT PRESENTS A SAFETY HAZARD, IN THAT THE VEHICLE COULD RUN OUT OF FUEL ON A HIGHWAY OR A BRIDGE. HYUNDAI SHOULD ISSUE A RECALL OR AGREE TO FIX THIS SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE WITHOUT COST TO THE OWNERS.
GAS GAUGE IS GOING UP AND DOWN SOMETIMES IT'S CORRECT BUT MOST OF THE TIME IT'S NOT READING RIGHT . I HAVE READ ALOT OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SAME PROBLEM.ALSO THE ENGINE LIGHT IS ON I'M 63 AND MY GRANDCHILDREN RIDE IN MY CAR,THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL BEFORE SOMETHING MAJOR HAPPENS
I HAVE RECENTLY EXPERIENCED A FAULTY FUEL GAUGE, THEREFORE ACTIVATING THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMING ON. VEHICLE HAS 107236 MILES ON IT. I GOT ON LINE AND SOUGHT OUT POSSIBLE INFO FOR THIS PROBLEM, AND WAS MADE AWARE THAT MANY, MANY OTHER OWNERS OF THIS VEHICLE WERE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. SO I WENT TO THE HYUNDAI WEB SITE LOOKING TO SEE IF A RECALL HAD BEEN ISSUED. THERE WAS NONE THIS PROBLEM APPEARS TO BE ABLE TO POSSIBLY ENDANGER HUMAN LIFE, AND/OR INJURY. IT IS MINE, AND SEVERAL OTHER'S OPINION THAT A RECALL SHOULD BE ADMINISTERED BY THE NHTSA TO FORCE HYUNDAI MOTOR CORP. TO ENGAGE A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM, AS THIS IS BECOMING SYMPTOMATIC FROM THE FACTS THAT HAVE BEEN POSTED ON THE WEB. THE FUEL GAUGE KEEPS FLUCTUATING ON THE THE AMOUNT OF GAS AVAILABLE. I HAVE 87000 MILES ON THIS VEHICLE. WITHOUT PROPER ACCOUNTING OF GAS AVAILABLE, I AM AFRAID THE CAR MAY RUN OUT OF FUEL ON HIGHWAY
MY FUEL LEVEL SENSOR WENT OUT AT 70,000 MILES AND LEFT ME STRANDED ALONG A BUSY EXPRESSWAY WITH A 1 YEAR OLD. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND I HAVE SEEN SEVERAL COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS ISSUE. THIS ITEM SHOULD DEFINITELY BE RECALLED, PLEASE NOTIFY HYUNDAI. THANK YOU. *TR
GAS GAGE IS NOT WORKING, I HAVE TO ALWAYS FILL MY TANK UP I NEVER KNOW HOW MUCH GAS I HAVE IN MY TANK. I HAVE RAN OUT OF GAS SEVERAL TIMES. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE I HAVE RAN OUT OF GAS IN HEAVY TRAFFIC AREAS. I'VE CHECKED ALL THE FUSES AND THEY ALL WORK.
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WHEN STARTING. FUEL LEVEL SENSOR DROPPED TO EMPTY EVEN THOUGH TANK WAS RECENTLY FILLED. FUEL LEVEL INDICATOR WOULD RISE AND FALL AND GIVE FALSE READINGS. DIAGNOSTIC OF CHECK ENGINE LIGHT SHOWED P0464: FUEL LEVEL SENSOR "A" CIRCUIT INTERMITTENT. P0463: FUEL LEVEL SENSOR "A" CIRCUIT HIGH. P2069: FUEL LEVEL SENSOR "B" CIRCUIT HIGH. COST TO REPAIR CLOSE TO $900.
FUEL SENSORS FAILED AND NEED TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF $550.. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT ON AND THE FUEL GAUGE LIGHT WENT ON INDICATING THE WAS NO FUEL, BUT THE GAS TANK WAS FULL. THE FUEL GAUGE DIAL INDICATOR ALSO DROPPED TO DOWN TO ZERO AND IS INCONSISTENT WITH THE READING. SOMETIMES IT GOES UP AND THEN IT DROPS. THIS HAS BEEN A WIDE SPREAD PROBLEM ENCOUNTERED BY MANY HYUNDAI OWNERS. THE SERVICE TECHS ARE WELL AWARE A PROBLEM EXISTS. NO OTHER CAR I HAVE EVER OWNED HAS HAD THIS COSTLY PROBLEM. HYUNDAI SHOULD FORCED TO DO A RECALL.
MY SANTA FE ESC LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CAR WENT INTO A "LIMP MODE". IT SLOWED DOWN TO 10 MPH AND WOULDN'T LET ME ACCELERATE. I PULLED OVER AND I COULD FEEL THE ENGINE SPUTTERING. I TURNED OFF THE ENGINE AND WAITED A MINUTE, TURNED THE ENGINE BACK ON AND EVERYTHING WAS FINE. HAPPENED THE NEXT DAY AS WELL , NOW WHEN I DRIVE WHETHER ITS A COLD START OR AFTER 30 MINUTES OF DRIVING THE VEHICLE GOES INTO LIMP MODE. I TOOK IT TO TE DEALER AND $350 DOLLARS LATER IHAD THE PROBLEM FIXED, TURNED OUT TO BE A THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR. I HAVE DONE RESEARCH ON THIS PROBLEM AND I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE THIS HAS HAPPENED TO. THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE THAT I FEEL NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BY HYUNDAI IMMEDIATELY BEFORE SOMEONE GETS INJURED OR KILLED. THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED TO ME...
THIS IS ACTUALLY MY THIRD COMPLAINT. I HAVE SPOKEN TO HYUNDAI NO ONE WILL ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM. FIRST MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I WAS TOLD IT WAS A FUEL GAUGE SENSOR. I RECENTLY HAD THEM REPLACED NOW MY CAR'S CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS FLASHING AND THE CAR HAS STALLED ON ME SEVERAL TIMES WHILE IN TRAFFIC OR ON THE INTERSTATE. HYUNDAI IS IGNORING THIS. I THINK IT'S MY FUEL/ PROPOSITION SYSTEM. I HAD A TUNE-UP THE CAR SHAKES LIKE IT'S GOING TO STALL CONSTANTLY. I CAN SMELL THE FUEL FROM INSIDE OF THE CAR. I CANNOT BELIEVE AFTER ALL THE COMPLAINTS THEY STILL SAY THAT THE CARS AFFECTED WERE EITHER ONLY 2006 MODELS OR WERE NEVER SOLD. THAT'S A LIE. THEY'VE HAD OVER FOUR HUNDRED COMPLAINTS AND THREE YEARS TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS.

HYUNDAI SHOULD DO A RECALL.
I BOUGHT MY SANTA FE IN 2008, WITH 12,000 MILES ON IT. I'VE HAD TO REPLACE A GAS PEDAL SWITCH, GEAR SHIFT SWITCH, GAS GAUGE SWITCH, DRIVER'S SEAT SWITCH, TWO BATTERIES REPLACED, THE DRIVER'S VISOR HUNG DOWN, BOTH HYDRAULICS LIFTS GATE REPLACE, BACKSEAT LEFT SIDE DOOR LOCK REPLACE AND STILL DOESN'T WORK RIGHT AND OF COURSE THE ESC LIGHT PROBLEMS. ALL THE PROBLEMS STARTED IN JANUARY 2015.
UNABLE TO TELL HOW MUCH GAS IS IN THE CAR. THE FUEL SENSOR IS BROKEN. I'VE SEEN MANY POSTS ONLINE ABOUT THIS ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE.
