TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 HONDA PASSPORT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION WARNING INDICATORS WERE CONSTANTLY ILLUMINATED. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS AND ATTEMPTING TO TURN RIGHT OR LEFT, IT REQUIRED THE CONTACT TO USE EXTRA EFFORT TO MANEUVER THE VEHICLE. ADDITIONALLY, THERE WAS SMOKE COMING FROM THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION, CATALYTIC CONVERTER, AND STEERING ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 139,000.
