The contact owns a 2007 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that while driving approximately 70 MPH, the vehicle unexpectedly braked hard. The contact stated that the Vehicle Stability Assistance (VSA) warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the accelerator pedal was depressed and was able to continue driving. The contact stated that the failure was a recurring failure. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer or independent mechanic. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 13V500000 (Electrical System); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 200,000.

STEERING IS STIFF AND HARD TO TURN IN SLOW DRIVING WHILE PARKING OR TURNING.VSA SIGN IS ALWAYS ON.
WHEN I GO TO PASS OR ACCELERATE MY VEHICLES BRAKE FEEL THEY ARE BEING ACTIVATED OR SOMETHING IS MISFIRING. THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME I DRIVE MY VEHICLE. THERE IS A RECALL ON THE VSA FOR 2007 HONDA ODYSSEYS ALREADY BUT MINE IS NOT INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL BUT I THINK DIFFERENTLY. AFTER THIS HAPPENS WHILE I'M DRIVING THE VSA LIGHT STAYS ILLUMINATED WHICH MAKES ME PRESUME IT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE RECALL. WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO VERIFY THAT MINE IS INDEED NOT A PART OF THIS RECALL OR HAVE IT FIXED PROPERLY UNDER THIS RECALL?.

WHILE DRIVING MY 2007 MODEL HONDA ODESSEY, ON JUNE 5TH 2018 WITHOUT ANY WARNING SIGNS, VEHICLE SHUT OFF, DASH WENT OFF. TRIED TO APPLY BRAKE, IT DIDN'T WORK. SOMEHOW MANAGED TO PUT THE PARK GEAR TO PULL OVER TO A LEFT TURN LINE TO AVOID COLLISION WITH OTHER VEHICLES ON THE ROAD. 911 WAS ALERTED SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS BLOCKING THE LEFT TURN LINE AND WAS NOT ABLE TO EVEN OPEN THE DOOR TO COME OUT OF THE VAN. AFTER FEW MINUTES I WAS ABLE TO TURN IT ON AND THERE WAS NO ENGINE SIGN. NO INJURIES OR DAMAGE WAS SUSTAINED. I CONTINUED DRIVING THE VAN HOME. AFTER TWO WEEKS THE ENGINE SIGN CAME UP AND WE TOOK IT TO THE HONDA AUTHORIZED DEALERSHIP. THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WHICH CAUSES THIS ENGINE SHUTDOWN ABRUPTLY. THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. AFTER TWO DAYS THE BATTERY WENT DOWN. SO...
VSA LIGHT CAME ON THEN THE CAR WILL NOT GO OVER 2000 RPMS AND THE STEERING GETS HARD. THE BRAKES GO TO FLOOR MAKING HARD BRAKE FEEL. THIS HAPPENED ON THE INTERSTATE.
THE VSA CONTROL WENT OUT WHICH IS A $1500.00 REPAIR. THE HONDA ODYSSEY HAS BEEN RECALLED OVERSEAS BUT NOT IN THE U.S. I CALLED HONDA AND THEY ONLY GAVE ME A 25% DISCOUNT ON THE PART. EVEN THOUGH THIS MODEL HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED AS A RECALL. SURPRISED AT HONDA.

TAKATA RECALL, I TOOK MY GO TO WALMART TO CHANGE THE ENGINE OIL AND FILTER AND THE GUY THAT CHANGED, NOTICE THAT THE TANK WAS LEAKING FUEL FROM THE TOP OF THE TANK, I HAVE LET ME KNOW WHAT WAS HAPPENING SO, I DECIDED TO TOOK THE GO WITH MY MECHANIC. I USED A CAMERA TO SEE ON THE VERY TOP OF THE TANK AND I SAW THE FUEL LEAK COMING FROM THE TOP INSIDE OF THE TANK, HE SAID IT COMES FROM THE PUMP FUEL SYSTEM, SO I SEE WHY MY FULL TANK DOESN'T GET ME THE MILES THAT IT SUPPOSE TO GET BY GALLON. I RECEIVED A LETTER DETAILING THE REACALL ON MY 2007 HONDA ODDYSEY' S VSA MODULE. I BROUGHT IN MY VEHICLE TO HAVE THE PROBLEM FIXED. THE VEHICLE DID NOT HAVE ANY OBSERVABLE ISSUES, BEFORE I BROUGHT IT IN TO THE RACINE, WI HONDA DEALERSHIP. AFTER THE WORK WAS PREFORMED I OBSERVED THAT WHEN THE VEHICLES HEADLIGHTS WERE ON, THE CRUISE CONTROL, AND REAR BRAKE LIGHTS WERE NO LONGER OPERATIONAL, AND THE VSA LIGHT WOULD ILLUMINATE ON THE DASHBOARD AFTER THE LIGHT SWITCH HAD BEEN ENGAGED FOR 7 LITERAL MINUTES. THERE WAS A SAFETY RECALL CAMPAIGN NUMBER 10V098000 FOR VSA MODULATOR. I WENT TO DEALER TO FIX THIS RECALL AROUND IN 2014 AND NOW MY ODYSSEY IS GETTING "! VSA" LIGHT ON DASHBOARD. I CHECKED THE CODE AND CODE IS "DTC 66: VSA PRESSURE SENSOR INSIDE VSA MODULATOR CONTROL UNIT". DEALER IS SAYING VSA MODULATOR IS FAILED AND REPLACEMENT COST IS ~$1500. HONDA SOLD DEFECTIVE PART ON THIS VEHICLES AND THERE WERE MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT VSA FAILURES ON THIS VEHICLES. MY ODYSSEY IS ONLY 37,000 MILEAGE. THIS VSA MODULATOR CONTROLS ABS ALSO AND WE ARE VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THE STABILITY OF THE VEHICLE WITH THE FAILURE OF THIS MODULE. PLEASE FIND THE PHOTO OF THE DTC CODE READ BY THE AUTO SHOP. WE HAVE A 2007 HONDA ODYSSEY WITH 76,000 MILES. IN DECEMBER 2012 WE HAD BEEN DRIVING FOR APPROXIMATELY 3-4 MINUTES, EXITING ONTO THE HIGHWAY AND ACCELERATING TO REACH 65 MILES PER HOUR. WE ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE SLOWLY ALONG THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, TO GET TO THE NEXT EXIT, AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN. ONCE WE WERE FINALLY ABLE TO STOP IN A SAFE PLACE WE TURNED OFF THE CAR. WE TURNED THE CAR BACK ON AND IT DID NOT DO IT AGAIN. WE TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND THEY ONLY FOUND ONE CODE - THE STEERING SENSOR. THEY RE-CALIBRATED IT BUT WERE NOT CONVINCED THAT WAS THE PROBLEM....
VSA WARNING LIGHT WENT ON SUDDENLY DURING DRIVING. STEERING WHEEL FEELS NOT STABLE WHEN TURNING AFTER THE LIGHT IS ON. TOOK THE VEHICLE TO HONDA DEALER AND WAS TOLD THE COMMUNICATION BETWEEN THE VSA MODULE AND THE COMPUTER IS LOST AND NEED REPLACE VSA MODULE FOR $1,600. IT IS NOT A PROBLEM CAUSED BY WEAR-AND TEAR AND HONDA SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR MAKING THE ELECTRONICS MORE RELIABLE IN ODYSSEY MODELS. *TR
WHILE DRIVING IN HEAVY RAINING CONDITIONS OR FLOW OF WATER POOL, ON ROADWAY OR HWY, VEHICLE WANTS TO SHUT OFF DISPLAYING NO CHARGING, LIKE I HAVE NO POWER FOR A FEW SECONDS. TWICE THIS OCCURRED ON HWY SPEED 70+ OR 25-30 +, ON ROADWAY WITH HEAVY RAIN AND FLOW OF WATER POOL SPLASH DURING TURN VEHICLE SHUT OFF AND POWER UP WITHIN APPROXIMATELY 3-5 SECONDS. I WAS ABLE TO MOVE OVER TO THE OFF ROAD MEDIUM AND REGAIN ENGINE POWER. THIS HAS HAPPEN NUMEROUS TIMES IN THE COURSE OF 2 YRS. BRINGING VEHICLE TO HONDA DEALERSHIP WHICH THEY CANT REPEAT COMPLAINT EVEN WITH HOSING ENGINE BELT WITH WATER,THOUGH THE TECH STATED MANY CUSTOMERS HAVE REPORTED THIS DURING RAINING CONDITIONS. NOTE NO POWER STEERING DUE TO THIS EVENT. RET NYPD *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA ODYSSEY. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH THE BRAKES ENGAGED AUTOMATICALLY UNTIL THE VEHICLE STOPPED, ALTHOUGH SHE WAS APPLYING PRESSURE TO THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLES STABILITY ASSIST SENSOR WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE REMEDY FAILED TO REPAIRED THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED THIRTEEN TIMES. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE STABILITY ASSIST AND ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE, A REPORT WAS FILED AND ASSIGNED TO A REGIONAL OFFICER TO INVESTIGATE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 49,246.
I HAVE A HONDA 2007 ODYSSEY AND THE ALL FOUR BRAKE ROTORS NEED TO BE CHANGED, AND I HAVE BEEN THE ONLY OWNER OF THE VEHICLE I HAVE HAD THE VAN SINCE NOV. 20/2006 I ALWAYS DRIVE THE VAN EVERY WHERE HOW CAN THIS BE TO A NEW VAN? I WAS QUOTED A PRICE OF 1200$ TO FIX. THIS MAY BE A SAFETY PROBLEM BUT NOT SURE HOW MUCH OF ONE, BUT WHEN STOPPING IS CONCERNED IT IS SERIOUS. *TR
THE VSA LIGHT COMES ON. THEY REPLACED EVERYTHING AND NOW ARE GOING TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE WIRING HARNESS. THIS OCCURRED ONE DAY AFTER DRIVING THE VEHICLE OF THE LOT. I WOULD HAVE HAPPILY EXCHANGED IT FOR ANOTHER ODYSSEY BUT HONDA WANTS TO STICK ME WITH THIS LEMON INSTEAD OF DOING WHAT IS RIGHT. I AM NOW DISAPPOINTED IN THE WAY THIS HAS BEEN HANDLED AND I WILL LOOK TOWARD OTHER MANUFACTURERS IN THE FUTURE. *TR
