THE CAR IS HESITANCE DURING ACCELERATION, THE CAR VIBRATES WHILE DRIVING, MORE NOTICED DURING HIGHWAY DRIVING. HIS STARTED AUG 20,2018, WEN I START THE CAR, THE ENGINE MAKES NOISE SHAKES DURING A COLD START. HAVE BEEN TOLD NOTHING IS WRONG. BEGAN HAVING PROBLEMS IN LATE 2016 THRU MARCH 2018. THIS HAPPENS DURING COLD TEMPERATURES.
HEATER NOT BLOWING HOT AIR. HONDA ANTI-FREEZE SEEMS TO BE DISSOLVING RADIATOR
ENTERING A PARKING SPACE AT A LOCAL CVS THE CAR SELF ACCELERATED TO A VERY HIGH SPEED. THE CAR CHARGED FORWARD . THE BRAKES COULD NOT STOP THE CAR UNTIL IT SLAMMED INTO 2 PARKED CARS ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE STORE ENTRANCE.ALSO, THE SAFETY BAGS DID NOT OPEN. THE CAR WAS LIKE A RAGING BULL. THE CAR WENT OVER 1 PARKING BLOCK CROSSING OVER THE FRONT OF THE STORE ,OVER ANOTHER BLOCK BEFORE STOPPING.. THE ACCELERATOR WENT BERSERK WITHOUT ANY FOOT ON THE GAS PEDAL. I AM UNABLE TO SCAN ANY REPORTS ELECTRONIALLY
ENGINE SPUTTERS WHEN GOING INTO 2ND GEAR.
DRIVING SLOWLY IN HEAVY TRAFFIC ON I-95 IN PHILA CAR STALLED AND WAS RESTARTED, BUT BATTERY LIGHT STAYED ON. ENGINE TEMPERATURE INDICATOR WAS NORMAL. AFTER 15 MINUTES OF ADDITIONAL SLOW DRIVING CAR STARTED SMOKING UNDER THE HOOD. SOON AFTER PULLING OVER TO SHOULDER, FLAMES STARTED IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND A SHORT TIME LATER THE ENTIRE CAR WAS ENGULFED IN FLAMES. 911 WAS CALLED, POLICE AND FIRE TRUCK CAME. CAR WAS TOTALLY DESTROYED. MILEAGE WAS APPROX 32,000 AND VEHICLE WAS WELL-MAINTAINED. PHILADELPHIA POLICE (OR POSSIBLY PA STATE POLICE) REPORT WAS FILED: PA2018.545044. VTC ACTUATOR IS FAULTY. JUST OVER 65000 MILES.
IT STARTED ABOUT 1YR AFTER GETTING THIS CRV, UPON CRANKING MAKING A GRINDING NOISE I TOOK TO SHOP SEVERAL TIMES THEY DID THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG, NOW HERE LATELY I'VE HAD TO BOOST OF MY CRV SEVERAL TIMES, DO I TOOK TO SHOP TO CHECK BATTERY WHICH IS FINE, I DON'T HAVE TIME NOR MONEY TO KEEP GOING TO SHOP TO NOT HAVE ANYTHING DONE. I DESPERATLY AM AFRAID TO GO ANYWHERE OTHER THAN WORK IN FEAR IT WONT CRANK. IT ACTS LIKE IT WANRS TO TURN OVER BUT DOESN'T THEN SOMETIMES IT CRANKS RIGHT UP. I PURCHASED MY USED CERTIFIED 2014 HONDA CR-V EX-L 11/2016 AND THE CAR SEEMED TO RUNNING SMOOTH AND VERY QUITE. I TOOK IT IN FOR THE FIRST SERVICE CALL THE CAR DIDN'T RUN THE SAME, I EVEN WHEN BACK A FEW DAYS AFTER THE CAR WAS SERVICED. SINCE THE IF I MAKE A SUDDEN STOP THE CAR STOPS AND I FINALLY HEAR THE TRANSMISSION CATCHING UP AND THIS CAUSE THE CAR TO JERK BACK IN THE SITTING POSITION. IF I AM GOING ABOUT TO GO THROUGH MY DRIVE THRU MINI MARKET AND I HAVE TO WAIT ON ANOTHER CAR AND THEN PROCEED THE TRANSMISSION ACTS AS IF IT DOESN'T WANT TO MOVE AND IT FINALLY JUMPS INTO GEAR WHICH ALLOWS THE CAR TO MOVE FORWARD. ENGINE METAL RATTLING NOISE ON COLD START UP. VERY DISTURBING. ENGINE HAS A ROUGH START AS RESULT.
HONDA CRV 2014 NOICE IN THE ENGINE WHEN I'M DRIVING THE CAR AND IS ANNOYING VERY BAD . NIGHT LIGHT IS NOT WORKING CORRECTLY THE LIGHT IS NOT BRIGHT AN ACCIDENT CAN HAPPEN AC A GAS SMELL IS COMING FROM INSIDE THE AC
ON COLD START, THE ENGINE GRINDS FOR ABOUT 2 SECONDS. I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE NEW AND THIS HAS HAPPENED PERIODICALLY SINCE. DEALER SERVICE SHOP USUALLY CANNOT REPLICATE IT BECAUSE IT ONLY HAPPENS ON COLD START AFTER SITTING OVERNIGHT. FINALLY GOT THEM TO REPLICATE THE NOISE IN JANUARY 2016 AND DIAGNOSED AS A VTC ACTUATOR PROBLEM. APPARENTLY A VERY WELL KNOWN PROBLEM AND "THEY FIX THESE ALL THE TIME, KNOWN ISSUE". A WEEK LATER THE NOISE STARTED AGAIN AND NOW THE DEALER CAN'T REPLICATE AGAIN. I ONLY HAVE 10 MONTHS LEFT ON MY WARRANTY AND THEY SAY THEY WON'T REPLACE IT AGAIN BECAUSE THEY CAN'T REPLICATE IT. IF IT'S A KNOWN ISSUE, THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED AND FIXED AGAIN ASAP. WORRIED ABOUT THE LONGEVITY OF THE ENGINE, GIVEN THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE DAY ONE.
RATTLING NOISE FOR 1 TO 3 SECONDS WHEN STARTING THE VEHICLE AT TEMPERATURES AROUND 35 DEGREES F. THIS OCCURS RANDOMLY SINCE PURCHASE. HAVE TALKED WITH DEALER WITH NO RESOLUTION.

AS THE TEMPERATURES DROP, MY CAR MAKES A HORRIBLE GRINDING NOISE AS THOUGH SOMETHING IS SEIZING IN THE ENGINE WHENEVER I START THE CAR WHEN THE ENGINE IS COLD. THE NOISE ONLY LASTS A FEW SECONDS, AFTER WHICH THE CAR RUNS PERFECTLY FINE. THE PROBLEM TENDS TO OCCUR WHENEVER I START THE CAR AFTER IT HAS BEEN SITTING UNUSED FOR HOURS IN COLD WEATHER. THIS APPEARS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE WITH HONDAS AND SHOULD BE ADDRESSED BY THE MANUFACTURER.
ENGINE MAKES A GRINDING SOUND UPON START UP ON COLD MORNINGS FOR A FEW SECONDS WHILE PARKED. THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM SINCE I PURCHASED CAR. I WAS PARKING IN A PARKING SPACE BEHIND A PARKED CAR IN FRONT OF MY CAR. I APPLIED THE BRAKES, AND MY CAR LUNGED FORWARD WITH A TREMENDOUS ACCELERATION AND HIT THE PARKED CAR IN FRONT OF ME. AT LEAST, ALMOST $5,000 IN DAMAGE WAS DONE.

APPARENTLY THERE IS A WELL KNOW DEFECT WITH THE VTC ACCURATOR AND YET HONDA HASN'T ALERTED CONSUMERS TO THIS DEFECT OR ISSUED A RECALL. I AM WRITING YOU TO ALERT YOU OR TO ADD TO OTHER COMPLAINTS YOU HAVE RECEIVED REGARDING THIS ISSUE. ENGINE CAUGHT FIRE IN MY 2014 HONDA CR-V WHILE I WAS DRIVING TO WORK THE MORNING OF JANUARY 19, 2017. I PURCHASED THE CR-V NEW IN EARLY 2015. AT THE TIME OF THE ENGINE FIRE THERE WAS 49,585 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. THE ONLY WORK EVER COMPLETED ON THE CR-V WERE TIMELY OIL AND FILTER CHANGES, AND TIRE ROTATIONS. THERE WAS NOT ANY SUGGESTED OR REQUIRED WORK THAT WAS NOT COMPLETED. THERE WAS NOTHING UNUSUAL WITH THE CAR, NO NOISES, NO ODORS, AND I WAS THE LAST PERSON TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE PRIOR TO THIS DAY. FORENSICS REPORT CONCLUDED THAT THE FIRE ORIGINATED IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT IN AND AROUND THE FUEL SYSTEM. AT 8:50AM ON THURSDAY MORNING JANUARY 19, 2017 I LEFT MY HOME IN NJ TO TRAVEL TO WORK 14 MILES AWAY. IN LEAVING HOME THE CR-V STARTED NORMAL. I WAS ABOUT 10 MINUTES INTO THE TYPICAL 45...
"RUN AWAY ENGINE" THERE HAVE BEEN 5-6 OCCURRENCES WITHIN THE LAST 2 YEARS THAT ARE UNEXPLAINABLE. INFREQUENTLY WHILE TRYING TO STOP EITHER IN TRAFFIC OR FOR PEDESTRIANS THE ENGINE SUDDENLY REVS TO APPROX. 2200 RPM WHILE I'M ON THE BRAKE. ON 3/5/17 I WAS WITH A EXFORD ENGINEER WHO WITNESSED IT HAPPEN IN TRAFFIC. WHEN I PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK TO TRY AND STOP THE CRV, THE ENGINE REVVED WAY UP BEFORE IT SNAPPED AND WENT BACK INTO A NORMAL DRIVE SITUATION AND WENT DOWN TO NORMAL RPM. IT NOW HAS BEEN REPORTED TO HONDA 3X AND BACK TO A DEALER TWICE. I WILL NOW CALL HONDA AGAIN BUT THIS IS GETTING MORE DANGEROUS EACH TIME. IT HAS HAPPENED IN CA AND AZ BUT WHILE REOCCURRING, IT'S NOT A REGULAR ITEM. IT APPEARS IN THE SOFTWARE OR ENGINE COMPUTER TO HIM.

THIS IS AN ENTERMENTENT ISSUE. THE STARTER MOYER GRINDS AFTER THE ENGINE HAS STARTED. THE TPMS LIGHT COMES ON INTERMENTENLY EVEN IF THE TIRES ARE AT THE PROPER INFLATION PRESSURE. HOPE HONDA DOES SOMETHING ABOUT THESE ISSUES.

STARTER STICKS AND DOESN'T DISENGAGE FOR A FEW SECONDS AFTER ENGINE TURNS AND STARTS. AS A RESULT, STARTER SOLENOID GEAR GRINDS AGAINST FLYWHEEL TEETH, CAUSING DAMAGES TO THE TEETH OF SOLENOID AND/OR FLYWHEEL. THIS MECHANICAL FAULT OCCURS EVERY TIME AFTER A VEHICLE IS PARKED FOR A DAY OR MORE. WEATHER (COLD OR HOT) DOESN'T AFFECT THE DEFECT.

I BOUGHT MY CRV IN OCT 2013. FOR THE SECOND WINTER THE CONTINUES TO BE A LOUD GRINDING NOISE ON FIRST START OF THE DAY. IT MUST BE IN THE 20S OR LOWER FOR THE NOISE. THIS WINTER I HAD THE DEALER VERIFY THE PROBLEM. SAID IT'S THE VTC ACTUATOR AND HONDA IS WORKING ON IT. DEALER AGREES IT IS A DEFEAT, BUT HONDA HAS NO FIX IN PLACE. APPARENTLY REPLACING THE VTC ACTUATOR WILL NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. HONDA HAS BEEN AWARE OF THE PROBLEM FOR AT LEAST 2 YEARS NOW. STILL NO WORD. I THINKING HONDA IS JUST MOVING ON AND IGNORING THIS PROBLEM.
MY ELDERLY MOTHER DIED IN A FIRE IN HER 2014 HONDA CR-V. THERE WERE NO WITNESSES TO THE ORIGIN OF THE FIRE. THE CAR WAS FIRST SEEN WHEN FULLY ENGULFED BY FLAME, 10 TO 20 MINUTES AFTER MY MOTHER WAS SEEN GETTING INTO HER CAR. UNKNOWN IF SHE LET IT IDLE BEFORE DRIVING. SHE DROVE ABOUT 1200 FEET. HER CAR WAS FOUND IN WET IVY AT THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. HER KEY WAS IN HER HAND, AND SHE WAS LEANING TOWARDS THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CAR, APPARENTLY TRYING TO ESCAPE THE FIRE. (BECAUSE THE CAR WAS ON A HILL, LEANING TOWARDS THE PASSENGER SIDE, FLAMES FROM BENEATH THE CAR WERE STRONGEST ON THE DRIVER SIDE AND WOULD HAVE BLOCKED HER EXIT.
