while in park, out of the blue, four different types of ADAS lights came on the dashboard all at the same time. (ACC, Collision mitigation system problem, road departure mitigation system problem, & brake system). Cruise control, automatic, high beams, etc. no longer worked. Dashboard said to take the car to the dealership. at the dealership, Honda said there was a malfunction with the radar sensor. They ran the diagnostic test, and after updating the system, the problem was fixed.

I rented this car. The adaptive cruise worked great in the daytime, but when it got dark and started to rain, the system started to lose its ability to detect other vehicles. Instead of disabling itself like it should have, the system continued to operate. It often would detect vehicles intermittently, speeding up and slowing down randomly and abruptly. The worst incident was when I was behind an unloaded flatbed semi (again, it was dark and raining.) The car lost track of the semi and accelerated to my set speed. As I got closer, but not THAT close, the car suddenly thought I was much closer than I was and initiated automated emergency braking. It then lost sight of the semi and repeated this cycle a few more times before I turned off cruise control. There was no one behind me, or this could have been a serious accident. I...

The vehicle brake suddenly and has light appear when parked and or not driven. Car shut off once on the freeway already and yesterday the whole car would not run . It has been in and out service about ten times and they can’t find an issue This is calling emotional distress, the Breaking with kids in the car almost causing an accident three times with this vehicle. currently under lemon but Honda is not taking this seriously ! I have multiple repair notes and also video.

All of the lights come on periodically (lane departure can’t be used, it says braking system error, it says braking system could be decreased and says to have car serviced) I’ve taken it to the dealership once and they could not replicate it and said it could be a sensor but wasn’t sure I paid for a inspection because they didn’t know. Searching things now there are a ton of forums with the same problem for the same model and make.

My 2022 Honda Civic has been having issues with the EPS Rack and Parts. There has been a recall on this part on the Honda Civics and unfortunately my vehicle was not on the list of cars that was made in the manufacturing time. My car is extremely hard to turn the steering wheel while driving and it causes my cruise control steering system to not work correctly almost causing many accidents. I have also had to buy 2 new sets of tires as it has caused them to wear down faster. Ive had alignments and the car will still steer me to the right direction. The front tires rub very harshly when I need to make a turn. When turning it makes many noises. When I go start to go about 45mph the car will start shaking very harshly until 80mph. The car started to shake and make clunking...

This Incident occurs daily and poses a SEVERE risk to not only myself but other vehicles on the road, with ADAS systems off the 11th gen civics seem to have a mind of its own. When traveling above 40 Mph on a long curvy road/highway or raining, the steering wheel becomes "Notchy" and will lock in place for moments at a time. The only way to gain control of the steering wheel is to apply extra force and once applied the steering wheel is released and causes the driver to overcorrect. I purchased my civic 2 months ago purely for its reliability and the safety ratings given by the NHSTA. Honda has initially released the service bulletin to address their faulty replacement racks stating "certain service part electric power steering (EPS) gearbox assemblies were not made to proper specification. " In reality this is a LIE they are trying to...

While driving the car with the cruise set at any random speed, the adaptive cruise control would "cancel" and a long beep noise would sound. When attempting to "resume" cruise control, three quick beeps can be heard and the cruise control would not activate. The car has to be shut off and cranked back up for the cruise control to work again. The dealership I took it to claimed they could not recreate the issue. There are no DTC codes and no warning lights. It has been happening since I purchased the vehicle in February of 2022. The sudden cancellation of the cruise control can pose a safety issue for drivers behind me and myself.

Driving down the high way at about 55-60 miles an hour went to overtake a vehicle and brake system light, and flashing parking brake late came on all systems such as cruise control, lane mitigation, lane keep assist, brake assist and reduced braking performance messages came up on the dash about the foruth time this happens, had gone to the dealer before for the same issue.
#11561570 |
When starting my car, it struggles to start and then the emissions system light stays on, warning of engine power being affected. The car sputters when driving. The lane departure light stays on, as well as the braking system light, which warns of potential problems with braking. My safety is at risk when trying to accelerate and sputtering instead. Since the problem started today, December 22, I can’t go to the dealer until after Christmas. No one else has inspected the vehicle yet. There were no other warnings, however steering did feel strange, starting a couple of days ago.

When traveling on the highway, the cruise control system will cut out on random intervals, and not be available to turn back on unless you stop the vehicle, turn it off, and then turn it back on again. This poses an electrical system risk, and may encourage drivers to pull over on the side of the highway to restart their vehicle to regain access to cruise control. There are already many Reddit and online forums about this issue I have linked below. There is also a service bulletin issued out for this issue, so Honda is aware that vehicles are affected, but this doesn’t actually fix the issue, since my car has already been in for service regarding this issue. Steering wheel sticks while driving requiring additional pressure to manipulate the wheel. It was checked at the dealership but was not replicated. Dealer stated they knew the issue was the steering system but couldn’t replicate it so they couldn’t repair it. The front collision system alerts and applies the breaks while cruise control is set randomly with nothing around. These issues have been around for a year or so
#11554769 |
This vehicle is two years old, has 70,000 miles on it now. It’s worth noting that this issue started when it had 15,000 mile on it several years ago. I took it to the dealer, but they told me they wouldn’t do anything about it since the light no longer indicated an issue. Randomly, the vehicle will suddenly say “collision mitigation system problem, see dealer” and “adaptive cruise control problem see dealer”. These two warnings always show up together, and always turn off lane keep assist and all cruise control options until the warning disappears. The warnings will pop up 5-6 times a year and sometimes last several days, sometimes only seconds. Dealer initially told me it may be due to water after it rains but now it’s happening even during dry weeks when we haven’t had rain in ages.

I owned 2 of these 2022 civics equipped with Honda's Collision mitigation braking technology. This is the year they removed the forward radar and relied only on a single camera unit. I was involved in a rear end collision where I was the rear ender even with the distance setting on the furthest setting. The accident was on the highway at about 40MPH. A vehicle Merging on to the highway stopped in front of me in my lane. I was using adaptive cruise control. I can tell you the responsive of this system had me worried from in several other situations I was in. Not only did the adaptive cruise fail detect and slow the vehicle based on the vehicle in front of me, the safety system did not make any attempt to slow the vehicle and no detection was made by the system until about .2 seconds (or about...

My car has the red light blinking on and I can't turn on my car it said it has engines problems
#11525485 |
Power steering is giving an error code which has disabled front radar and adaptive cruise control as well as lane keep assist. Dealership is refusing to tell me in depth what is wrong with the unit but is insisting I replace it.
#11516609 |
There are two issues that I want to report: 1. While using the adaptive cruise control on the freeway, I was cruising at about 65 MPH and my adaptive cruise control turned off by itself. My car began to decelerate with vehicles approaching my rear bumper rather quickly. I was not able to reengage the adaptive cruise control at all. 2. While driving on the freeway, I noticed my steering was not steady or stable. I would steer just a little bit to maintain my lane and the steering did not respond so I pushed the steering wheel a little more and the steering was sticky. So I pushed harder and the steering did move but it moved more than just enough to maintain my lane so I was weaving in my lane as I tried to make the corrections.

While driving my car on the open highway, I noticed that the steering wheel became somewhat sticky and resistant. This started in September of 2022 and the problem has become increasingly worse. The steering wheel requires excessive force to turn at speeds above 40mph, making micro-adjustments to the steering very difficult and causes oversteering. If there is a bend in the road and I turn the steering wheel, it sticks when trying to straighten the wheel out. It requires additional force to break the sticking point and get the car straightened back out. The safety concern is related to the straightening back out, in some cases it takes considerable effort and requires control to not over power into crossing the line of the lane. I also have concerns of a lock up and causing an accident that could harm me as well as others. Currently, I am not driving my...

Recently I saw the Collision mitigation Breaking system problem and Adaptive cruise control system problem in my car. Honda has not resolved this issue, so taking it to the dealer will not resolve the issue and it is a safety issue because without any reason at any speed the car can abruptly stop and cause accidents. I asked the Honda dealer if they can disable this function and they said they can’t disable it. That is why I don’t feel safe driving this car.

I purchased my 2022 Honda Civic Hatchback Sport in November of 2021. I currently have 7,000 miles on my vehicle. 2 months ago, I noticed a slight sticky feeling with my steering wheel. This almost feels like I am in a constant rut and having to make slight but hard pulls at the steering wheel to make any small adjustment. This occurs when I am going roughly 40 miles per hour or higher. At first, it felt like my LKA was on but when I saw that it wasn’t it brought concern. I had a moment a couple of weeks ago where my steering wheel almost ran my husband and I into the right lane. I am worried since there have been multiple reports of others having this same issue and it got worse. I also had a moment on December 31st, 2022 where my car was put into adaptive...

The Steering feels very sticky after 17k miles and it’s getting worse, it occurs typically during highway speeds, also the lane assist feature is affected greatly by this as it does not work due to the steering having this “sticky” feel to it. moderate to overcorrection of the steering wheel is required while operating the vehicle, this has caused constant swaying putting not only myself at risk but others especially while commuting daily. I feel as though my safety is at dire risk. Dealerships are no help as they say nothing can be done unless a code is popping up, but anyone in the car world knows that steering problems do not Have a particular code of warning. Please investigate the matter ASAP as this could cause a serious life risk

Cruise control disengages then slows down very quickly, then will not reengage. You have to keep pulling over and restarting the car for the system to come back on line. It's random and keeps happening.

2022 Honda Civic Sport current milage: 21,000 miles. I have had this car since September 2021. Ever since my first day of ownership, the LKAS system for assisting the driver with lane guidance constantly fights me. Often, the car turns the steering wheel by itself to hug the left lane line, often passing over the line and causing the Lane Departure warning to activate, shaking the steering wheel. This issue has occurred on the right lane line as well, but typically the issue is with the left lane line for my car. This happens every time I drive my car. I took my 2022 Honda Civic Sport to a Honda dealership about a year ago to look at the lane departure issue. The mechanics were able to replicate the issue, however nobody knew what to do as no codes were supplied by the car. The employees acted as if I...

Adaptive cruise control suddenly disengaged with a loud beep while on an interstate and collision mitigation braking also engaged without warning or reason. No warning lights or messages came on. Today, 12/16/2022 is the first time this happened.
#11496495 |
The contact owns a 2022 Honda Civic. The contact stated that the vehicle experienced phantom braking while driving at various speeds with the cruise control activated. The contact stated that an unknown sensor obstruction warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where the mechanics were unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 14,000.

The cruise control stopped working all of a sudden on the freeway with a beep. When trying to turn it back on it beeps again and shows the off sign on the cruise control icon in the display screen.
#11485699 |
The adaptive cruise control disengages abruptly during its operation with a beep and cannot be reengaged unless it is restarted. Honda seems to have released a TSB for this issue but this car hasn't been updated for that TSB software update. Nevertheless I wish to log this complaint since it did occur a couple of times on the road so far with no obvious abnormal surrounding situations. The windshield and the weather were clear. The second incident occurred during night. Plan to go the dealer and get the TSB software flashed.

While driving on the interstate both adaptive cruise control(ACC) and regular cruise control have disengaged on multiple occasions. Once this occurs the cruise control will not engage regardless of whether I try ACC or regular cruise control and I receive a message "Cruise Control Off" and a beep when I try. The only consistent solution seems to be to turn off the car and turn it back on. There have been multiple instances where the system disengaged while I was between other vehicles and my safety was definitely at risk due to a sudden change in speed without a logical traffic reason. I have not had the vehicle inspected by a dealer because this only occurs very randomly(5-10 times in 12,00 miles) and to reproduce it would likely require hours of driving. I am only able to speciically list one date that I know that this problem occured while my...

Purchased vehicle 1/31/2022 from dealership with only 5 miles on it. while driving to work 2/3/2022 cruise control was set, came behind a vehicle and when switched lanes to pass. cruise control turned off and decreased speed rapidly and was unable to restart system. Almost was rear ended by traffic behind me. Called dealership and they said to bring it in to see what is going on. Confirmed issue with cruise control was told that it would "be a while to get fixed" it is now 5/12/22 and the part has not even been ordered and i am unable to use cruise control as i dont know when it will quit working and even when i turn off the vehicle it will not work for several trips after the car is turned off.

While driving on the freeway at 75 mph, the Adaptive Cruise Control was engaged, and when commnig up behind a slower moving truck in the slow lane, our car decelerated to match it's speed. I then went to pass the truck after several vehicles passed us on the left. As soon as I started to change lanes, the cruise control shut itself off and the car started to slow down with several more cars now right behind us in the fast lane. Once we were past the truck and back in the slow lane, I tried to re-engage the ACC, which refused to turn back on. It only gave a beep and showed an icon on the display that said ACC was off. (it was not off). The ACC would only start working again after we had gotten off the freeway and stoped the car. On this same trip, the...

At random times under all driving conditions, the cruise control will shut off. There will be an alert sound without any subsequent information and the car will start decelerating. The system cannot be re-engaged until after the car comes to a complete stop and the engine is restarted. There are many reports of this on Honda forums. Here is a link: https://www.civic11forum.com/threads/anybody-having-cruise-control-issues.963/

in a few different events I have had my 2022 civic but emergency brake with no object in front of me and pull me out of the lane instead of steering me in lane. I have provided Honda with video and picture evidence and they can't seem to do anything to fix it and I can no longer comfortable use those features and feel safe driving the vehicle.

While driving on a interstate highway with adaptive cruise control enabled the adaptive cruise control system unexpectedly disabled itself. I was in the process of passing another vehicle, it was sunny and clear and suddenly I heard a long beep and the vehicle started to slow down. I briefly looked at the dashboard but see any warning but noticed ACC was off. Once it was safe again I attempted to re-enable ACC but the system refused saying ACC was off. At the next rest area I stopped and shut off the vehicle, only after that I could use ACC again. It's unknown if any of the other Honda sense features were disabled but this unexpected behavior is a concern. There is an entire thread at https://www.civic11forum.com/threads/anybody-having-cruise-control-issues.963/ which indicates others are having the same issue.

Cruise control shuts off while on interstate without any warning. Have taken to dealer and no codes and unable to reproduce. Happens every commute on interstate. Have to stop car turn of ignition and then works again. No warning lamps, messages. Honda aware of situation and not offering fix. Car has less then 1500miles
#11455197 |
Since day one of purchasing the vehicle which now has 6000 miles on it the cruise control intermittently drop out and you cannot reengage it unless you pull over turn off the car and restart the car
#11454677 |
While driving on a freeway, the cruise control will beep and then automatically and abruptly turn off and it will not turn back on. To turn it back on I have to pull the car over and, sometimes, turn it off and turn it back on to get the cruise control working again. This has happened multiple times and the frequency is about 2 times a week.
#11453942 |
Cruise control disengages 20 minutes after activation. It can not be re-engaged without stopping the car.
#11450583 |
Adaptive Cruise Control will shut of randomly and for no reason. Must wait for it to re-engage Adaptive Cruise Control or power off/on vehicle. During this time the auto high-beam feature is not useable.
#11450354 |
Driving the vehicle on the interstate and cruise control will randomly turn off and I cannot turn the cruise control back on until I pull over and put the vehicle in park. I feel it is unsafe to have to pull over on the interstate and put the vehicle in park to be able to use cruise control. This is the only fix to the issue right now, so when I am on a long trip, I have to pull over so I know I can maintain a safe constant speed.

My cruise control will randomly shut off and deactivate when I'm on the highway. It has almost caused me to have accidents due to the sudden deactivation and cars traveling behind me. I am unable to reactive my cruise until I come to a complete stop. This has happened to me since the day I have had the car and it happens sometimes serval times a day, or not at all. It is completely random when it happens. I have had my car in the Honda shop a couple of times and they are unable to figure out the cause or the problem. I am a home health nurse and rely on my car and cruise control and I'm worried about my safety because of this malfunction. I have looked online and there are a lot of discussion groups with the exact same thing happening in their 2022 civics.

While driving on HWY to work the automatic high beams would go to low followed by the automatic cruise control would cancel with a warning stating it was unavailable. It did this three times on the way to work in the morning and once in the afternoon going home on the same day, one of the times it would not let me turn ACC back on stating it was unavailable. The following day it happened again on the way to work in the morning.

Vehicle purchased new from Honda dealership in Yuma AZ in June of 2021. Within 2nd day of ownership, the cruise control abruptly shut off causing a safety risk of driver's behind me coming close to rear end collision. The cruise control has abruptly and without warning has randomly shut off over 40 times since then. Vehicle has been taken in for repair 4 times with no resolve. Honda tried adjusting brake switch on first repair attempt, did not fix the issue. Second and third attempts the dealership replaced the SRS module and the brake switch. Drove vehicle for 800 miles, then the issue arose again, causing the car to immediately slow, causing others behind me to have to brake quickly putting me at risk of rear end collision. Opened a case with American Honda, case number12509879. American Honda and the dealership states "they can not fix the issue until they...

After driving anywhere from 20-30 minutes my car’s cruise control feature experiences a bug. From my experience while the vehicle is in cruise control the cars system will make a low tone elongated beep and the cruise control system will stop working. As the vehicle is in motion and attempting to engage/set the cruise control feature the HUD alerts that the “cruise control” needs to be on/active. No matter how many times you deactivate and activate cruise control the system will not allow you to set ANY desired speed because it perceives the cruise control feature as “off”. The only fix I’ve found is to come to a complete stop or park and restart the vehicle. I’m not the only person to experience this. The photo uploaded shows the HUD telling me that the ACC is off when it is in fact on. However the system will not engage and...

Driving car on I-76 in Pennsylvania. Speed set to 72 MPH. Passed a truck and the cruise control shut off without warning and would not restart. This posed a risk to me because I had just completed a pass of a truck and started to slow without my knowledge. This resulted in the truck catching back up to me on a curve - a dangerous situation (a truck would never pass on the right, let alone in a curve.)
#11446753 |
Was driving on the interstate at approximately 75 MPH. Randomly the cruise control stopped keeping speed. Someone was on my tail when it disabled and could not get it to re-engage. The dash said the cruise control system was still enabled, but would not allow me to set the speed. I'm reading on online forums about several other drivers of this particular model vehicle are having this same issue. When trying to set the speed, it beeped 3 times. Turning off the car and back on re-enabled the cruise control.

My 2022 Honda, VIN [XXX] when in cruise control mode either Adaptive Cruise Control or regular, Cruise control mode intermittently shuts off. The Automatic headlight diming function also shuts off. There are no messages, warnings or codes associated with it. Attempting to reset the cruise does not works and the car beeps when it is attempted. The only way to reset cruise control is to stop, place the car in Park or stop, place the car in park and turn the ignition off and restart. The issue is that when in traffic on the interstate, when cruise shuts off, operator (me) may not necessarily se it when it happens. As the car slows unknowingly, vehicles behind may run in to the car or create unnecessary congestion. The dealer asked if I could video this and I did. The video was after it shutoff and my attempts to reset it. I...

The cruise control turns off by itself while driving and cannot be turned back on without restarting the car. It can put others at risk because of the unexpected speed change. The car has 800 miles and it has happened 3 times so far. No warnings or lights occurred prior to it shutting off. This seems to be a common issue according to the posts by others here: https://www.civic11forum.com/threads/anybody-having-cruise-control-issues.963
#11442415 |
Cruise control (either in Adaptive Cruise Control or regular) disengages randomly and if you attempt to restart the cruise, the cruise control will not work. The cruise control icon will appear on the center display and beep, with the words "Cruise Control Off", to get this working again, the only way I've found is to stop the car and either put it in park and/or shut off the car or turn it back on. The problem seems to happen at random, and so the dealership at this point can not help me. This does not seem to be an isolated incident as others have been posting online about the exact same issue. ( See the following forum posts on https://www.civic11forum.com/threads/anybody-having-cruise-control-issues.963/ ). Perhaps this is a software issue with the cruise on the new models... Hopefully Honda can get an update out fast! Disappointing that such a dangerous issue exists at...
