Defect: Heartland Recreational Vehicles, LLC (Heartland) is recalling certain 2021-2022 Cyclone, Fuel, Gravity, and Warrior vehicles equipped with certain Sailun tires, sizes ST235/80R16 and ST235/85R16. Due to a manufacturing issue, the tires may experience a belt separation.

Consequence: Belt separation could lead to loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect the tire DOT codes, and replace the tires as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 7, 2022. Owners may contact Heartland customer service at 1-877-262-8032 or Sailun customer service at 1-844-281-9696.

Recall 21V849000 — ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:WIRING

Defect: Heartland Recreational Vehicles, LLC (Heartland) is recalling certain 2020-2021 Heartland Cyclone and 2019-2021 Road Warrior Toy Hauler recreational trailers. The transfer switch wire securement lugs may have been improperly tightened during production, causing the wires to come loose.

Consequence: Loose wires can cause electrical arcing, increasing the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and tighten the securement lugs, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 16, 2021. Owners may contact Heartland customer service at 1-877-262-8032.

Recall 20V521000 — EQUIPMENT:RECREATIONAL VEHICLE/TRAILER

Defect: Heartland Recreational Vehicles, LLC (Heartland) is recalling certain 2019-2021 Cyclone and 2020-2021 Bighorn Traveler, and Elkridge recreational trailers. Due to insufficient bracing, the front landing legs may buckle and collapse while the trailer is parked.

Consequence: If the landing legs buckle, the trailer will drop unexpectedly, increasing the risk of property damage, personal injury or death.

Remedy: Heartland will notify owners, and dealers will install a jack bracket to reinforce the landing legs, free of charge. The recall began October 9, 2020. Owners may contact Heartland customer service at 1-877-262-8032.

We were driving north on [XXX] from Albuquerque to Aztec, NM driving between 65 and 70 mph. There was no debris in the road and the tire on the passenger rear axle blew out. The tread separation tore up the side skirt and trim. I checked the tire pressure on the other 5 tires and all were inflated to the recommended PSI. The contact owns a 2021 Heartland Cyclone. The contact stated that the RV was parked at a campground charging station when the contact noticed there was dark grey smoke coming from inside of the RV under the bar area in the vehicle. The contact unplugged the main power from the vehicle and removed the fireplace station where the smoke was coming from to see that the outlet plugs and outlet box connection were burnt. The contact had a technician at the site inspect the RV and diagnosed the failure as a faulty outlet box and needed to be replaced. The contact was concerned that the failure was caused due to water dripping from the sink next to the outlet box that caused the failure. The RV was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

The contact owns a 2021 Heartland Cyclone travel trailer. The contact stated that the two axles that support the weight of the trailer were bent. The axles only supported 14,000 pounds however, the trailer weighs 15,320 pounds, which caused the axles to bend. The travel trailer was taken to an independent mechanic and the axles were straightened. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that they would send out replacement axles. The failure mileage was approximately 3,000.
