TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 GMC ACADIA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE LIFTGATE FAILED TO REMAIN OPEN WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE LIFTGATE ACTUATOR MOTOR CONTROL SOFTWARE NEEDED TO BE UPDATED. THE CONTACT'S CHILD SUFFERED A MINOR HEAD INJURY THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V415000 (STRUCTURE); HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 40,147.
