Catastrophic failure of a brand new 2023 Genesis GV 70 on 6/6/23. The GV70 was purchased on 4/29/23 with 22 miles. It was not driven between 5/12/23 and 5/26/23 while I was out of the country. On the evening on 6/6/23 as I was merging onto the northbound lanes of the Baltimore Washington Parkway from I-295 DC, the vehicle violently shook, burning smell, and then shut off completely, including the steering column. I was able to partially drift to a right shoulder with the driver side of the vehicle still in a lane of traffic. I called the U.S. Park Police for assistance crawled over to the passenger side and put my seatbelt on in case the vehicle was hit. The USPS arrived and immediately blocked a lane of traffic and called Maryland DOT for further assistance because of the hazardous situation. Could not be towed because it would not...
