On 2/17/2026 I was driving from my home to a fast food restaurant one mile away from my home. After picking up the food I dropped the food off about 3 miles down the road to my family member at their work and drove the 3.3 miles back from my family members work to my home. I arrived at my home and was walking into the house around 12:30 pm my car was off and locked. During my drive the car performed completely fine, there was no codes, no noises, no smells, the car drove how i would describe as intended. But at around 12:45 my neighbors were banging and ringing my doorbell to tell me that my car was on fire. I proceeded to escort my aunt and my grandmother out of the home as i watched my car continue to smoke and watched the flames continue to rise. Once removed from the home i called 911 who took my information down and informed me that a similar call was received a new minutes before and that fire, police and EMS were on the way. I watched as the car completely engulfed in flames and the fire department worked to put the fire out. The car is completely lost and resulted in damages to my garage and my other car parked next to it. I know previous genesis models have had recalls for issues in the engine bay that could result in fires. I do not see a recall for my vehicle but given the unexplainable cause of the fire at this time, believe it may be beneficial to submit a report.

#11684937 | FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | | N/A miles
My 2020 Genesis G70 is affected by Recall 24V-528 (high-pressure fuel pump defect). About 10 months after the recall service was marked “completed,” my car began showing DTC P0088 (Fuel Rail/System Pressure Too High), which is directly tied to the recall defect. On 8/30/25 car was hesitating when just slowly pulling out of driveway, and check engine light came on and stayed on. The car jerks and vibrates when foot is on the gas. There is now a very strong gasoline odor inside and outside the car, which was also noticed by a Genesis dealership employee when I pulled into the service garage. This raises serious fire and safety concerns. The dealer has told me the fuel pump and fuel line must be replaced. While all parts should be covered, I am currently waiting to hear from the dealership in regards to if Genesis approves/agrees to cover the costs of the repairs needed to my car. I was forced to drive 1 hour and 40 minutes to the nearest Genesis dealership on 9/3 while the car was unsafe, with my child in the vehicle at times. This was extremely dangerous. I was also initially told I would have to either drive the unsafe vehicle back home while waiting for approval or pay for a rental myself. Only after I became very upset and crying, was I given a loaner. That loaner has a 100-mile per day limit, yet I live about 100 miles away from the dealership, making it impractical. This defect is ongoing and unresolved. Genesis has not yet confirmed coverage of all related parts, and I am concerned the recall repair was inadequate. Safety Concerns: Risk of fuel leak/fire from defective pump/fuel system. Strong fuel odor indicating vapor or liquid leak. Unsafe requirement to drive long distance while defect is present. Dealer attempting to deny full repair coverage under recall.

We have been trying to get a dealership to service our recall for months. We were told they don't do them at a few Genesis dealerships in the area and then one told they don't have the the parts and to check back with them and that was months ago and the still don't have what's needed. I am fearful for my family's safety and can't seem to get any assistance in getting this matter resolved. We visited the following dealerships: West Houston Hyundai Genesis 16803 Katy Fwy, Houston TX, 77094 Genesis of Spring 20440 Interstate 45, Spring TX, 77373 We called via phone the following dealership: (and was told they don't service Genesis) Sterling Mccall Hyundai 10301 Southwest Fwy, Houston TX, 77074
