I know that the 2015-2019 Ford Flex is being recalled for rear camera issues and "B" pillar mldgs. coming loose. My 2014 Flex has these same issues. What about earlier models?

LIGHTS WILL NOT GO OFF INSIDE CAR SAYS THERE IS A DOOR OPEN MAKES IT VERY UNSAFE FOR ME TO DRIVE RUNS DOWN CAR BATTERY ALARM GOES OFF EVERY NIGHT DUE TO THIS ELECTRICAL FLAW

VEHICLE CENTER CONSOLE (ALSO KNOWN BY FORD AS THE GLOVE BOX) LATCH ATTACHMENT, HAS SEPARATED PER FORD TECH AND WILL NO LONGER SECURE LATCH ASSEMBLY TO ARMREST ASSEMBLY. THIS FAILURE RESULTS IN THE CENTER CONSOLE LATCH NOT SECURING THE ARMREST. AS THE ARMREST IS NOT SECURED, IT ENTERS THE AREA AROUND THE DRIVER AND IMPEDES DRIVING, IMPACTING SAFETY WHILE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. THIS IS A KNOWN FAILURE THAT HAS REPORTEDLY OCCURRED ON MULTIPLE VEHICLES UP TO ABOUT MODEL YEAR 2014 (FORD FLEX), REF NHTSA REPORT 11152858 FOR EXAMPLE. VEHICLE IS UNDER WARRANTY BY FORD AND REPAIR IS UNDER REVIEW CURRENTLY BY FORD, AS IT WAS INITIALLY DECLINED TO BE COVERED FOR UNEXPLAINED REASONS. PER DEALERSHIP, ENTIRE ARMREST ASSEMBLY REQUIRES REPLACEMENT AS THE ATTACHING POINTS ARE NON-REPAIRABLE. FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 44,000 MILES. FAILURE WAS NOT CAUSED BY OWNER'S ACTIONS THAT WOULD BE CONSIDERED AS NEGLIGENT.

THE SENSOR ON MY PASSENGER DOOR HAS GONE OUT, CAUSING THE CAR TO BELIEVE THE DOOR IS OPEN EVEN WHEN IT IS NOT. THERE IS ALSO A CONSISTENT ISSUE WITH ONE SEATBELT, SOMETIMES IT WILL LOCK INTO PLACE WHEN NOT IN USE, AND SOMETIMES IT WILL NOT ALLOW ME TO BUCKLE IT.

WHEN TEMPERATURES ARE LESS THAN 40 DEGREES F, THE REAR HATCH WILL NOT LATCH WHEN CLOSED AFTER BEING OPENED. THE HATCH OPENS FINE, BUT IT WILL NOT LATCH UNLESS WARMED. I HAVE HAD IT CHECKED BY A FORD DEALER AND AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT NO SOLUTION HAS BEEN FOUND. THIS MORNING, I HAD TO USE A HAIR DRYER TO WARM THE LATCH IN ORDER TO GET IT TO CLOSE. TEMPERATURES WERE AROUND FREEZING. THE VEHICLE IS ALWAYS STATIONARY WHEN I OPEN THE HATCH, AND I WILL NOT MOVE IT AS LONG AS THE HATCH WILL NOT LATCH.

FRONT PASSENGER DOOR OPEN LIGHT WILL REMAIN ON, DESPITE BEING SECURED CLOSED CAUSING INTERIOR LIGHTS TO REMAIN ON UNTIL 10 MPH. THIS IS A PROBLEM WHEN REVERSING AT NIGHT. WE DON'T REVERSE ABOVE 10MPH AND IT IS DIFFICULT TO SEE. IT IS ALSO A PROBLEM DRIVING IN TRAFFIC AT NIGHT. WE ALSO WORRY THE LIGHT WILL DRAIN OUR BATTERY.

POWER STEERING QUIT WHILE IN A PARKING LOT. I STOPPED, SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE, AND IT RESET. THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR AJAR LIGHT CONSTANTLY STAYS ON, EVEN THOUGH THE DOOR IS SHUT. THIS WILL NOT ALLOW THE DOORS TO BE LOCKED, AND THE INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON UNTIL THE VEHICLE REACHES 15 MPH. IT HAS ALSO CAUSED THE LIGHTS TO STAY ON INSIDE THE CAR, DRAINING THE BATTERY.

OUR 2014 FORD FLEX INDICATES PASSENGER DOOR AJAR (RIGHT FRONT DOOR) ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL, EVEN THOUGH THE DOOR APPEARS PROPERLY CLOSED. REPEATED ATTEMPTS (UP TO 50 OR MORE) ARE REQUIRED TO GET THE DOOR TO CLOSE WITH THE INDICATOR LIGHT TURNING OFF. ONCE THE DOOR IS CLOSED PROPERLY, WITH THE INDICATOR LIGHT OFF, THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT MAY TURN ON AGAIN WHILE THE CAR IS OFF AND NOT MOVING, CAUSING THE ALARM TO SOUND. IN ADDITION, WHILE DRIVING, THE PASSENGER DOOR AJAR LIGHT MAY SUDDENLY TURN ON, CAUSING THE NEED TO PULL OVER TO INSURE THE DOOR IS CLOSED PROPERLY. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON TURNS AND ON STRAIGHT ROADS. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD, AS PARKING ALONG THE SIDE OF A HIGHWAY OR ROADWAY CAN CAUSE A DANGEROUS SITUATION NOT ONLY FOR THE PASSENGER RIDING IN THE FRONT SEAT BUT ALSO FOR ALL PASSENGERS IN THE CAR.
