The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the lug nuts needed to be replaced and the failure was a known issue. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was then towed to a tire store where the lug nut set was replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact the NHTSA Hotline.
