Vehicle: 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning Pro VIN: [XXX] This vehicle is subject to a fire-related battery recall issued by Ford Motor Company. The vehicle has been at an authorized Ford dealership (West Herr, New York) since December 26 for recall repair. As of today, it has been out of service for 53 days. The dealership has stated that the delay is due to EV battery lift capacity limitations and that my vehicle is waiting behind another truck because they only have one lift capable of performing the repair. No firm repair completion date has been provided. For over seven weeks, I have received no proactive communication from the dealership regarding repair status. All updates have required me to initiate contact. This complaint is being filed to document prolonged failure to complete a fire-related safety recall due to dealership capacity constraints. Panoramic sunroof spontaneously exploded while driving.
I placed groceries in my front trunk “Frunk” and they shifted while trying to leave. Once shifted they hit the emergency release button inside the frunk which opened the frunk hood unexpectedly. These should be covered or less accessible inside the frunk.
When going into reverse the reverse camera, and 360 cameras will lag significantly. In the best case situation you just slow down and let the cameras catch up. But some times it does not, then you have to put the truck back into park then launch the cameras again. This is also a large issue when parking next to close objects as the ultra sonics and cameras that show how close you are to object will also lag. This makes it hard to position the vehicle in situations where it is most needed. Software updates to date have done nothing to improve these experence.
I went to start my F150 Lightning this morning and got two messages on the dash. The first message was "service vehicle soon" and the second message was "stop safely now". This is the second time I have gotten these messages and my truck was taken to the local dealership after the first incidence. The dealer had it for a week and said they replaced a battery module. My truck drove fine for a week after the dealer service and now has the same issue again. When these messages appear, the truck can operate but only at a significantly limited speed.
on 4 occasions, my lightening simply died and tow vehicles had to be dispatched. each time it happened, the vehicle was parked and turned off. and would not start. it has been in 3 different ford shops for a total of about 30 days. i took delivery of the vehicle in oct 2022.
The PDWS is annoying, and the fact it is mandated is beyond stupid. EV's should be quiet, and this thing makes the most annoying beeps in reverse, with even more obnoxious sounds moving forward. Please rethink this requirement for automotive manufactures as it is useless. The tires make a noise when rolling even at low speeds on all vehicles which should be warning enough. Majority of the vehicles in my subdivision you cannot hear until they are a foot away with an internal combustion engines when moving slow. If you get them going at 10 – 15 mph the tires are quite loud.
On October 4, 2022 at ~1:30 p.m. EDT I was stopped at a red light when an extremely loud pop and deafening noise "exploded" in the truck cabin. If I had been driving at the time, the sudden and extreme noise could have caused me to react in a way to lose control of the vehicle. After the light changed, I turned into a business entrance, turned the vehicle off, got out of the vehicle, locked the door, and the noise still continued for several seconds. After the noise stopped, I got back in the vehicle, restarted it, and the noise returned. The noise sounds like it is coming from the sound system at more than full volume. I estimate the sound level at well over 100 dB. Trying to turn off the sound system had no effect on the problem. I had to drive my truck for at least...
