As my wife was driving down the interstate, the car began shuddering. She pulled off, and the shuddering became very bad at about 30 MPH. The car flashed an error code which turned out to be the transmission. 2 Ford dealerships recommended a full transmission replacement for $10,800.
The contact owns a 2023 Ford Edge. The contact stated while parking and turning the engine off, the vehicle lunged forward after depressing the brake pedal. The failure had also occurred in reverse while reversing into a parking space, turning the vehicle off, and depressing the brake pedal. On one occasion the failure occurred causing the vehicle to lurch forward and the passenger side mirror struck a second vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who reprogrammed the transmission software, but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 56,000.
