Recall 22V891000 — SERVICE BRAKES, AIR

| 394 vehicles affected

Defect: Entegra Coach (Entegra) is recalling certain 2015-2019 Aspire and Insignia motorhomes. The service and supply reservoirs have an insufficient volume of air for the brake system. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 121, "Air Brake Systems."

Consequence: The undersized air brake supply reservoir may provide an insufficient air supply to properly operate the brakes during repetitive braking, reducing braking performance and increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will replace the air reservoir, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 21, 2022. Owners may contact Entegra customer service at 1-800-283-8267.

Recall 18V181000 — STEERING:HYDRAULIC POWER ASSIST:HOSE, PIPING, AND CONNECTIONS

| 130 vehicles affected

Defect: Entegra Coach (Entegra) is recalling certain 2011-2012 and 2015-2016 Aspire built on Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation (FCCC) chassis. The power steering hose on the affected vehicles may be routed incorrectly, and, as a result, the hose may rub against the power stud on the starter motor, possibly causing electrical arcing and a power steering fluid leak.

Consequence: Electrical arcing in the presence of leaking power steering fluid can increase the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Entegra will notify owners, and Freightliner dealers will reroute the power steering hose to provide proper clearance, free of charge. The recall began on May 1, 2018. Owners may contact Entegra customer service at 1-800-517-9137.

Defect: Entegra Coach (Entegra) is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 Aspire and Aspire TK motorhomes manufactured July 14, 2014, to January 15, 2016. The throttle pedal position sensor on the affected vehicles may not return to zero, causing the engine brake to suddenly not activate as expected, reducing the vehicle's deceleration ability.

Consequence: A sudden loss of an engine brake without warning on a motorhome may lead to a reduced brake capacity potentially increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA), manufacturer of the motorhome chassis, has notified owners, and DTNA dealers will replace the throttle pedal, free of charge. The recall began on August 15, 2016. Owners may contact Entegra customer service at 1-800-945-4787 or...

Recall 16V463000 — SERVICE BRAKES, ELECTRIC

| 30 vehicles affected

Defect: Entegra Coach (Entegra) is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 Aspire vehicles manufactured July 14, 2014, to January 15, 2016 and built on Daimler Trucks North America motorhome chassis. On these vehicles, equipped with a heavier, adjustable foot pedal, the brake activation signal to certain towed devices may not deactivate when the motorhome service brakes are released.

Consequence: If the brake activation signal to a towed device remains active when the motorhome chassis service brakes are released, the brakes on a towed device may remain engaged depending on brake configuration of the trailer. Additionally, following drivers may be confused by the motorhome's actions, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Daimler Trucks will notify owners, and their dealers will modify the affected brake assemblies, free of charge. The recall began on June 6, 2016 . Owners may contact Entegra customer service at 1-800-945-4787 or Daimler Trucks customer service at 1-800-547-0712.

In the affected vehicles, the fasteners that attach the stay rod (v-rod) to the rear drive axle may not have been installed with thread locker or tightened in the correct sequence.

Consequence: If the fasteners come loose, the stay rod may disconnect from the rear axle, resulting in a loss of control, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Entegra will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fasteners using thread lock, tightening them in the proper sequence and with the required torque values, free of charge. The recall began on August 12, 2015. Owners may contact Entegra customer...

Most Recent Complaints

#11180587 | TIRES | | 21,000 miles
GOODYEAR G670RV TIRE FAILURE
#11174834 | TIRES | | 24,000 miles
ON DEC. 12, 2018, I EXPERIENCED A BLOWOUT ON MY 2015 ENTEGRA ASPIRE THAT HAD ABOUT 24,000 MILES ON IT. I WAS TRAVELING EASTBOUND ON I-10, NEAR MARIANNA, FLORDIA AT ABOUT 63MPH. THE RIGHT FRONT PASSENGER TIRE THAT BLEW OUT WAS A GOODYEAR G670 WITH A DATE OF 18/4 (APRIL, 2014). I WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE MOTORHOME AND PULL IT OVER SAFELY. NO OTHER VEHICLES WERE INVOLVED,NO ONE WAS INJURIED AND MY TOW VEHICLE WAS NOT DAMAGED. THE BLOWOUT BLEW OFF THE FRONT WHEEL WELL FENDER AND DESTROYED THE ELECTRICAL WIRING IN THIS AREA. THE DOOR AND THE ELECTRICAL STEPS WERE DAMAGED. THE PERMANENT STEPS WERE BROKEN AND THE TILES AROUND THE PASSENGER SEAT WERE CRACKED. ALSO THE WINDSHIELD ON THE PASSENGER SIDE RECEIVED A HOLE AND CRACKS OF ABOUT 12 INCHES IN DIAMETER. THE WIRING TO THE BIG AWNING WAS DESTROYED. THESE ARE JUST THE OBVIOUS THINGS I OBSERVED. THE BLOWOUT HAPPENED ABOUT 4:00PM. WE SAT ON THE SIDE OF THE INTERSTATE FOR ABOUT 6 HOURS. THE POLICE WERE A NO SHOW. ABOUT 10:00PM THE TIRE MAN SHOWED UP. HE REPLACED OUR TIRE AND SAID HE THOUGHT THE MOTORHOME WAS DRIVABLE. I DROVE THE RV TO THE REST AREA THAT WAS ABOUT 5 MILES AWAY. THE WRECKER SERVICE WAS WAITING FOR US AT THE REST AREA. AFTER HE EXAMINED THE MOTORHOME HE THOUGHT I SHOULD DRIVE IT TO A REPAIR SHOP INSTEAD OF HAVING IT TOWED. HE TRIED TO BRING IN THE ELECTRICAL STEPS BUT THEY WOULD NOT COME IN. I PARKED THE COACH IN THE REST AREA FOR THE NIGHT. ON DEC. 13TH, I SLOWLY DROVE THE MOTORHOME TO ALLIANCE COACH IN DAVENPORT, FLORDIA. THE MOTORHOME HAS NOW BEEN IN THE COLLISION CENTER FOR 8 WEEKS. THE ORIGINAL ESTIMATE WAS FOR OVER $10,000. THE SUPPLEMENTAL CLAIMS HAVE NOT BEEN FILED YET. THE WIRING WAS MORE COMPLICATED THAN ORIGINALLY THOUGHT. THE FENDER HAS FINALLY COME IN.
#11166443 | TIRES | | 32,750 miles
I WAS TRAVELING ON INTERSTATE 75 NORTHBOUND JUST NORTH OF OCALA, FL WHEN MY 2015 ENTEGRA ASPIRE MOTORHOME SUFFERED A TIRE BLOWOUT TO THE LEFT FRONT STEER TIRE. THE TIRE TYPE IS A GOODYEAR G670RV 295/80R22.5. THERE WERE NO PRIOR INDICATIONS THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE TIRE. THE INCIDENT RESULTED IN MOMENTARY LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL AS WELL AS CAUSING SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO THE MOTORHOME IN THE WHEEL WELL AREA. THIS AREA HOUSED A WIRING HARNESS AND SUPPORT STRUCTURES FOR THE BODY COMPONENTS OF THE VEHICLE. ADDITIONALLY, THE TIRE BELT FRAGMENTS DAMAGED THE VEHICLE I WAS TOWING AND CAUSED DAMAGE TO ANOTHER PERSON'S VEHICLE WHO WAS BEHIND MY MOTORHOME ON THE HIGHWAY. AFTER THE INCIDENT OCCURED MY WIFE POSTED ON AN ENTEGRA SOCIAL MEDIA GROUP WHAT HAD HAPPENED AND IT APPEARS THAT THERE ARE A MULTITUDE OF OTHER PEOPLE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE SAME MAKE AND MODEL OF TIRE ON THEIR MOTORHOME. I SUBSEQUENTLY HAVE PURCHASED A DIFFERENT BRAND OF REPLACEMENT TIRES FOR THE MOTORHOME AS I DO NOT TRUST THE GOODYEAR TIRES ON THE MOTORHOME. THE DATE CODE ON THE TIRES WERE (1914) SO ABOUT 4 YEARS OLD. THERE WERE NO SIGNS OF DRY ROTTING ON THE TIRES AND THE VEHICLE DOES NOT SIT FOR EXTENDED PERIODS OF TIME.
