I OWN A 2012 DUCATI 1199 PANIGALE. I AM THE 2ND OWNER OF THE MOTORCYCLE AND IT IS JUST 3 MONTHS OUT OF ORIGINAL MANUFACTURER WARRANTY. THE MOTORCYCLE IS 100% STOCK AND HAS NOT BEEN MODIFIED. THE LOWER RIGHT SIDE FAIRING/BODY PANEL IS MELTING/BURNING DUE TO EXHAUST HEAT. THERE HAVE BEEN A NUMBER OF THESE EXACT ISSUES ON THE SAME MOTORCYCLES ( ACROSS THE COUNTRY). DUCATI ISSUED A NEWER VERSION OF LOWER RIGHT SIDE FAIRING WHICH FIXED THIS ISSUE BUT THEY HAVE NOT ISSUED A RECALL FOR MOTORCYCLES ALREADY SOLD WITH DEFECTIVE PART. MY DEALER, BARNETTE SUZUKI AND DUCATI IS NOT ABLE TO REPLACE THE FAIRING WITHOUT APPROVAL FROM DUCATI USA. THIS IS A FIRE AND SAFETY ISSUE. IF I CONTINUE TO USE THE MOTORCYCLE, THE MOTORCYCLE WILL CATCH ON FIRE, AT THE VERY LEAST THE ENTIRE LEFT SIDE FAIRING WILL BURN RESULTING IN EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO THE MOTORCYCLE. THIS ISSUE CAN ALSO RESULT IN INJURY OR DEATH BECAUSE RIGHT SIDE FAIRING ALSO HOUSES A LOT OF ELECTRICAL SENSORS AND WIRING. PLEASE HELP, I AM IN DANGER OF INJURING MYSELF FROM FIRE OR CRASH IF I CONTINUE TO USE THE MOTORCYCLE. THANK YOU
