Consequence: An inflator rupture may result in metal fragments striking the vehicle occupants resulting in serious injury or death.

Consequence: In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the driver's frontal air bag, the inflator could rupture with metal fragments striking the vehicle occupants potentially resulting in serious injury or death.

Recall 14V706000 — EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY

Defect: Cummings Mobility Conversion & Supply (Cummings) is recalling certain model year 2006-2014 Ford E-150, E-250, E-350, Chevrolet Express, 2006-2008 Dodge Sprinter, and 2009-2014 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, and 2013 Ford Transit Connect vehicles manufactured January 1, 2006, to October 8, 2014, equipped with certain model S2005, S2010, S5005, S5010, S5505, and S5510 wheelchair lifts manufactured by Ricon Corporation after January 1, 2006....

Consequence: If the platform side plates crack, the lift platform can separate from the lift and come to rest against the vehicle's lift door. When the doors are opened, the platform may fall out, increasing the risk of injury to the lift operator.

Remedy: Cummings will notify owners to take buses to a Ricon dealer or service center who will install supplemental platform support bumpers. Any platform that has already started cracking will be replaced, free of charge. The recall began January 13, 2015....

Defect: SPRINTER WILL RECALL 6 MY 2007 DODGE 3500 AND FREIGHTLINER 3500 VEHICLES. THE THREADED BUSH OF THE BRAKE ADJUSTMENT OF THE PARKING BRAKE MAY BREAK. THE THREADED BUSH TOGETHER WITH THE ADJUSTMENT SCREW MAY DETACH FROM ITS BRACKET.

Consequence: IF THIS OCCURRED, THE PARKING BRAKE FUNCTION MAY BE LOST. THIS COULD ALLOW THE VEHICLE TO MOVE INADVERTENTLY AND CAUSE A CRASH WITHOUT WARNING.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE PARKING BRAKE ADJUSTMENT. THE RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN ON OR ABOUT MARCH 27, 2009. OWNERS MAY CONTACT SPRINTER AT 1-843-695-5000.

Defect: SPRINTER IS RECALLING 34 MY 2007-2008 DODGE AND FREIGHTLINER SPRINTER 3500 CARGO VANS. SOME OF THESE VANS MAY NOT HAVE HAD THE CORRECT BRAKE COMPONENTS INSTALLED.

Consequence: THIS COULD RESULT IN POOR BRAKING PERFORMANCE, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.

Recall 07V594000 — ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:DIESEL

Defect: ON CERTAIN UTILITY VANS, THE CRANKSHAFT SENSOR IN CERTAIN DIESEL ENGINES COULD FAIL DUE TO SEPARATION OF BOND WIRES FROM THE LEAD FRAME IN THE SENSOR. THIS RESULTS IN AN INTERRUPTION IN THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTION IN THE CHIP HOUSING OF THE SENSOR.

Consequence: WHEN THIS HAPPENS, THE VEHICLES MAY LOSE POWER RATHER THAN ENTER A LIMP-HOME MODE. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE CANNOT BE RESTARTED AFTER FAILURE OF THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTION IN THE SENSOR, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.

Defect: ON CERTAIN TRUCKS, THE SCREW BOLTS OF THE FUEL TANK FASTENING STRAPS MAY NOT HAVE BEEN TIGHTENED CORRECTLY. AFTER NORMAL PRODUCTION PROCESS, THE VEHICLES ARE DISASSEMBED FOR SHIPMENT TO THE US AND THE BOLTS MAY NOT HAVE BEEN CORRECTLY TIGHTENED WHEN RE-ASSEMBLED.

Consequence: THE FUEL TANK CAN LOOSEN AND LEAK FUEL. FUEL LEAKAGE IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE CAN RESULT IN A FIRE.

The contact owns 2008 Winnebago View RV built on a 2007 Dodge Sprinter 3500 Chassis. The contact stated that the key fob failed to open the doors of the recreational vehicle. The contact stated that he attempted to replace the batteries however, the failure continued. The contact went to an unknown Dodge dealer who informed him that he would need to go to a Mercedes- Benz dealer for a key fob code. The contact stated that he was informed that the codes were located and Mercedes-Benz in Europe; and the USA dealers were unable to get the codes. The contact stated that the key fob needed a software update and code to work. The manufacturer Mercedes-Benz complaint department was contacted and a case was opened. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000.

NICK WITH SERVICE SAID A BRAKE SWITCH AND THE BATTERY WERE NEEDED AND I AUTHORIZED THAT WORK, AND IT WAS COMPLETED. THEN NICK CONTACTED ME SAYING IT WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK AND THAT A SHIFTER ASSEMBLY AND AN AMBIENT AIR SENSOR REPLACEMENT WERE NOW REQUIRED TO GET THE RV WORKING. THE SHIFTING PROBLEM IS WHY IT WAS ORIGINALLY TOWED IN. I AM FEELING THAT THE FOCUS OF MY CONCERNS WERE UNADDRESSED INITIALLY BY THE SERVICE DEPT. I SPOKE WITH THE PREVIOUS OWNER AND WAS TOLD THE BATTERY WAS NOT EVEN THREE YRS OLD, YET NICK SAID THAT THE BATTERY THEY TOOK OUT WAS NO LONGER THERE, THAT TWO DAYS AFTER IT WAS TAKEN OUT, IT WAS PICKED UP TO BE RECYCLED. WAS THE BATTERY STILL UNDER WARRANTY? WAS THE BRAKE SWITCH REPLACEMENT NECESSARY, SINCE IT DID NOT TAKE CARE OF THE SHIFTING PROBLEM AFTER THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN REPLACED IT? I WAS TOLD BY A MECHANIC TO MAKE A COMPLAINT WITH NHTSA AS THIS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM HE ENCOUNTERED WITH THE DODGE SPRINTER 3500. NHTSA AGENT, BEAU, GAVE ME AN ODI COMPLAINT #: 11078745, THEN RECOMMENDED I LOG A COMPLAINT WITH FCA NORTH AMERICA, WHICH I DID, AND WAS GIVEN A CASE # 33667091. I AM NOT HAPPY. I NEED TO MEET WITH YOUR K AND M MANAGEMENT TEAM TO ADDRESS MY CONCERNS.
