TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 DODGE RAM 3500 MEGACAB. WHILE THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH OVER A BUMP, THE STEERING WHEEL BEGAN TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO SWERVE UNCONTROLLABLY OFF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE CAME TO A STOP WHEN THE BRAKES WERE ENGAGED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER THERE TIMES FOR THE FAILURE. THE REPAIRS CONSISTED OF REPLACING THE FRONT TIE RODS, STEERING STABILIZER, AND THE FRONT UPPER AND LOWER BALL JOINTS. THE TRACK BAR AND BOLTS, FRONT OUTER WHEEL BEARING AND STEERING GEAR WERE ALSO INCLUDED IN THE REPAIRS. THE REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED AT DIFFERENT TIMES. THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO OCCUR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 81,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 DODGE RAM 3500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH AND APPLYING THE BRAKES, THE DRIVER SIDE TIE ROD ASSEMBLY FRACTURED. THE CONTACT HAD EXTREME TROUBLE CONTROLLING THE VEHICLE AND WAS ABLE TO COAST IT TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TOWED TO A LOCAL MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED AND REPLACED THE TIE ROD FAILURE. THE CONTACT LATER RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 11V350000 (STEERING:LINKAGES:TIE ROD ASSEMBLY). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.

BOUGHT THE 3500 MEGACAB CUMMINS WITH THE G56 6 SPEED MANUAL IN NOV 2005 AND BY THE WAY THIS WAS THE 3RD CUMMINS I'VE OWNED AND THE WORST, GREAT MOTOR BUT NOT HAPPY WITH MANUFACTURE THIS TIME. SO I BOUGHT IN NOV 05 AND DEC.25 STARTED IT UP AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYED ON, SO I SHUT IT OFF AND CALLED DEALER NEXT DAY. THIS WAS THE START OF IT ALL. EVERY 3DAY THIS WOULD HAPPEN AND I HAD TO DRIVE 23 MILES TO DEALER TO HAVE THEM PLUG IT UP TO COMPUTER AND STILL COULD NOT TELL ME WHAT WAS WRONG. THIS WENT ON FOR 14 MONTHS ENDED UP BUYING MY OWN MODULE TO RESET MYSELF. WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND I ROLL OVER A BUMP IN THE ROAD, THE FRONT END SHAKES AND WOBBLES VIOLENTLY UNTIL I SLOW DOWN TO ALMOST A COMPLETE STOP FOR IT TO STOP THIS VIOLENT ACTION. TOTAL PARTS COST 2142.71. THE TRUCK HAS 119,331 KILOMETRES (74,149 MILES) ON IT AND HAS ONLY BEEN USED FOR PERSONAL TRANSPORTATION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND ALSO INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE ABOVE RECALL. NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 98,000.
