WHENEVER I FILL MY GAS TANK, THE VEHICLE WILL STALL WITHIN ONE OR TWO BLOCKS FROM GAS PUMPS. IT CAN HAPPEN AT 20 MILES AN HOUR OR LESS. IT CAN HAPPEN ENTERING A HIGHWAY AT 50 MILES PER HOUR. THE CAR WILL START RIGHT UP AND WILL NORMALLY RUN FINE AFTER STALLING. ON ONE OR TWO OCCASIONS IT STALLED TWICE AFTER A FILL UP. LATELY IT HAPPENS AFTER EACH FILL UP REGARDLESS OF GAS STATION OR BRAND OF GAS.
SUDDEN ENGINE STALL MOSTLY FEW MILES AFTER FUEL CHARGE. THIS PROBLEMS WERE HAPPENED FROM SEVERAL MONTHS AGO, AND BECOMING MORE FREQUENT ALMOST EVERY FUEL CHARGE. WHEN STALL ENGINE, IT'S DIFFICULT RESTART FEW MINUTES. ONE CASE SUDDEN STALL AT DRIVING MAKES ME PANIC LOOSING POWER ASSIST OF STEERING AND BRAKE, ALMOST HIT SIDE WALK AT MY NEIGHBORHOOD. ASKED DEALERSHIP TO SEE AND MADE SOME REPAIR FOR FUEL INJECTION, EGR VALVE. BUT PROBLEM WAS NOT FIXED. IT'S VERY DANGEROUS.
OVER THE COURSE OF THE PAST SIX MONTHS, MY ENGINE HAS MISSED AND STALLED AFTER REFUELING. THIS OCCURS AFTER EACH REFUELING AND IS A SAFETY CONCERN AS THERE IS NO WARNING THEN THE STALL MAY OCCUR. I'VE NOW INCURRED A VERY LARGE EXPENSE OF $2,340 TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM. THIS IS QUITE OBVIOUSLY A PROBLEM THAT CHRYSLER IS AWARE OF AND I UNDERSTAND THE MATTER IS BEING INVESTIGATED. I HOPE THAT CAR OWNERS SUCH AS ME WILL BE REIMBURSED FOR THE EXPENSE OF THIS COSTLY REPAIR. *TR
VEHICLE STALLED TWO TIMES AFTER FILLING GAS TANK. DIFFICULT TO RESTART--HAD TO TRY 3-4 TIMES TO GET THE CAR TO RESTART. EACH STALLING INCIDENT OCCURRED AS I CAME TO A STOP. *TR
2006 DODGE MAGNUM SRT 6.1 HAS STALLED SEVERAL TIMES. IT IS HARD TO RESTART AFTER IT STALLS. IT HAS BEEN TO DEALERSHIP ONCE FOR THE PROBLEM, HOWEVER IT CONTINUES TO OCCUR AT RANDOM. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 DODGE MAGNUM. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE STOPPED WORKING AND THE OIL LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF COMPLETELY AND HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIANS STATED THE VEHICLE HAD OVERHEATED; THE ENGINE WAS DAMAGED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THEY WOULD RETURN THE CALL BUT HAD NOT DONE SO. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 138,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 DODGE MAGNUM. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE VEHICLE OVERHEATED. THE CONTACT DROVE ONTO THE EMERGENCY LANE AND AFTER THIRTY MINUTES ADDED WATER TO THE RADIATOR RESERVOIR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SEVERAL AUTHORIZED DEALERSHIPS BUT THE DEALERS COULD NOT FIND THE DUPLICATE OR DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT ALSO SMELLED SMOKE IN THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SOMEONE ELSE DROVE THE VEHICLE AND OBSERVED THAT THE TEMPERATURE AND OIL LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL PRIOR TO THE ENGINE SHUTTING OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE OIL PUMP FAILED. THE DEALER WAS ALSO INSPECTING TO SEE IF THE WATER OUTLET VALVE WAS DEFECTIVE AT WHEN THE COMPLAINT WAS FILED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 75,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 90,359.
I BROUGHT A 2006 DODGE MAGNUM IN MARCH OF 2007 WITH 19,230 MILES. THE ENGINE IS NOW AT 50,000 MILES AND THE ENGINE IS NO GOOD. THE DODGE COMPANY CAN'T TELL EVEN TELL ME THE PROBLEM WITH THE ENGINE. *TR
ABOUT A WEEK AGO I NOTICED A TICKING/TAPPING NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE. I TOOK IT TO FIRESTONE NOT KNOWING IF IT WAS SOMETHING SERIOUS. AFTER INSPECTING THE VEHICLE HE STATES THAT IT SOUNDED LIKE A LIFTER BUT HE WAS NOT SURE, SO I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. SINCE MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS NOT ON THERE WERE NO CODES FOR THEM TO LOOK UP. SO I WAS QUOTED THIS RIDICULOUS PRICE TO HAVE MY ENGINE LOOKED AT. I DECLINED AND TOOK THE VEHICLE TO ANOTHER LOCAL MECHANIC WHO VERIFIED THAT IT WAS A LIFTER. THE VEHICLE ONLY 41,000 MILES ON IT AND THE WARRANTY EXPIRED AT 36,000 MILES. *TR
THE SAME DAY I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE THE OIL LIGHT WAS ON, NEXT DAY OFF, COMPLAIN TO THE DEALER...IT WENT TO THE SHOP ...THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING...NEXT DAY LIGHT BACK ON..THEY SENT IT TO THE SHOP AGAIN.....NEXT DAY GUESS WHAT, YES LIGHT BACK ON..THEY DON'T HAVE A CLUE....THIS IS CRAZY.....SOMEONE MESSED UP.....NEED TO BE CORRECTED.....NOT ASKING FOR BLOOD, JUST FIX MY CAR....WILL THIS KILL MY FAMILY? WHO THE HECK KNOWS!!!! IT'S A MANUFACTURER PROBLEM THAT NEEDS ATTENTION. *TR

THE DEALER STATED THAT THE ENGINE AND THE OIL PUMP CAUSED THE FAILURE AND BOTH COMPONENTS WERE REPAIRED. CURRENTLY, THE TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING GEARS AND THE VEHICLE WILL NO LONGER SHIFT INTO REVERSE. THE POWERTRAIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 50,738 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 48,000. UPDATED 3/7/08 *CN THE EGINE WAS MAKING A TAPPING NOISE.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 DODGE MAGNUM. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN MISFIRING JUST DAYS AFTER IT WAS REPAIRED. WHEN THE CONTACT ATTEMPTS TO ACCELERATE, THE VEHICLE HESITATES AND THE ENGINE SHUTS OFF. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE POWER IS UNEVENLY DISTRIBUTED IN THE ENGINE, WHICH CAUSED THE ENGINE COILS TO BURN. THE DEALER REPLACED THE BURNED ENGINE COILS AT THE COST OF $400, HOWEVER, THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE LOSS OF FIRE. THE DEALER ALSO PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC ON THE VEHICLE, BUT LESS THAN A WEEK LATER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE STALLED ON FOUR OCCASIONS AND IS CURRENTLY UNABLE TO BE DRIVEN. THE ENGINE INDICATOR LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE DODGE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS AND WERE UNABLE TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED ON AUGUST 27, 2007 AND THE FAILURE RECURRED ON AUGUST 28, 2007. THE CONTACT IS AWARE OF THE SAFETY...
