I just bought the car, a 2011 Charger R/T AWD, and drove it home approx.400 km. I filled the fueltank full when coming home, and left the car still for 2 days now. I have been smelling a strong gas odor on the especially when the tank is full. Today while parked in my driveway I noticed a puddle of gas under the car too. The puddle was under the right rear seat. I haven't been able to take a look, as it is minus 20 degree here now and for the next week. Even if I noticed this just reasontly, this problem has been a while Hopefully this will be a matter the dealership can handle, as I can tell it is a worldwide issue I hope that the car being in Norway doesn't make it an issue, as it is just as dangerous problem here. ABS Wiring had a recall and replaced but the ABS Module is now out Air Bag had a recall but now the air bag clock spring is out Fuel Pump had an extended warranty but is now out and fuel pump needs replaced Crank shaft main bearing seal needs rplaced for an oil leak but other parts have been replaced for an oil leak within the past month
VERY STRONG GASOLINE ODOR AFTER FILLING TANK. NOTICED STRONG ODOR IN OUR GARAGE AND FOUND A LARGE PUDDLE OF GAS UNDER CAR DIRECTLY BENEATH THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE SEAT. UPON INVESTIGATION DISCOVERED THERE IS A SECONDARY FUEL PUMP AT THAT LOCATION THAT IS PRONE TO CRACKING/LEAKING. THE EXHAUST SYSTEM IS ALSO LOCATED ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE VEHICLE, WHICH CAUSES EVEN GREATER CONCERN FOR POSSIBILITY OF FIRE. I HAVE SEEN MANY OTHER COMPLAINTS OF THE SAME NATURE AND WOULD LIKE A LOGICAL EXPLANATION AS TO WHY THERE HAS BEEN NO RECALL FOR THIS EXTREME SAFETY ISSUE. IS IT BECAUSE NO ONE HAD BEEN KILLED BY IT--YET?
FUEL TANK RIGHT SIDE UNDER REAR PASSENGER SEAT HAS A LEAK. EVERY TIME THE VEHICLE IS FILLED WITH GASOLINE, THE FUEL LEAK STARTS AND GOES AWAY AFTER HALF THE TANK IS USED. IT'S LOCATED RIGHT AT THE TOP OF THE FUEL PUMP. THE FUMES OF THE GAS CAN BE SMELLED INSIDE THE CAB BECAUSE ITS DIRECTLY LOCATED UNDER THE SEAT. THIS IS AN OCCURRING PROBLEM WITH THIS YEAR OF CHARGERS AND IS DANGEROUS HAZARD. *TR
WHEN MY TANK IS FULL TO AROUND HALF FULL IT LEAKS GAS AND THERE IS A VERY STRONG SMELL ON THE BACK PASSENGER SIDE OUTSIDE OF THE CAR. INSIDE OF THE CAR IS INTOLERABLE. YOU HAVE TO DRIVE WITH THE WINDOWS DOWN. I'VE READ THIS IS A COMMON AND VERY DANGEROUS CHARGER PROBLEM BUT YET THERE IS NO RECALL.
FOR TWO YEARS NOW, FUEL LEAKS FROM MY TANK AFTER EVERY FILL UP. WHEN STATIONARY IT CREATES A GAS PUDDLE. THERE IS A STRONG FUEL SMELL IN MY GARAGE WHEN TANK IS MORE THAN HALF FULL. MANY OTHER 2011 CHARGERS ARE HAVING THIS ISSUE AS WELL. A MECHANIC ONLINE HAS STATED IT IS DUE TO A CRACKED AUXILIARY FUEL PUMP MODULE THAT SHOULD NOT BE THIS DAMAGED UNDER NORMAL USE.
FUEL PUMP (TOP) UNDER THE REAR PASSENGER SEAT DEVELOPS LEAKS AND SPILLS FUEL INTO AND EXPLOSIVE FUMES INTO THE PASSENGER AREA OF THE CAR. IN RESEARCHING THE PROBLEM ON GOOGLE I'M FINDING THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE 2011 DODGE CHARGER. IF THIS IS SUCH A WIDESPREAD AND DANGEROUS PROBLEM I CANNOT FOR THE LIFE OF ME UNDERSTAND WHY NHTSA HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL? PROBLEM OCCURS AFTER A FILL UP. DISCOLORATION ON THE PUMP SHOWS THE EXTENT/VOLUME OF GASOLINE POURING OUT INTO THE INTERIOR FLOOR PAN.
THE AUXILIARY FUEL PUMP FAIL AND LEAKED INTO THE REAR RIGHT HAND PASSENGER COMPARTMENT. I HAVE SPOKEN TO THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURE AND NO ONE IS WILLING TO HELP WITH THE VERY BIG FIRE HAZARD . THE LEAK HAPPENS WHEN THE CAR IS FILLED WITH FUEL AND THE TANK HAS ORE THE HALF A TANK OF FUEL.
I SMELLED THE STRONG ODOR OF GASOLINE INSIDE MY CHARGER. I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHO ADVISED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS LEAKING GAS FROM AROUND THE O RING AT THE FUEL PUMP WHICH IS LOCATED UNDER THE REAR PASSENGER SEAT. THE MECHANIC TIGHTENED THE COVER TO THE FUEL PUMP AND RETURNED THE VEHICLE. ABOUT A MONTH LATER THE VEHICLE WAS NOW VISIBLY LEAKING GAS FONTO THE GROUND AND THE FUEL SMELL INSIDE THE VEHICLE WAS INTOLERABLE. I RETURNED TO THE DEALER AND LEFT IT WITH THEM FOR A DAY IN WHICH TIME THEY REPLACED THE RING, TESTED IT AND FOUND NO FURTHER LEAKAGE AND RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO ME. BY THE NEXT MORNING THE VEHICLE WAS LEAKING AGAIN, THIS TIME MUCH WORSE. I HAD TO PARK IT AWAY FROM THE HOUSE FOR FEAR THAT IT MIGHT CAUSE AN EXPLOSION WHEN IF LEFT IN THE HOT GARAGE WITH THE FUMES...
PASSENGER SIDE FUEL PUMP LEAKING ON TOP OF TANK. WITH INTERNET RESEARCH FOUND THIS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM DUE TO POOR QUALITY PLASTIC CRACKING. CONTACT A DEALER NOT UNDER RECALL.
NOTICED GAS SMELL IMMEDIATELY AFTER FILLING GAS TANK COMPLETELY UP. A COUPLE DAYS LATER I HAD A VERY STRONG GAS SMELL INSIDE VEHICLE AND WHILE DRIVING. STARTED NOTICING THAT THERE WAS A MODERATE SIZE PUDDLE UNDER VEHICLE WHERE THE REAR SEAT IS. I'VE SEEN MANY REPORTS OF THIS HAPPENING AND IT DISTURBS ME THAT THERE HASN'T BEEN A RECALL.
I HAVE BEEN SMELLING GAS INSIDE OF THE CABIN OF MY CAR FOR A WHILE USUALLY ONLY IN THE MORNING OR AFTER MY CAR HAS BEEN SITTING A WHILE. FINALLY THIS MORNING, 2/5/2019, THE SMELL WAS SO BAD THAT I HAD A HEADACHE AND MY EYES WERE BURNING AND SO TOOK IT TO AN AUTO MECHANIC SHOP TO LOOK AT IT. THEY STATED THERE WAS A PUDDLE OF GASOLINE SITTING ON MY FUEL PUMP THAT IS UNDER THE PASSENGER SIDE SEAT. THAT IS THE SIDE MY DAUGHTER SITS ON AND SHE HAS BEEN COMPLAINING OF HEADACHES AS WELL. THE REPAIR SHOP SAID THAT IF I WERE TO HAVE GOTTEN INTO A WRECK AND THERE HAD BEEN A SPARK OF SOME SORT MY CAR WOULD HAVE GONE UP IN FLAMES BECAUSE THERE WAS A POOL OF GASOLINE SITTING ON THE FUEL PUMP.
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN, I RECENTLY HAD A VERY STRONG ODOR OF GASOLINE INSIDE OF MY VEHICLE AND NOTICED MY FUEL EFFICIENCY DIDN'T APPEAR TO BE AS GOOD AS NORMAL. I NOTICED ON CHRISTMAS EVE 12/24/18 THAT I HAD A VISIBLE FUEL TRAIL ON THE OUTSIDE GROUND, NEAR THE REAR PASSENGER-SIDE DOOR AS IT WAS PARKED. I HAVE SINCE NOT DRIVEN MY VEHICLE OUT OF CONCERN THAT THE ISSUE WOULD RESULT IN SOMETHING MUCH WORSE. I HAVE A CHILD AND WILL NOT PUT HIM OR MYSELF IN DANGER. RAW FUEL SMELL IN INTERIOR OF CAR, PART NUMBER 68159764AB PICKUP/LEVEL UNIT MODULE HAS CRACKING IN HOUSING CAUSING FUEL TO LEAK AND FUMES TO COME INTO CAR. THIS MODULE IS LOCATED UNDER THE REAR SEAT AREA OF THE CAR, AND HAS 2 PLASTIC BODY PLUGS THAT ARE SUPPOSED TO SEAL OUT THE FUMES BUT THEY FIT LOOSE AND DON'T SEAL VERY WELL, CALLED ULTIMATE DODGE IN MOUNTAIN HOME ARKANSAS AND TOLD THEM ABOUT THE COMPLAINT. THEY REPLIED IT WAS A RECALL, SCHEDULED A REPAIR ON 12/14/2018 TOOK VEHICLE IN, DEALERSHIP CALLED ME AND TOLD ME THAT IT IS NOT COVERED ACCORDING TO THE VIN #. I TOLD THEM THAT IT IS LEAKING FUEL AND THAT IT WAS A SAFETY ISSUE. THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY COULD NOT REPAIR IT BECAUSE IT WASN'T UNDER THE RECALL. STRONG FUEL ORDER WHEN FILL GAS TANK. I LOOKED ONLINE IT LOOKS LIKE A COMMON ISSUE. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SOMEONE'S GOING TO GET KILLED IF IT HASN'T HAPPENED ALREADY. THE GAS LEAKS OUT AT THE TOP OF THE FUEL SENDING UNIT LOCATED UNDER REAR SEAT ON THE PASSENGERS SIDE. WHEN I TOOK THE SEAT OFF THERE WAS A PUDDLE OF FUEL. AGAIN THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND SEEMS TO BE A VERY COMMON ISSUE AFTER READING ONLINE.

WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE (AUGUST 2017 WITH 130K MILES ON THE DASH) I SUDDENLY LOST THROTTLE RESPONSE AND I COULD NOT ACCELERATE. AT THIS POINT MOTOR BEGAN TO SHAKE AS I COASTED TO THE EDGE AS MY CAR SHUT OFF WHILE STILL IN THE RUN POSITION. A RED LIGHTING BOLT APPEARED AND MY VEHICLE DID NOT WANT TO START. AFTER ATTEMPTING TO START SEVERAL TIMES THE CAR FINALLY STARTED. TOOK IT TO A DEALER IN GARDEN CITY MICHIGAN WHERE THEY COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG. THE LIGHTING BOLT LIGHT WAS GONE AND ONLY A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT REMAINED. FAST FORWARD TWO MONTHS LATER THE SAME THING HAPPENED BUT I COULD NOT GET THE CAR TO START AND IT WAS TOWED TO THE SAME DEALER WITH A DEAD BATTERY THIS TIME. THEY KEPT IT FOR SEVERAL DAYS BUT COULD NOT PIN POINT THE ISSUE I.E. BAD THROTTLE BODY, BAD FUEL PUMPS...

ON THE MORNING OF 8/20 I DROVE 2 BLOCKS FROM MY HOUSE WHEN THE CHATTERY SAVE MODE TURNED ON ACCOMPANIED BY THE BATTERY LIGHT ON THE DASH SHORTLY AFTER THE CAR LOST POWER STEERING AND ALL ELECTRIC COMPONENTS SHUT OFF AND THEN THE CAR SHUTOFF AND WAS IMMOBILE AFTER THAT. I PUSHED THE CAR HOME AND THE CAR HASN'T TURNED OVER SINCE. I DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY AND USED A BATTERY CHARGER TO RECHARGE SO I CAN PUT MY WINDOWS UP WHEN I RECONNECTED THE BATTERY I PUT THE CAR IN RUN KNOWING THE ALTERNATOR WAS BAD AND PENDING RECALL. AS THE WINDOWS HIT THE CLOSED POSITION BLACK SMOKE STARTED COMING OFF THE ALTERNATOR AND I PROMPTLY DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY AGAIN COMPLETELY AFTER TURNING THE CAR INTO OFF POSITION AGAIN. THE ALTERNATOR CONTINUED TO SMOKE FOR 5 MINUTES AS I STARED AT IT WITH FIRE EXTINGUISHER IN HAND AND PHONE IN...
AFTER FUELING MY VEHICLE ABOVE 3/4THS (BUT NOT OVER FULL) A FUEL LEAK STARTED CAUSING EXTREME FUEL VAPORS TO BE PRESENT INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF CAR. EVEN WHEN THE CAR IS NOT BEING DRIVEN (WHILE VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF). THE FUMES ARE SO STRONG THAT THEY FILL MY GARAGE AND CAN BE SMELLED FROM 40 - 50 FEET AWAY AND I HAVE TO DRIVE WITH THE WINDOWS DOWN. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN. MANY OTHER FORUMS HAVE BEEN READ FOR ME TO REALIZE THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED INCIDENT, IS COMMON AMONG THIS MAKE/MODEL/YEAR, AND SHOULD BE CAUSE FOR A RECALL FOR SAFETY REASONS BEFORE SOMETHING BAD HAPPENS (FIRE, EXPLOSION, ETC). IT IS EXTREMELY FORTUNATE THIS DID NOT RESULT IN A FIRE OR DEATH WITH MY KIDS RIDING IN THIS CAR ON A DAILY BASIS. DODGE KNOWS ABOUT ISSUE AS TONS OF COMPLAINTS CAN BE FOUND ON LINE. MY VEHICLE IS A 2011 DODGE CHARGE 80,000 MILES. FOR ABOUT 4MONTHS ITS BEEN SMELLING LIKE FUME, GASOLINE INSIDE THE VEHICLE LIKE IF THERE WAS A LEAK WHEN THE CAR IS STATIONARY, IN MOTION AT ALL TIMES. WHEN I FILL MY GAS TANK THE SMELL GETS WORST. SINCE IT BEGAN TO SMELL LIKE GASOLINE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS BEEN ON. I HAVE NOT FIXED THE PROBLEM BECAUSE MECHANICS ARE WANTING APPROXIMATELY $500 TO FIX THE GASOLINE FUEL SYSTEM. I HOPE I DON'T BLOW UP.IT IS A UNSAFE CONDITION TO DRIVE MY VEHICLE BECAUSE I HAVE TWIN 1YEAR OLDS. I HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALER TO FIND IF THERE IS A RECALL BUT THEY STATE THEY DON'T.
WHEN THE CAR IS FILLED WITH GAS, IT EMITS A STRONG ODOR OF GAS AND LEAKS UNDER THE REAR PASSAGE SIDE OF CAR APPROX. 16 INCHES IN FRONT OF REAR TIRE. AS THE TANK GETS LOWER OF FUEL, THE SMELL IS NOT AS STRONG AND LEAK DISAPPEARS. THIS OCCURS WHEN THE CAR IS PARKED. IF THE CAR IS DRIVEN WITH A FULL FUEL TANK, THERE IS A STRONG GAS ODOR INSIDE THE CABIN. THIS SMELL LESSENS AS THE FUEL TANK EMPTIES. I HAVE TAKEN VIDEO OF THE EXTERIOR FUEL LEAK APPROX.17 HOURS AFTER FILL UP THAT SHOW A STEADY FUEL DRIP EVERY 12-15 SECONDS.
ON JULY 11TH 2016 I FILLED UP MY GAS TANK IMMEDIATELY AFTERWARDS WHILE DRIVING I NOTICED AN OVERWHELMING SMELL OF GASOLINE. 5 DAYS LATER THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THE CODE DETECTED A SMALL EVAP SYSTEM LEAK. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT SPORADICALLY ILLUMINATES AND THEN TURNS OFF ON ITS OWN. THE SMELL OF GASOLINE GOES AWAY WHEN THE TANK IS HALF FULL. WHEN THE TANK IS FULL, GASOLINE DRIPS DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THE PASSENGER REAR TIRE. UPON RESEARCHING THE PROBLEM ON THE INTERNET I DISCOVERED ON CARCOMPLAINTS.COM THAT OVER 40 PEOPLE HAVE COMPLAINED OF THIS SAME ISSUE. THE FUEL PUMP CONTINUES TO PUMP GAS ONCE THE CAR IS TURNED OFF. THE GAS TANK LEAKS WHEN THE TANK IS OVER HALF WAY FULL. ACCORDING TO OTHER COMPLAINTS ON CARCOMPLAINTS.COM CHRYSLER AND DODGE HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED OF THIS SAME PROBLEM MULTIPLE TIMES. FOR SEVERAL MONTHS WHEN FILLING GAS TANK UP I WOULD SMELL A STRONG GAS ODOR IN THE CABIN OF THE CAR. AFTER THE GAS LEVEL WOULD START TO GO DOWN THE ODER WOULD GO AWAY. WELL, THE LAST FEW DAYS THE ODOR GOT REALLY STRONG AND IT DIDN'T MATTER HOW MUCH GAS WAS IN THE TANK, IT MADE ME AND MY FAMILY REALLY NAUSEOUS, AND AFTER A FEW DAYS OF THIS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CAR STARTED SPUTTERING LIKE IT WANTED TO STAUL OUT. WELL FINALLY AFTER ABOUT A WEEK OF THIS THE ODOR GOT SO STRONG THAT IT MADE ME VERY FATIGUED AND SICK, YOU CAN SMELL THE GAS IN MY CLOTHES AND MY EYES STARTED TO BURN. MY CARS ENGINE IS CLUMPING LIKE THE ENGINE IS ABOUT TO GO OUT SO I PARKED IT AT HOME AND SHUT IT OFF. I'LL HAVE TO HAVE...
EVERY TIME I FILL UP A STRONG ODOR OF GAS IS OBSERVED INSIDE THE CABIN OF THE CAR AND AREA AROUND THE CAR UNTIL IT GET'S DOWN TO ABOUT 1/2 TANK OF FUEL. I'VE READ SEVERAL COMPLAINTS AND COSTING US CONSUMERS LIKE $1,000.00 TO $1,800.00.

AS I APPROACHED MY CAR THERE WAS A HEAVY ODOR OF FUEL. THE NEXT MORNING UNDER THE BACK RIGHT TIRE THERE WAS A PUDDLE OF FUEL. I REMOVED THE BACK SEAT AND UNDER THE COVER THERE WAS A PUDDLE OF FUEL ON TOP OF THE PLASTIC OF THE GAS TANK. DODGE HAS BEEN CLEARLY MADE AWARE OF THIS ISSUE AND SINCE CHANGED THE DESIGN OF THE GAS TANK. FOR ME TO REPLACE IT WOULD COST ME OVER $2,000. THIS SHOULD BE REPLACED BY DODGE ASAP. THIS PUTS MY FAMILY AND I IN GRAVE DANGER BEING THAT OF THE ELECTRICAL WIRE THAT RUN ALONG SIDE THE UNIT. THIS ONLY HAPPENS WHEN I FILL MY TANK AND IT IS A CONTINUAL DRIP. I CONTACTED DODGE AND THEY SAID THEY "KNOW" NOTHING OF SUCH ISSUES. ALL IT WILL TAKE A ONE DROPPED CIGARETTE TO CLOSE TO THE CAR AND THINGS WILL BE BAD.

THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL FILLER TUBE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED DUE TO THE PART BEING ON NATIONAL BACK ORDER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 123,115.
WE HAVE A GAS SMELL FOR SOME TIME ,AND WE TOOK IT TO DEALER SHIP AND THEY DID NOT FIND ANYTHING , THIS HAPPENED WHEN WE HAVE A FULL THANK, SO THIS MORNING I DID IT AND WE CAN SEE THE GAS LEAK FROM THE TANK AND WE ARE SCARE THAT THIS MAY CATCH ON FIRE,.I READ THAT THERE IS 6 COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME THING. I FILLED MY CAR UP, 20 MINUTES LATER, THE CAR REEKED OF GAS. I GOT OUT AND LOOKED UNDER THE VEHICLE, AND THERE'S GAS LEAKING FOR THE PASSENGER SIDE BY THE BACK TIRE. I LOOKED ONLINE, AND THERE ARE COMPLAINT'S DATING BACK TO 2012. INCLUDING ONES ON THIS SITE. I'M HOPING DODGE ISSUES A RECALL SOON. BECAUSE I'M CONCERNED ABOUT MY FAMILY'S SAFETY.
GAS LEAKS WHEN TANK IS ABOVE 3/4 FUEL. IT LEAKS BESIDE THE RIGHT REAR TIRE,AND IT GIVES OFF A VERY STRONG ODOR INSIDE CABIN. THIS IS A HAZARDOUS SITUATION. THE GAS WILL LEAK UNTIL UNDER 3/4 TANK OF GAS.
ABOUT 30 MINUTES AFTER REFUELING I NOTICED A STRONG FUEL INSIDE AND AROUND THE VEHICLE. THE FIRST TIME I DIDN'T THINK MUCH OF IT THINKING THE MAYBE FUEL SPILLED DOING REFUELING. WHILE PARKED, I NOTICED FUEL WAS LEAKING FROM UNDER THE CAR NEAR THE REAR RIGHT PASSENGER DOOR. IT WAS A CONTINUOUS DRIP. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT THE ISSUE AND TO SEE IF THERE HAS BEEN OTHER COMPLAINTS/ RECALLS. THEY STATED THAT THEY WAS NOT AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM. THEN I RESEARCHED ONLINE AND FOUND OUT THAT THERE HAD BEEN OTHER COMPLAINTS OF THE SAME PROBLEM. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM AND NEED IMMEDIATE ATTENTION. THIS PROBLEM COULD CAUSE SOME SERIOUS INJURY OR EVEN DEATH. DUE TO THE COST OF THE REPAIR, I HAVE...

OUT OF NO WHERE AND FOR THE PAST 8-10MO., MY 2011 CHARGER HAS BEEN LEAKING FUEL. ANYTIME THE VEHICLE IS FILLED WITH FUEL OVER 3/4 FULL, IT LEAKS ONTO THE GROUND OF THE PASSENGER SIDE BACK TIRE AND FUMES FILL THE CABIN, SO BADLY YOU CAN'T DRIVE IT UNLESS ALL THE WINDOWS ARE DOWN, SO YOUR NOT ASPHYXIATED BY THE FUMES. THE FUEL ODOR IS SO BAD THAT YOU COULD SMELL IT FROM A DISTANCE IN MY DRIVE WAY.THE ENGINE LIGHT IS ON FOR THIS REASON AND MY A/C RECIRCULATE WILL NOT WORK (AS A SAFETY PRECAUTION), AS WELL AS THE AUTO START ON THE KEY FOB. I TOOK IT INTO THE SHOP AND THEY REPLACED THE FIRST SEAL. ALL SEAMED TO BE FINE UNTIL I FILLED UP WITH GAS WHICH WAS THE DAY AFTER THE REPAIR. 2 WEEKS AGO I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE FROM A USED CAR LOT. THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME FILLING THE FUEL TANK ALL THE WAY. ONCE I LEFT THE GAS STATION I STARTED SMELLING GAS FUMES. ONCE THE CAR WAS PARKED I NOTICED IT LEAKING GAS UNDER THE PASSENGER SIDE IN FRONT OF THE BACK WHEEL. 3 DAYS LATER NOTICED IT WENT FROM HAVING A FULL TANK TO MISSING AN 1/8 OF A TANK. WHILE IT WAS SITTING AT WORK IT CONTINUOUSLY DRIPPED FUEL UNTIL I HAD A FLATBED PICK IT UP TO TAKE IT BACK TO THE LOT. PULLED THE BACK SEAT AND THE COVER FOR THE FUEL PUMP AND THERE WAS STANDING GAS AROUND THE FUEL PUMP. VERY BAD DESIGN TO HAVE THE FUEL PUMP AT AN ANGLE FOR IT TO LEAK THAT BAD IF A SEAL GOES BAD.

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER TO BE REPAIRED. THE O-RING AROUND THE FUEL TANK WAS REPLACED, BUT THE ISSUE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE SMELLED OF FUEL AND DRIPPED GASOLINE INTO THE CABIN OF THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 92,000.
