MY ENGINE COOLANT HAS BEEN LEAKING AND CAUSED MY CAR TO OVER HEAT SINCE IT WASNT NOTICED. NO STEAM CAME OUT OF THE CAR TO ALERT ME THAT IT WAS RUNNING HOT WHILE DRIVING. MY CAR JUST AUTOMATICALLY SHUT DOWN AND WOULD NOT CRANK BACK UP. ONCE LOOKING UNDER THE HOOD I SAW THERE WAS NO COOLANT AND HOW IT HAD BEEN LEAKING AROUND THE VALVE. I REPLACED THE COOLANT THEN WENT INTO HAVE MY CAR SERVICED EVERY 3 MTHS AS USUAL. THE MECHANIC TELLS ME THAT HES NOTICED SEVERAL CHARGERS WITH THE SAME COOLANT LEAK IN THE VALVES. THIS SOUNDS LIKE A DEFECT TO ME. *TT

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE CHARGER. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH AND LEAVING A TOLL BOOTH WHEN THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. HE COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE HAD OCCURRED APPROXIMATELY ONE DOZEN TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THE DEALER REPAIRED A CABLE WIRE TO THE WHEEL WELL. THE FAILURE CONTINUED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER YET THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE PERSISTED AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT FURTHER REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 103,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE CHARGER AWD. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH WHEN SHE HEARD AN ABNORMAL KNOCKING FROM THE ENGINE. SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL MECHANIC AND HE ADVISED HER THAT THE VEHICLE HAD NO OIL ON THE DIP STICK. THE MECHANIC ADDED 4 QUARTS OF OIL TO THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THE DEALER ADVISED HER THAT THE TEFLON PISTONS WERE CONSUMING A LARGE AMOUNT OF OIL AND WAS A NORMAL OCCURRENCE. THE DEALER DID NOT FIND A FAILURE WITH THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE HAD AN OIL CHANGE LESS THAN 2,500 MILES AGO AND THE RATE OF WHICH THE VEHICLE WAS CONSUMING OIL WAS ABNORMAL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 44,500 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 44,925.
