I've had to replace the battery in this 3 times. Alternator 1. And Throttle Body Position Sensor twice. And now it's all starting to act up again. Car stalls, no reason, all dashboard warning lights flash and it stalls. No dashboard lights at night. Occasionally they flicker. Windshield wipers either won't work or won't shut off. Front windows are unusable, the track broke and back windows don't have power to make them work. Airbag and abs lights always flashing on dash and warning bell goes off all the time. Now my High beam wires have completely crumbled and radio takes 5-10 minutes to come on. Obviously a major electrical issue. I've lost my job thanks to the "reliability" of this money pit. Owned 3 years, problems began then. Today all lights are flashing, the air starts blowing high, wipers go on. I stop at light and it shuts off. Had...
New battery, plugs and wires, new alternator. It will run for 5 seconds after jumping, then lights pop on and it dies. When jumping the negative also throws a spark while trying to start.
There were 7 recalls on my make, year, model vehicle. Three of which were Brakes, Air Bags, and the TPMS tire monitoring system. Other body parts, doors and hood releases had recalls along with hvac/air conditioning systems. Radiator/fan motor failures. Doors flying open during transit. The ABS control module could cause the brakes to lock-up during braking. Shorts from unused connectors for the computer/TPMS system/brakes and air bags have been causing many unpredictable breakdowns. Some predictable, from past records, state recorded Instances from 180,963 vehicles that just failure of the TPMS monitor system has already caused engine no start, dead battery, Inoperable cruise control, remote start system, engine stalling which could cause a "crash without warning". HORN STOPPED WORKING AND AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON. IT STOP WORKING WHILE I TRIED PRESSING ON THE HORN WHILE DRIVING.
I WAS RIDING ON THE HIGHWAY WITH MY DAUGHTER IN PASSENGER SEAT WHEN SUDDENLY MY ENGINE LIGHT STARTED BLINKING AND THE RPM'S SHOT UP TO ABOUT 7,000 AND CONTINUED IF ACCELERATOR WAS PRESS. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER. CALL AAA TO HAVE CAR TOWED TO MY DESTINATION. THE CAR WAS NOW IN WHAT IS CALLED LIMP MODE AND HAS BEEN FOR 2 MONTHS NOW.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER SEBRING. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE FROM A TRAFFIC LIGHT, THE VEHICLE HESITATED TO MOVE. ALSO, ALL THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTING WENT OUT. AFTER A FEW SECONDS, THE VEHICLE DROVE NORMALLY TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE FOLLOWING DAY, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED IN AUGUST OF 2019. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000.
FUSE BOX COMPLETELY SHORTED OUT AND THERE WAS A BURNING SMELL. CAR STALLS WITHOUT WARNING IN TRAFFIC AND ON THE HIGHWAY AND WILL NOT START. THE CAR WILL CRANK BUT WON'T START LEAVING THE VEHICLE DISABLED IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. THE VEHICLE ALSO CAN BE PARKED AND NOT START. CRANKS BUT WON'T START. IT HAS HAPPENED ON MORE THAN 4 OCCASIONS 1 OF THE TIMES MY CHILDREN WERE IN THE CAR AND WE WERE ON THE FREEWAY. ANOTHER TIME I WAS ALONE ON THE FREEWAY AND ANOTHER TIME I WAS STOPPED AT A STOPLIGHT AND IT DIED AND WOULD NOT START LEAVING ME STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC. ALL OTHER TIMES HAVE BEEN WHEN THE CAR WAS PARKED. THE DATE BELOW IS THE MOST RECENT INCIDENT.
I HAVE RESEARCHED AND SEVERAL OF THESE CARS HAVE THIS ISSUE. I BOUGHT MY CAR USED AUGUST 2018,I LOVE THIS CAR...BUT.. THE DASH LIGHTS HAVE NEVER WORKED!! MY INSTRUMENT PANEL HAS NO BACKGROUND LIGHTS, THEY DO T TURN ON AT ALL. I TOOK IT INTO A LOCAL SHOP AND THEY SAID ALL THE FUSE ARE GOOD AND THEY THINK IT MIGHT BE A MODGULAR (BATTERY) THAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. I HAVE SEEN A LOT OF OTHER OWNERS HAVING THIS SAME ISSUE WITH THEIR SEBRING AS WELL.
THE AIRBAG LIGHT HAS BEEN IN FOR A LONG TIME. I KNOW SOMEONE THAT HAS THE SAME CAR AND THEIR CAR HAS THE SAME ISSUE. ALSO THE TRUE GAGE READER IS MALFUNCTIONING. I'VE PUT 2 STARTERS ON MY 2007 CHYSLER SEBRING IN THE LAST 3 MONTHS. THE CAR STARTS GREATS THEN WHILE DRIVING IT STARTS TO MAKE THIS LOUD GRINDING NOISE AND ONCE YOU CUT THE CAR OFF IT JUST CLICKS. THIS TIME IT DID THE SAME THING BUT THIS TIME WHEN I CUT THE CAR OFF IT KEPT RUNNING AND I HAD TO GO TURN THE IGNITION SWITCH OFF AGAIN AND OF COURSE IT WON'T START.

THE DEFECTIVE INTEGRATED POWER MODULE (TIPM) WOULD CAUSE MY VEHICLE TO DO STRANGE THINGS. LIKE LOOSE COMPLETE POWER WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY OR IN TOWN. ALSO EFFECTS WHERE STARTER CRANKS BUT WONT START. BATTERY WOULD BE DRAINED FOR NO REASON. I HAVE THE VEHICLE IN THE SHOP RIGHT NOW GETTING THAT PART REPLACED. I ASKED THEM WHAT DID THEY FIND OUT ABOUT MY VEHICLE AFTER A COUPLE OF DAYS OF THEM WORKING ON IT AND THEY STATED THEY WHERE UNSURE STILL WORKING ON IT. THEY GAVE ME A CALL BACK A FEW DAYS LATER AND THEY STATED THAT THE ISSUE IS THE TIPM AND THAT THEY GOT THAT INFO FROM CHRYSLER BECAUSE THEY EVENTUALLY HAD TO CONTACT THEM TO SEE IF THEY KNEW WHAT THE ISSUE WAS AND THAT THEY TOLD THEM THAT THIS IS A VERY COMMON ISSUE IN CHRYSLER VEHICLES MADE FROM 2007 TO 2014. DASHBOARD WAS DIM WITH AIRBAG INDICATOR LIGHT ALWAYS ON WHEN PURCHASED. THE PROBLEMS STARTED WITH DASHBOARD LIGHTS GOING IN AND OUT AND THE WIPERS NOT WORKING PROPERLY AROUND NOVEMBER OF LAST YEAR. WAS TOLD FUSES NEEDED TO BE CHANGED, SO THEY WERE. SAME ISSUE. THEN 3 MONTHS AGO TAILLIGHT BULB WENT OUT, CHANGED IT AND THE TAILLIGHTS HAVE NOT WORKED SINCE. WAS TOLD IT HAS TO BE TAKEN TO DEALER AUTHORIZED SHOP FOR ELECTRICAL BOX REPAIR AFTER TAKING CAR TO THREE DIFFERENT SHOPS WHO ALL SAID THEY COULD NOT FIND THE ISSUE. TODAY BATTERY LOOKING LIGHT CAME ON AND BEFORE I COULD TURN AROUND TO GO BACK HOME THE CAR IMMEDIATELY SHUT OFF AND WOULD NOT START WITHOUT A JUMP. THE LIGHTNING BOLT IN PARENTHESES CAME UP AND CAR ACCELERATED WITHOUT MY FOOT BEING ON GAS BUT WOULD NOT GO ABOVE 30 MPH ONCE I MADE IT HOME IT TURNED...
I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT MY AIRBAG LIGHT COMING ON 1-2 TIMES A MONTH. DOES THAT MEAN THE AIR BAGS MAY SUDDENLY DEPLOY WHILE I AM SITTING AT A LIGHT, OR NOT DEPLOY WHEN INVOLVED IN A CRASH? MY SECOND CONCERN IS THAT MY DASHBOARD LIGHTS STARTED DIMMING AND EVENTUALLY WENT OUT ON THEIR OWN. I CANNOT DRIVE AT NIGHT ANY MORE.I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC AND THINKING IT WAS A SIMPLE FUSE PROBLEM. THE CAR WILL STOP SUDDENLY WHILE DRIVING I'VE BEEN TOLD ITS AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE IN THE TRANSMISSION, BUT I SEE FROM THE RECALLS THAT CHRYSLER KNOWS ABOUT THESE ISSUES YET THESE CARS ARE STILL BEEN SOLD AND DRIVEN EVEN THOUGH THEY CAN HAVE VERY DANGEROUS CONSEQUENCES. DASHBOARD LIGHTS INTERMITTENTLY TURN ON AND OFF WHILE CAR IS ON AND DRIVING; ESPECIALLY THE'AIRBAG' AND 'CHECK ENGINE' AND "EXCLAMATION POINT' LIGHTS. THE 'CHECK ENGINE' LIGHT IS ALWAYS ON AND BLINKS WHILE IN DRIVE. WHILE THE CHECK ENGINE IS BLINKING, THE CAR DRIVES SLOWER AND DOES NOT PICK UP SPEED PAST 20 MPH. ALL SPARK PLUGS HAVE BEEN CHANGED AS WELL AS THE CRANKS SENSOR.

I DID SOME RESEARCH ON WHAT COULD BE CAUSING THIS AND DISCOVERED NHTSA REFERENCE # 08V-152, WHICH DESCRIBES EXACTLY WHAT I'VE BEEN EXPERIENCING, AND MY CAR DOES HAVE THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM. WHEN I CONTACTED CHRYSLER THEY TOLD ME THAT THERE HAVE NEVER BEEN ANY RECALLS ON MY PARTICULAR VEHICLE. I KNOW THIS TO BE UNTRUE BECAUSE SHORTLY AFTER I PURCHASED THE CAR I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR A SPRING IN THE GEAR SHIFT. CHRYSLER INFORMED ME THAT IF I WANT THIS CORRECTED IT WOULD AT MY OWN EXPENSE. THE PROBLEM THAT INITIATED THE RECALL CAN RESULT IN THE CAR STALLING WITHOUT WARNING AND CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. I GOOGLED THIS CONDITION AND BY THE RESPONSES I SAW, THIS IS A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM IN THE CHRYSLER SEBRING AND THERE SHOULD BE AN IMMEDIATE RECALL BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT FROM DIVERTING ATTENTION FROM THE ROAD TO THE DASH SITUATION. THIS HAPPENS IF THE VEHICLE IS STOPPED, MOVING, TURNING, ON A CITY STREET AND IN HIGHWAY CONDITIONS. IT HAPPENS WHEN TRAVELING ON SMOOTH PAVEMENT OR ROUGHER CONDITIONS. WHEN IT BEGAN, THE CAR SOMETIMES WOULD NOT CATCH WHEN I TURNED THE IGNITION. THEN ONE DAY IT WAS RAINING AND I PULLED UP TO A RED LIGHT AND THE CAR CUT OFF. WHILE DRIVING NOTICED THE BACK OF THE DRIVERS SEAT WAS GETTING VERY HOT. FOUND A BURN HOLE IN BACK OF SEAT ABOUT 3/8TH OF AN INCH. I WAS USING THE HEATED SEATS AT THE TIME. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY REDUCED SPEED LOWER THAN 50 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 07V240000 (AIR BAGS) AND 08V152000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. MY CHRYSLER SEBRING'S ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL LIGHT GOES ON FOR A SECOND OR 2 AND THEN GOES BACK OFF RANDOMLY. THE CAR IDLES HIGH AND SEEM TO WANT TO STALL OUT. I HAVE READ ONLINE THAT MANY OTHER PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS SAFETY PROBLEM AND NO ONE SEEMS TO BE ABLE TO FIX IT OR FIND THE SOURCE. I PURCHASED MY CAR USED 3 YRS AGO. I PAID IF OFF THIS YEAR. THE ONGOING TROUBLESOME ISSUE IS THAT THE CAR STALLS OUT UNEXPECTEDLY- USUALLY DURING WET WEATHER. IT HAS HAPPENED ABOUT 5 TIMES OR SO. WHILE A MECHANIC WAS WORKING ON MY CAR HE NOTICED THAT A WIRING HARNESS WAS FUSED TOGETHER, AND THE FAN WAS NOT WORKING. I GOT ON LINE AND FOUND THAT IN NOVEMBER 2007 THERE WAS A RECALL (G39) AND IT WAS PERFORMED ON MY CAR( I PURCHASED MY CAR NEW IN FEBRUARY 2007). THERE WAS NO INDICATION MY CAR WAS RUNNING HOT, BUT, IT OBVIOUSLY COULD HAVE CAUGHT FIRE . THE WIRES WERE ARCING. I IMMEDIATELY GOT AN APPT WITH A DEALER ON 11/18 AND THIS TIME THE FOLLOWING PARTS WERE REPLACED: JUMPER RA 08015002, MOTOR RAD 08034280 AND SHROUD 07008002 FREE OF CHARGE .THE ORIGINAL RECALL WAS CALLED G39. THE ORIGINAL RECALL ONLY INSTALLED A FAN MOTOR OVERLAY HARNESS. THE ORIGINAL RECALL OBVIOUSLY DID NOT CORRECT THE ORIGINAL PROBLEM. BUT IT TOOK 7 YEARS TO HAPPEN AGAIN. *TR

THE CONTACT CONTINUED TO EXPERIENCE THE VEHICLE JERKING VIOLENTLY AND THEN STALLING INTERMITTENTLY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 114,560.
GAS GAUGE STOPPED WORKING. ACCORDING TO DEALER MECHANIC, FUEL GAGE SENDING UNIT IS NOT WORKING....FUEL PUMP DOES WORK. DASHBOARD LIGHTS NO LONGER WORK ALSO. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON AND CANNOT BE CLEARED OR PROBLEM DIAGNOSED. *TR
I HAD NO BRAKE LIGHTS AND THE SEAT BELT INDICATOR LIGHT KEPT DINGING AS WELL AS THE TIRE LOW INDICATOR. IT WAS ALL BECAUSE OF THE TOTAL INTERGRATED POWER MODULE. IT WAS ON BACK ORDER FOR FIVE WEEKS. IT COST 750.00 FOR JUST THE PART. I FEEL CHRYSLER DOESN'T RECALL THESE EVEN AFTER 1000S OF COMPLAINTS BECAUSE IT IS TO COSTLY. THEY ARE MAKING MONEY ON THE PART ALONE. I HAVE A 2007 CHRYSLER SEBRING LIMITED AND WHEN I TAKE MY KEY OUT OF THE IGNITION AND OPEN THE DRIVERS DOOR IT STILL INDICATES ON THE DASH THAT THE KEY IS IN THE IGNITION, THEREFORE CAUSING MY KEY FOBS TO NOT WORK AS WELL.
