TRANSMISSION DOES NOT SHIFT FROM 3RD TO 4TH GEAR. SUPPOSELY DEALERSHIP DROVE IT OVER 25 MILES NEVER HAD THE PROBLEM. I PICK IT UP AND DROVE IT LESS THEN 5 MILES AND IT DOES NOT SHIFT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING CONVERTIBLE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE SHOOK VIOLENTLY WITHOUT WARNING. IN ADDITION, WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE JERKED FORWARD AND STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE CONTACT HEARD AN ABNORMAL NOISE COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE REAR BRAKES AND ROTORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED MONTHLY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
RPMS SHOT TO 4K AND 5K THEN SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING ON INTERSTATE. TOWED TO DEALER. DEALER REPLACED PCM AND ALTERNATOR. AFTERWHICH, INTAKE MANIFOLD DOOR POSITION SENSOR SETS A CODE - FOR SENSOR (NO RESPONSE) INTERNAL TO INTAKE MANIFOLD. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STILL ON. *TR
24 HOURS OF PURCHASING FROM ORIGINAL- SOLE OWNER OF WHOM KEPT IT VERY WELL, LOW MILEAGE 28,000M & GARAGED. I DROVE IT FOR THE FIRST GAS FILL-UP AND PROCEEDED TO RESTART, SHIFT FROM P TO DRIVE. LOCKED UP. REFERRED TO MANUAL IN WHICH I FOLLOWED INSTRUCTIONS FOR HIDDEN RESET BUTTON. TO NO AVAIL, CALLED LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP. THEIR RESPONSE "YOU GET IT HERE & WE'LL FIX IT!" TOTALLY FRUSTRATED~I DID. BROKEN SHIFTER HAS 2 LITTLE PINK PLASTIC GUARDS HOLDING IT ALL TOGETHER- REALLY? ONE HAS BROKEN BUT THE WHOLE SHIFTER HAS TO BE REPLACED!! 3 1/2 HOURS LATER + $377.00 I DROVE AWAY IN HOPES OF BEING REIMBURSED BY MANUFACTURERS TO REPAY MY FRIEND FOOTING THIS BILL!! *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING CONVERTIBLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE TURNING AT UNKNOWN SPEEDS, SHE HEARD A LOUD NOISE. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT WHILE IN REVERSE, THE VEHICLE HESITATED BEFORE SHIFTING INTO GEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 43,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
AT 4055 MILES CAR WAS BROUGHT INTO DEALERSHIP FOR ROTOR ISSUES, THE CAR HAS BEEN BACK TO 3 DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS, MORE THAN 15 TIMES, FOR BRAKE LIGHT, WINDOW SEAL, POWER STEERING PUMP, TRANSMISSION, STALLING, FUEL GAUGE,TOP ISSUES,FOR MAINLY VIBRATION ISSUES AT LEAST 10 TIMES, THE CAR HAS APPROX. 26K MILES AND IS ON ITS THIRD SET OF TIRES, THE DEALERSHIPS REFUSES TO GO BEYOND ALIGNMENT, BRAKES, ROTORS, RIMS AND TIRES, THIS TIME STRUTS. THIS LAST TIME IT HAS BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR MORE THAN A MONTH,THEY HAVE REPLACED ALL DESCRIBED AND IT STILL HAS AN ISSUE AND THEY REFUSE TO GO BEYOND THAT AND LOOK INTO THE TIE RODS OR BUSHINGS. *TR
I HAVE A 2008 SEBRING CONVERTIBLE.. WHILE DRIVING.. THE CAR'S ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL LIGHT COMES ON AND STARTS TO LOSE POWER AND WILL ALMOST SHUT DOWN.. I AM HEARING ABOUT OTHERS WITH SIMILAR PROBLEMS.. PG 181 ON OWNERS' MANUAL.. THIS MAKES IT FOR A REAL DANGEROUS SITUATION IF THE ENGINE SHUTS DOWN.. I LOSE ALL STEERING AND BRAKING WHILE DRIVING AT HIGH SPEEDS.. ESPECIALLY ON CURVY ROADS.. *TR
MY CAR WAS PARKED IN MY GARAGE. I WENT TO LEAVE AND THE CAR WOULD NOT COME OUT OF PARK. THE CAR HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALER TO BE FIXED. THEY STATED THAT A PART HAD BROKEN. I COULD NOT EVEN USE THE MANUAL RELEASE TO GET IT INTO DRIVE. *TR
2008 SEBRING CONVERTIBLE SHIFTER IS STUCK IN PARK; THE CAR CANNOT BE MOVED. DEALER SAID IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKE SHIFT INTERLOCK BREAKING. THE ENTIRE SHIFTER UNIT MUST BE REPLACED; COST $150-$200 SINCE THE SEBRING IS 3 MONTHS OUT OF WARRANTY. THEY SAID THE PART BREAKS ON SEVERAL CURRENT CHRYSLER MODELS ALL THE TIME; A WEB SEARCH CONFIRMS IT. A BRIGHT PINK PLASTIC PIECE BREAKS WHERE A SPRING ATTACHES TO IT, THAT ALLOWS THE INTERLOCK TO DISENGAGE WHEN THE BRAKE IS DEPRESSED. WHAT IF THIS COMMON PROBLEM HAPPENS WHEN YOU ARE IN A REMOTE LOCATION WITH NO CELL PHONE SERVICE? WHAT IF YOU NEEDED YOUR CAR FOR A MEDICAL EMERGENCY? *TR
