Very LOUD metallic clanking noise while driving 40-50 mph coming from front left wheel. When I inspected it, I saw that the front left wheel bearing hub mounting bolt had backed out of the hub and steering knuckle and onto the CV shaft end, which is what caused the clanking. I have photos of this damage. Vehicle is 3 years old and has 46,000 miles on it. I believe it should be obvious why wheel bearing hub mounting bolts backing out on their own is quite dangerous. This problem has not been confirmed by my local dealer. The manufacturer has not been made aware of this problem. There was no warning sign that this would occur. It happened spontaneously while driving this morning.
