Check engine light cam on then a message "Stop safely Vehicle will shut off soon" This is related to recall 23V-010
Got on freeway on ramp. About 3/4 of a mile later, warning came on “Stop Safely, vehicle will shut off soon” - red turtle appeared, and service engine soon light came on. 1. Transmission - it is at this point, but part has been ordered to replace 2.Going freeway speeds (73MPH) and had to immediately slow and pull over with little warning. If the traffic would have been heavier, there is a good chance a collision would have occurred. 3. Yes - it was taken to a dealership today (5-9-24) and they indicated it is a transmission issue, and are ordering parts to correct this issue 4. No warnings prior to it coming on when I was driving.
While driving a message appeared on the dash "SERVICE CHARGING SYSTEM" and vehicle doesn't even accelerate(we stay in Des Moines and visited my cousin in Dallas,TX, this is where this issue happened). Luckily I was on local road I was able to pull off, what would be the situation if it happens on interstate with such high speed travelling vehicles behind me. I was driving with my 2 kids and wife and I feel it's more dangerous to take a trip with this vehicle. Please try to find a solution or issue an recall and doesn't want this situation to happen to anybody.
While driving down the road at approximately 45 mph, the car suddenly shut down with no power. The display said there was a charging error and to put the vehicle in park. I parked the vehicle on the shoulder, turned it off, and restarted. The engine started and I drove off, but 5 minutes later it suddenly shut off once again. I repeated this process 2 times until the final time, the vehicle would not restart, and we were stranded on the shoulder of a busy road in icy conditions. A mechanic ran a diagnostic on the vehicle and there are no error codes, but it will not start and says there is a charging error, even though it is not plugged in. The sudden stops are very dangerous, especially in snowy/icy conditions. We are 600 miles away from home and do not feel safe operating this vehicle on a...
On Dec 5th, as I was driving downhill on Hwy 54 in Peachtree City, GA, the van jerked, made a beeping noise, and the dash lit up. The van had completely shut off. It said "service charging system" and "shift to park". I was able to get the van off the roadway and into a parking lot by coasting. Despite turning it off, it kept turning back on with the ac on full blast. It finally stopped turning back on after I opened the driver door and left it open. It restarted and my husband drove it home. I called Chrysler when I got home. They said to call the local dealership to get recall fixed and have them look at the engine. I called the dealership first thing the next morning. He said the first available appointment would be Dec 28th. They no longer have a loaner program so...
Driving on the Highway with my entire family of 6 people (with 2 young kids) and my Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid 2019 suddenly stops. When I press the accelerator the vehicle doesn't respond. When I shut it off, wait for a couple of minutes and turn it on again, it gives an error saying service charging system. I had to shut it down on the highway and get it towed to the nearest dealer. I see several customer complaints with the same issue. I also see a NTHSA investigation of the same :- https://www.autoevolution.com/news/nhtsa-investigates-transmission-issue-affecting-chrysler-pacifica-phev-194678.html This is a fairly new vehicle (~40000 miles) with full service and maintenance done. Last month I took it for service at Chrysler dealership and they did service with 20 point inspection and no one identified or mentioned anything wrong with the vehicle.
While driving 70MPH on the freeway the power to the engine failed. The dash showed a power error, telling me to plug the vehicle in. After coasting to the shoulder, the power to the car would not turn off, nor would the engine turn back on. I sat on the shoulder of the I-15 Freeway in Rancho Bernardo, CA for 45 minutes until a tow truck could come and tow the car to the dealership where it was purchased, Bob Baker Chrysler in Carlsbad, CA. The service technician, Juan Gonzalez, kept the car for about a week trying to replicate the problem, detect the issue, or learn anything about it. He could not determine the cause or the solution. However the car would start again and appeared to drive normally again. After 7 days the car was returned to me with out any repairs or any explanations or any assurance...
Power to engine was lost while driving 75 miles per hour down the freeway in the HOV Express lane. There was no shoulder to pull over onto safely. This is the second time this has occurred. First incident was March 2021. Power to engine cut while driving on freeway 75 MPH. Car was towed to Bob Baker Chrysler. Dealer was unable to recreate the problem or diagnose after 7 days. Issues occurred again on 4/19/2022. Car was towed to Bob Baker Chrysler.
Vehicle lost all traction power and vehicle display on the dash indicated "Service Charging System"
WHILE DRIVING CAR ON CITY STREET STARTED TO HESITATE WITH POWER, SO PULLED OFF ROAD AND PUT IN PARK. THEN WAS UNABLE TO TAKE CAR OUT OF PARK OR SHIFT IN ANY WAY. BLUE LIGHT JUST FLASHED. WASN'T ABLE TO SHUT THE CAR OFF AND THE CAR HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALER WHILE STILL RUNNING. MESSAGE SAID 'TRANSMISSION". THIS HAPPENED TWICE WITH THE FIRST OCCURENCE BEING JUST SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASE. VEHICLE HAS BEEN AT DEALER FOR 44 DAYS AND IS STILL NOT FIXED.
THIS INVOLVES A 2019 CHRYSLER PACIFICA PLUG-IN HYBRID. WHILE TRAVELING AT 80 MPH WITH DYNAMIC CRUISE CONTROL ENGAGED, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY LOST ALL PROPULSION. THE INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE WAS OFF, AND NO POWER CAME FROM THE ELECTRIC MOTOR. THE AIR CONDITIONING ALSO TURNED OFF. DESPITE PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR, THERE WAS NO POWER AT ALL. THE VEHICLE WAS ONLY COASTING, AND LOST SPEED RAPIDLY. DESPITE LOSING PROPULSION, I NEVER FELT LIKE I LOST BRAKES OR STEERING. DESPITE THIS, I FELT VERY UNSAFE AS I WAS TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEED IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSTATE WHEN THIS OCCURRED. THE DISPLAY ALTERNATED BETWEEN TWO MESSAGES. ONE STATED I NEEDED TO SHIFT TO 'P' AND PRESS THE START BUTTON (THE VEHICLE WAS STILL IN MOTION). THE SECOND MESSAGE STATED THERE WAS A FAULT IN THE HYBRID CHARGING SYSTEM. ONCE STOPPED ON THE SHOULDER, I SHIFTED TO PARK AND PRESSED THE START BUTTON WHILE...
ON INTERSTATE HIGHWAY LEFT LANE AT 65MPH, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON, RED PLUG-IN LIGHT COMES ON, AND CAR SLOWS TO A STOP IN LANE. CAR DOES NOT TURN BACK ON AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. AFTER FIVE MINUTES, CAR STARTS AGAIN. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT REMAINS ON. STALLING RECALL NOT FOUND FOR THIS VIN, BUT IS IN MANUFACTURE DATE RANGE OF RECALL.
PACIFICA HYBRID, TWO INCIDENTS: FIRST WAS ON FREEWAY, FAST LANE, DRIVING NORMALLY WITH ACTIVE CRUISE CONTROL. THE CAR SUDDENLY SHUT DOWN ALL ACCELERATION AND SLOWED. I WAS ABLE TO PRESS THE BRAKE AND STOP. THE FRONT CONSOLE LIT UP WITH MANY WARNINGS INCLUDING THE FRONTAL COLLISION WARNINGS. I WAS NOT CLOSE TO CAR IN FRONT OF ME BUT A MOTORCYCLE HAD SPLIT LANE PASSED ME VERY CLOSELY AND CUT IN. I HAD TO POWER OFF MY CAR AND START IT TWICE BEFORE IT WOULD GO FORWARD. I TOOK CAR FOR SERVICE, CHRYSLER DEALER FOUND NOTHING WRONG, REPLACED A COMPUTER MODULE, GAVE IT BACK. LESS THAN ONE WEEK LATER, THE CAR AGAIN SUDDENLY LOST ACCELERATION AND BRAKED. SAME LARGE SET OF WARNINGS APPEARED. BUT THIS TIME THE CAR DIDN'T ALLOW ME TO PRESS THE BRAKES. I WAS TRAVELING ON CITY STREETS LESS THAN 30 MPH BUT HAD LOST ALL ACCELERATION AND...
