BACK WINDOW FELL OUT WHILE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THE ONLY THING THAT KEPT IT FROM COMING COMPLETELY LOOSE WAS THE REAR WINDOW DEFROST WIRES.
I PURCHASED THIS CAR THIS YEAR FROM A CHRYSLER EXECUTIVE WHO HAS OWNED IT FOR YEARS. SHE TOLD ME THAT WHILE DRIVING IT THE REAR GLASS WINDOW FELL OUT. THIS WAS HER DAILY DRIVER SO SHE HAD IT RE GLUED AS FAST AS SHE COULD SO SHE WOULD HAVE A CAR TO GET TO WORK.SHE DID NOT KNOW OF THE TSB ON THIS. TSB-23=035-11 CALLED X-31/ADHESION. I BOUGHT THE CAR THIS YEAR AND THE WINDOW IS LOOSE ON THE EDGES AND I AM AFRAID IT WILL FALL OUT AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. I TOOK IT TO A DEALER AND THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO. THEY SAID BECAUSE IT WAS ALREADY FIXED IT WOULD PROBABLY NOT BE COVERED. IS THIS TRUE? I BOUGHT THIS CAR TO BE A DAILY DRIVER, NOT A SUNNY DAY DRIVER.
I AM ONE OF THOSE AFFECTED BY THE REAR WINDOW FALLING OUT OF THE CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE. AT FIRST THEY OFFERED TO GET ME A NEW TOP FOR $700. GOODWILL THEY SAID. I TOLD THEM I COULDN'T AFFORD IT. THEY WOUND UP RESENDING THE OFFER AND REFUSED TO HELP ME AT ALL. I TRY TO REGLUE THE WINDOW BUT IT FALLS OUT AGAIN. I AM IN NJ WHICH IS NOT ONE OF THE STATES THEY WERE HELPING PEOPLE IN. PLEASE HAVE CHRYSLER RECALL ALL CROSSFIRES FOR THIS KNOWN PROBLEM. THANKS. *TR
I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE AND NOT LONG AFTER, THE REAR WINDOW OF THE CONVERTIBLE TOP CAME LOOSE. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER ABOUT THE ISSUE. I'VE BEEN VERBALLY TOLD THAT THERE WAS A REPLACEMENT NOTE THAT AFFECTED CHRYSLER CROSSFIRES FOR 9 STATES. THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE ORIGINALLY SOLD IN ONE OF THESE 9 STATES. I CAN'T REMEMBER THE 9 SPECIFICALLY BUT...MY VEHICLE WAS ORIGINALLY SOLD IN KANSAS (WHICH IS NOT PART OF THE 9 STATES REPLACEMENT CLAUSE), I LIVE IN MO WHICH IS COVERED BY THE REPLACEMENT CLAUSE. THE LADY THAT I SPOKE TO SAID THAT IT WAS A HUMIDITY ISSUE THAT WOULD CAUSE THE WINDOW TO UNGLUE.... SO, I ARGUED THAT MY VEHICLE IS NOW REGISTERED IN A STATE THAT THEY CLAIMED HAS THE LEVEL OF HUMIDITY THAT WOULD CAUSE THE KNOWN ISSUE, BUT, SHE STAYED FIRM ON THE FACT THAT MY VEHICLE WAS ORIGINALLY SOLD IN KANSAS AND THAT...
REAR WINDOW FELL OUT COMPLETELY IN THE MIDDLE OF A THUNDERSTORM WITH MY WIFE DRIVING. THE WINDOW HAPPENED TO FALL INSIDE THE VEHICLE BUT IT COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT IF IT HAD FALLEN OUTSIDE THE CAR. SHE WAS LUCKY THAT THE WINDOW DID NOT FALL ON HER AND WE ONLY GOT WET. *TR
THIS SERVES AS AN ADDENDUM TO OUR (AND MANY OTHERS') COMPLAINTS. THE CHRYSLER TSB THAT YOU HAVE ON FILE, ONLY LISTS THE AFFECTED SYSTEMS AS "VISIBILITY", AND IT CALLS FOR REPAIR (?) WHEN IT ACTUALLY SPECIFIES REPLACEMENT AS THE ONLY RECOMMENDED REMEDY, AT A TYPICAL COST OF $2,500; TO BE PROVIDED OR REIMBURSED TO A SMALL SELECT GROUP OF OWNERS, EVEN THOUGH THIS FAILURE CONTINUES TO OCCUR NATIONWIDE. THIS IS ABSURD. WE SHOULD NOTE THAT THE TERM "STRUCTURE" AS AN "AFFECTED PART" NO LONGER APPEARS IN YOUR E-MAIL COMPLAINT FORM (WE WONDER WHY?) ALL MODERN CONVERTIBLE ROOF TOPS AND WINDOWS ARE INTENDED AND DESIGNED FOR SAFE, LONG TERM USE IN ANY EXPECTED DRIVING CONDITIONS, THUS THE USE OF DOT APPROVED SAFETY GLASS AND ELECTRONIC REAR WINDOW DEFROSTERS, ESPECIALLY WHEN CONDITIONS REQUIRE THE ROOF TOP TO BE IN THE "UP" POSITION. I HAVE A 2005 CROSSFIRE CONVERTIBLE I AM HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE REAR WINDOW IN THE TOP, IN NOV 2013 I NOTICE A SEPARATION OF THE TOP FROM THE REAR WINDOW AND TRIED TO GLUE IT CLOSED. AT THE TIME IT WAS A 1" GAP I WAS ABLE TO SEAL IT .NOW THE WINDOW HAS FELL OUT COMPLETELY. I CALL MY CHRYSLER DEALER (931-520-4121 IN COOKEVILLE ,TN) AND WAS TOLD THEY WOULDN'T FIX BECAUSE THE CAR CAME FROM MICHIGAN, IF IT HAD CAME FROM A SOUTHERN STATE THEY WOULD FIX ???. REAR WINDOW IS COMING LOOSE - ONE SIDE HAS COMPLETELY DELAMINATED. SOUNDS LIKE IT IS GOING TO FALL OR BREAK. I HAVE SEEN AND HEARD THAT CHRYSLER WILL STAND BEHIND IT UP TO 10 YEARS OR 100,000 MILES. I TOOK MY CAR TO A GARAGE AND HE TOLD ME THAT I SHOULD CONTACT CHRYSLER. IF THE TOP IS UP, I CANNOT DRIVE FASTER THAN 45 MPH WITHOUT IT VIBRATING. THIS IS A SEVERE SAFETY HAZARD. THE REAR WINDOW CAME UNGLUED FROM THE CONVERTIBLE TOP WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. IF THE DEFROSTER CABLE HAD NOT HELD THE WINDOW WOULD HAVE FLOWN OUT, AND COULD HAVE SERIOUSLY HARMED OTHER MOTORISTS. CHRYSLER KNOWS OF THIS ISSUE AND HAS ISSUED TSB 23-035-11 WHICH ACKNOWLEDGES THE DEFECT AND WILL REPAIR IT, BUT ONLY FOR CARS SENT TO CERTAIN DEALERSHIPS. THIS SHOULD BE FIXED ON ALL 2005 CROSSFIRES. THE REAR WINDOW IN MY 2005 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE ROADSTER BECAME UNGLUED AND WILL NOT STAY IN PLACE; THIS MAKES THE CAR UNSAFE TO DRIVE, AS THE WINDOW MAY COME OUT AT ANY TIME, STRING SOMEONE OR CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. THIS CAR WAS PURCHASED IN NOV 2008 WITH ONLY 16,800 MILES ON IT, AND HAS BEEN GARAGE KEPT SINCE. THE REAR ADHESIVE ON MY 2005 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE ROADSTERS REAR WINDOW, THAT HOLDS IT TO THE SOFT TOP CONVERTIBLE, HAS BEGUN TO DETACH. I HAVE CALLED CHRYSLER ABOUT THE ISSUE AND THEY EXPLAINED THAT MY VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED BY THE WARRANTY AND THEY WILL NOT ASSIST. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN FOR ME BECAUSE THE WINDOW COULD DETACH WHILE DRIVING AND POSSIBLY CAUSE HARM AND/OR DEATH TO OTHER DRIVERS ON THE ROADWAY. I FOUND A SERVICE BULLETIN ON THE ISSUE WITH A BULLETIN # SB-23035-11REVA THAT RECOMMENDS THAT THE CONVERTIBLE TOP BE INSPECTED AND/OR REPLACED IF DEFECTIVE. CHRYSLER IS NOT HELPING AT ALL WITH THIS SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE TO HELP ME FIX IT AND MAKE MY VEHICLE SAFE FOR MYSELF, AND THE OTHERS AROUND ME. THIS HAS A KNOW PROBLEM BY CHRYSLER AND THEY HAVE A SERVICE BULLETIN ON (23-035-11) ON CARS SENT TO CERTAIN SOUTHERN STATES BUT MINE WAS FROM VIRGINIA AND THE ARE SAYING IT IS NOT COVERED. THIS APPEARS TO HAPPEN ON ALL CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE CONVERTIBLES ,THERE IS A GLUE DEFECT ON ALL THESE CROSSFIRES AND THE HEAT FROM THE SOUTHERN STATES EXPEDITES THE DELAMINATION. THE BACK GLASS ADHESIVE ON THE CONVERTIBLE SOFT TOP ON MY 2005 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE ROADSTER HAS BEGUN TO FAIL, CAUSING THE GLASS TO SEPARATE FROM THE FABRIC TOP. THIS ADHESIVE IS THE ONLY SUPPORT FOR THE WINDOW TO THE FABRIC TOP. THE WINDOW/TOP CONNECTION CURRENTLY DOES NOT PROVIDE A WATERPROOF SEAL AND ALLOWS WATER TO ENTER THE VEHICLE. RECENTLY, THE DETERIORATION HAS ACCELERATED AND SOON COULD PRESENT AS A SAFETY HAZARD WHEN THE ADHESIVE FAILS COMPLETELY AND THE GLASS FALLS OUT ON A ROADWAY. *TR

IF THIS WINDOW WERE TO FALL OUT WHILE TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS NOT ONLY COULD IT STARTLE THE DRIVER TO THE POINT OF LOSING CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE BUT COULD INJURE OR KILL ANYONE FOLLOWING OR NEAR THE VEHICLE. THIS IS A KNOWN DEFECT BY CHRYSLER AND SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD WHICH THEY HAVE IGNORED FOR YEARS.

THE BACK WINDOW IN MY 2005 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE CONVERTIBLE FELL OUT. IT WAS GLUED IN AT THE FACTORY, NOT STITCHED OR BOLTED. REPAIR SHOPS WILL NOT WARRANTY THE WORK, STATING THAT IT WILL FALL OUT AGAIN WITHIN 6 MONTHS BECAUSE THE GLUE THEY CAN USE TO REPAIR THE WINDOW IS NOT AS STRONG AS WHAT IS USED IKN THE FACTORY. CHRYSLER SAYS THE ONLY WAY TO FIX THE PROBLEM IS TO INSTALL A NEW ROOF. THEY STATE THE PROBLEM IS RAMPED AND STEMS FROM A DESIGN FLAW.
