My car was parked at my house last nite and I came home to fire department at my house extinguishing my car that was engulfed in flames. The fire department said it was electrical fire. They told me they think the battery got to hot and caused the fire. The vehicle will be with progress insurance garage. For inspection. If me or my kids were in the vehicle we would of been either burnt beyond repair or dead. No warning lights at all. No noises nothing it ran perfect. My insurance progressive is taking my vehicle today or tomarrow for inspection.
Started the car put it in drive pulled forward 5ft car completely shut off cpl mins later smoke was rolling out of trunk pulled back seat down seen there was a fire by the lock latch
My dash gauges continues to drop to zero and then pick back up to normal and it does it over and over. I just got a diagnosis and it has code C1018 Central Gateway (FCM) Right Front Wheel Speed Sensor Circuit High-Active. I have a full report of code on this vehicle.
The contact owns a 2007 Chrysler 300. The contact stated that while driving at 30 MPH, her vehicle shut off without warning. Unable to restart the vehicle, the contact had the vehicle towed to her home. The contact had the battery and starter replaced; however, the failure persisted. The contact then had an independent mechanic come to her home where they discovered that the failure was linked to the vehicle's ignition switch. The contact then had the vehicle towed to a dealer where she was informed that they would not be able to repair the vehicle until December. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 156,000.
IGNITION SWITCH
THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT. IT WAS FINE THEN THEN LIGHTS STARTED FLICKERING INSIDE AND OUT AND THEN WHEN I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND TRIED TO TURN IT BACK ON IT WAS COMPLETELY DEAD. NO LIGHTS OR POWER AT ALL. HAD TO GET A JUMP START. THEN WHEN I TRIED TO GO IT WAS REVVING UP BUT WOULDNT MOVE AND THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN JUMPED INTO GEAR REAL HARD. IT HAD SIGNIFICANT LOSS OF POWER AND WOULD GET UP AND GO. IT'S REAL SLOW FROM THE START AND IT DANGEROUS DRIVING IT BECAUSE IT WILL JUST REV UP AND NOT MOVE THEN JUMP INTO GEAR VERY HARD. IT HAS ALMOST THROWN MY CAR INTO THE BACK OF OTHER CARS BECAUSE IT JUMPS SO BAD I TO GEAR ALL OF A SUDDEN. THEN WHEN YOU TRY TO GET OUT OF THE WAY OF ANOTHER CAR COMING G IT SOMETIMES BARELY...

ALL THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND THEN TOWED TO FRANKLIN SUSSEX AUTO MALL (315 ROUTE 23 NORTH, SUSSEX, NJ 07461). THE CODES WERE RESET AND DIAGNOSED THAT THE IGNITION SWITCH HOUSING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO NHTSA. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 139,000.

MY CHRYSLER 300 CUTS OFF WHILE I'M DRIVING. IT DOES THIS WITHOUT WARNING. THE FIRST TIME I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE STREET AND CAME TO A STOP SIGN, I WAS UNABLE TO STEER THE WHEEL EVERYTHING LOCKED EXCEPT FOR THE BRAKES AND GEAR. I HAD A MECHANIC LOOK AT IT AND HAVE HAD THINGS REPLACED ON THE CAR BUT STILL HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. JUST YESTERDAY I WAS ALMOST AT THE LIGHT AND I LOST POWER. I HAD TO ONCE AGAIN HURRY AND PUT IT INTO PARKING AND THEN RESTART THE CAR. THIS ISSUE SCARES ME BECAUSE...

THE ENTIRE DASHBOARD LIGHTS BEGIN TO FLICKER ON AND OFF, LOSE POWER SEEMS CAR IS GOING TO NOT PERFORM. HAS POWER THEN SOMETIMES NO POWER. ABS CONTROL MODULE,, ANTILOCK BRAKE SYSTEM, POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE, FEELS LIKE TRANSMISSION MOMENTARY NO POWER WHILE DRIVING, SEEMS TO SLIP INTO NEUTRAL THEN TO DRIVE. LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL WHEN THIS HAPPENS. THESE CAR ACTIONS SERIOUSLY PUTS MEIN UNSAFE VEHICLE MY MOM, MY GRAND KIDS IN DANGER. AND IN DANGER. THE LAST TIME OF THE OCCURRENCE WAS 11/09/2015 IN THE MORNING DURING RUSH HOUR TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 15MPH.

WHEN THE CONTACT RETURNED TO THE VEHICLE, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED AND THE KEY WOULD NOT TURN OVER TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE GEARS WERE ALSO ABLE TO SHIFT WITHOUT APPLYING THE BRAKE PEDAL. THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME I HAVE EVER USED MY CRUISE CONTROL SINCE I HAVE OWNED MY CAR. I WAS TRAVELING ON A FREEWAY; ALL OF A SUDDEN MY CAR STARTED TO LOSE CONTROL. THIS IS MY SECOND COMPLAINT ON THIS VEHICLE AND IT'S BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR ANOTHER REPAIR AGAIN. I TOOK IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP ON 5/16/15 BECAUSE THE AIR CONDITION WOULD COOL FOR A LITTLE WHILE AND STOP. THEN AFTER ABOUT 20 MINS LATER IT WOULD START COOLING AGAIN. THE DIAGNOSED WAS THEY WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE BOTH THE POWER DISTRIBUTION CENTER AND FRONT CONTROL MODULE. MY TOTAL PARTS COST WAS $889.00. MY TOTAL COST WITH LABOR AND OUT THE DOOR COST WAS $1440.81. MY CAR STAY IN THE SHOP UNTIL YESTERDAY 5/26/15 FOR THEM TO COMPLETE THE REPAIR. I DRIVE IT TO THE CAR WASH AND HOME. THIS MORNING 5/27/15 I DROVE IT APPROXIMATELY 2 MILES AND IT STOPPED ACCELERATION. I HAD IT TOWED BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. AFTER THE LAST PROBLEM I HAD, I STARTED READING ALL THE OTHER CONSUMERS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS CAR. I WAS AMAZED BECAUSE...

I BOUGHT THIS 2007 CHRYSLER 300 IN 2008. IT HAD APPROXIMATELY 86,000 MILES ON IT. BEFORE IT REACHED 100,000 MILES THE PROBLEMS HAD ALREADY STARTED. FIRST THE ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS AND ANOTHER LIGHT LOCATED ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF MY PANEL CAME ON. MY CAR WAS LOCKING ME OUT AT ANY MOMENT. FIRST I THOUGHT IT MIGHT HAVE BEEN MY FAULT BUT IT HAPPENED TWICE TO ME WHILE MY CAR WAS RUNNING AND MY KEYS IN THE IGNITION!! I WAS TOLD THAT THERE IS NO SAFETY ISSUE, BUT I NOTICED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON MY MAKE AND YEAR BUT I MISSED THE RECALL BY A MONTH. AND SINCE THIS IS SO, DID THEY FIX THE PROBLEM WITH THE MANUFACTURER? ALSO, I WILL HAVE TO HAD TO FIX MY INTERLOCK SHIFT NOW FOR THE SECOND TIME IN TWO YEARS COME THIS THURSDAY. I AM WORRIED ABOUT NOT BEING ABLE TO GET MY CAR OUT OF PARK AND MOVE OUT OF THE WAY IN AN EMERGENCY. HAD TO MOVE CAR OFF BLOCK DUE TO STREET REPAIRS BEGINNING. WHEN I WENT TO DRIVE IT TO WORK, CAR WILL NOT GO OUT OF PARK POSITION. ALSO, IN 2009, I TOOK CAR TO DEALER ON KIRKWOOD HWY IN WILMINGTON, DE. I TOLD THEM THAT WHEN THE CAR GOES ABOVE 60 MPH, THE ESC LIGHT COMES ON, CAR SLOWS DOWN TO AN EXACT STOP. THIS HAPPENS...AS YOU GUESS IT....IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. DEALER SAYS THEY HAVEN'T EXPERIENCED IT, IN MY CAR AND THROUGH ANY COMPLAINTS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE KEY WOULD NOT TURN IN ANY DIRECTION WHEN INSERTED INTO THE IGNITION SWITCH. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE IGNITION HOUSING WAS REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
EVERYTIME I FILL UP MY FUEL TANK OR EVEN PUT MAYBE ABOUT $30 WORTH OF FUEL IN MY CAR IT RANDOMLY STALLS OUT WHILE DRIVING. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES AND HAS BEEN DANGEROUS. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON FOR P1004 CEL"INTAKE SHORT RUNNER CONTROL VALVE ACTUATOR, A TSB IS LISTED AS CHRYSLER KNOWINGLY ACKNOWLEDGES A FAULTY PART AND HAS ISSUED A TSB REPAIR COST APPROX $2000 FOR A KNOW DEFECTIVE ACTUATOR THAT MAY BE STUCK DUE TO A POOR DESIGN, WILL NOT PASS CALIFORNIA EMISSIONS DUE TO CEL CHRYSLER WILL NOT HONOR UNDER WARRANTY THAT EXPIRED IN JULY, ATTEMPTED TO GET REPAIRED AT DEALER WAS DENIED SAID WAS NOT COVERED, SHOULD HAVE BEEN REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY, OR AT LEAST EMISSIONS WARRANTY THAT IS 7 YEARS OR 100000 MILES FROM MY UNDERSTANDING. THE SHIFTER IN MY VEHICLE HAS AN INTERLOCK LATCH THAT ISN'T PART OF A RECALL. THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE SAME MAKE AND MODEL OF CARS THAT WERE MADE AFTER MINE. GEAR SHIFT WOULD NOT MOVE FROM PARK TO DRIVE-VEHICLE HAS LESS THAN 30,000 MILES FOR THIS SAFETY SWITCH TO ALREADY MALFUNCTION. *TR
