The contact owns a 2018 Chevrolet Suburban. The contact stated that on several occasions, while the vehicle was parked and running, or while driving at undisclosed speeds, the vehicle lost motive power. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the battery cable and ignition switch were replaced; however, the failure persisted. The dealer informed the contact that the vehicle was unsafe to drive; however, the failure could not be duplicated. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 208,257.
I've taken this SUV to the Chevy dealership 4 times now for the same issue. SUV will not start at times then starts, it will even turn off on the road without warning. New Battery and Chevy can not find out issues $500.00 later. The brake pedal becomes hard to push down, and it will not start: wait 10 mins or so and it will start. Even the remote start at times will not work. Chevy has had it for 30 days at a time and I'm being told to bring it back when it happens, how do I that!
My vehicle completely shuts off while driving. All of the components on the dash and even my steering wheel moves into the prestarted vehicle position. It has happened 3 times in the past week now. One particular instance, I was on the highway and thankfully it came back on immediately before completely stopping but shutting off while driving 65mph is so dangerous.
Vehicle first start sometimes when pushing the start stop button. Dash illuminates but then goes black as if no power. P129D code appears after being able to start.
The Trailor brake system, engine light, stabilitrak control system and antilock brake system is on due to the wiring of this vehicle.
TECHNICIAN - Was unable to perform test drive of vehicle. Inspected operation & found; Vehicle will not turn over, battery very weak. Removed battery, put on charger for approximately 45 minutes. Reinstalled battery. Vehicle had power but did not start. Was unable to get shifter into neutral. Found engine still not turning over. Found starter motor making clicking sounds. Got to turn over once but was very labored, but did not start. Disconnected shift cable at transmission and rolled vehicle into shop for diagnostic. - Scanned computer control modules & found; Approximately 30 codes total in multiple modules, with high and low voltage codes. - Inspected & found; Performed basic electrical faulty tracing. Performed battery test, voltage was low at 16%.Battery(new FY22) failed load test. Found starter making "thunking and clicking" sounds. Unable to move shift lever out of park position. Let battery charge an additional 1 hour and found...
While slowing down to make a left hand turn at an intersection, my vehicle suddenly lost power steering and the entire system completely shut down. There was no electronic function during that time. I had to put the vehicle in park, turn the key to the off position and then start it back up. It has happened multiple times, both at low speeds in drive and reverse. This would have caused a collision if there was oncoming traffic at the intersection at that time.
While driving the vehicle lost all power and after about 20 seconds power came back on. The repair was the battery cables which was apparently very common on the make and model of vehicle. It's unsafe and can cause an accident and apparently happens on the majority of vehicles same year and make.
Trailer Brake system Service Message Took it to the dealer service department and was told that a diagnostic would be needed to find problem $225, if the wiring harness is indeed defective it would be over $500 in parts and $600 in labor. A picture of the light coming on while driving was produced to the dealer service department. It first appear when driving on the freeway and we have never towed anything with this vehicle. Upon further online research we found out that this is a common and serious problem with GMC and Chevy vehicles like the Canyon, Sierra, Silverado, Yukon, Tahoe, Suburban, Colorado from years 2015-2020.
Car has been at dealer 3 times for Wi-Fi issue. Mechanic took car home for longer drive to check. No found issues. Brought in for small noise that comes and goes. They Came back saying $10000 for cam shaft and lifters they are assuming.
MY DOORS LOCK WITH THE CAR WITH THE KEYS IN THE CAR, MY KIDS WERE IN MY CAR AND I GOT LOCKED OUT WITH MY KEYS IN IT, THERE WAS A BATTERY REPLACEMENT DONE WHEN I TOOK MY CAR IN FOR A RECALL NOTICE A MONTH AGO (MAYBE 2 MONTHS), ALSO THE LOCK BUTTON WORKS BUT WHEN I PUSH THE MIDDLE BUTTON IT WILL NOT AUTO START , WHEN I PUSH THE BUTTON ON THE HANDLE OUTSIDE THE CAR DOOR IT WILL NOT UNLOCK,& MY CAR WILL TELL ME THAT MY REMOTE ISN'T DETECTED WHEN THE KEYS ARE IN THE CAR. I WAS AT HOME WHEN IT LOCKED WITH MY KIDS IN THE CAR I PUT THEM IN THE CAR AND I WALKED AROUND TO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE CAR AND IT LOCKED THAT QUICKLY IN MY DRIVEWAY AT HOME NOT EVEN RUNNING NOT MOVING.
THE STABILITY TRACK LIGHTS KEEPS COMING ON AND OFF. DEALER CAN'T SEEM TO FIND OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. IT DOES NOT LEAVE A CODE IN ORDER TO FIND OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. WHEN THE LIGHT COMES ON IT AFFECTS THE CRUISE CONTROL AND STEERING ASSIST. THIS OCCURS WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. IT DOESN'T MATTER IF YOU ARE ON A CITY STREET OR HIGHWAY.
CAR BRAKES ON ITS OWN WHEN GOING ABOVE 40 MPH CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO PULL TO ONE SIDE.
