THESE HEADLAMPS FAIL TO CONFORM TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 108, "LAMPS, REFLECTIVE DEVICES, AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT." Defect: ON CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH ELECTRONIC COLUMN LOCK SYSTEMS (ECL), WHEN THE IGNITION SWITCH IS TURNED TO "LOCK," THE ECL SYSTEM PREVENTS TURNING OF THE STEERING SYSTEM. Car was recalled for this problem twice (2004 and 2006) My car was only included in 2004 recall, not the 2006 recall My car currently has 15,524 miles for an average of 675miles per year At time of 2004 recall my car had approx 2700 miles At time of 2006 recall my car had approx 4050 miles The failure of the ECLS is a prevalent problem in the 2000 Corvette I never had a problem until June 2023 I was told by Chevrolet that this could happen again I am under the understanding from my research the ECLS could fail while driving I want My car properly repaired to avoid a possible future catastrophe and to be reimbursed for towing and repairs
