The transmission is starting to shutter at high speeds and not shift as intended.

The contact's husband owned a 2019 Chevrolet Colorado. The contact stated that while her husband was driving and she was a passenger, their vehicle shuddered and then lost power at approximately 55 MPH. The vehicle was guided to the side of the road, where the contact and her husband noticed smoke emerging near the gear shift. For safety reasons, they both exited the vehicle and moved away from it. The contact then observed flames appearing between the driver's side of the cab and the bed of the vehicle, which quickly burst into flames. Another motorist attempted to extinguish the fire with an extinguisher, but it ran out before the fire could be contained, and the vehicle became fully engulfed in flames. Although the police were called, a formal report was not filed. The fire department arrived and extinguished the fire. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure...

No warning lights or messages or anything. Blown head gasket and a large amount of coolant in the oil. I have an appointment to take it to a dealership the end of this week

My 2019 Chevrolet Colorado, equipped with the 3.6L LGZ engine, recently triggered a P0024 diagnostic trouble code. This code indicates a failure of the Bank 2 exhaust camshaft position actuator solenoid, a critical part of the variable valve timing (VVT) system. After researching, I discovered that General Motors has issued Special Coverage N232430470 for this exact issue on the 2020 Chevrolet Colorado, which uses the same LGZ engine and solenoid system. Despite the identical failure and engine design, my vehicle is not currently included in the coverage. I believe this reflects a systemic defect that affects multiple model years — not just 2020 — and that GM is choosing to limit coverage unfairly. This failure can result in check engine warnings, drivability issues, reduced fuel economy, and possibly emissions system non-compliance. I am requesting NHTSA to investigate whether this VVT solenoid issue warrants a broader recall or special coverage extension...

Engine Light turned on. Fan keeps running for 10-15 minutes after truck is turned off. Went to two different mechanics and it is a thermostat problem. Temperature sensor and thermostat both have gone bad in under 5 years. They have told me it is not a good design and now parts are in back order. This needs a recall.

I purchased my 2019 Chevy Colorado Z71 new in Feb 2019 from a dealership. About two years ago I began having shifting issues from 1st to 2nd gear, it would shudder and seem almost stuck, this would only occur infrequently. Right after I hit 100,000 miles (about a year ago) I have had nothing but issues with the 8 speed transmission, my vehicle is unable to shift from 1st to 2nd without having the shudder occur, it feels like the whole truck is shaking and loses power at acceleration. I took it in for their recommended "service bulletin" which was something that I had to locate myself because GM has not once communicated about there being any kind of shudder issue and they performed a simple flush of the transmission, not the service bulletin recommendation of three flushes and a different fluid. My truck is now in the shop because...

This truck has roughly 41000 miles on it. As I was driving home from work on [XXX], I heard a faint noise and then my truck just lost power and died on the freeway. There were no engine warning lights on and did not want to restart and stay running. After a few times of starting and dying the message on the dash said keep driving engine is in regen. This is a diesel truck and the newer ones have a regeneration that is done with DEF. I was unable to get it off onto the exit, but did get it off the roadway. The vehicle was towed into the shop on February 3rd, 2024. The shop had to order parts and said that it was just a faulty part. I received the truck back on March 14th. I drove it home from the shop and to work for two...

The High Pressure Fuel Pump detached from engine and snapped off flange and bolt in the head of engine . The part is available for inspection and was removed by dealership. Vehicle was being driven at highway speed at time of failure. Narrowly avoided an accident as truck lost power and went into limp mode. There was no prior warning leading up to failure.

We purchased a 2019 Chevrolet Colorado December 2022. Beginning in January 2023 to current month July 2023 the vehicle has been at the dealership 4 times for the same occurrence: SERVICE STABILITRAK and ENGINE POWER IS REDUCED A warning “ding” sounds (the same noise as seatbelt, door ajar, etc) simultaneously with the messages “SERVICE STABILITRAK” and “ENGINE POWER IS REDUCED” The vehicle immediately is jerking or lurching, the engine no longer runs smoothly and is misfiring. The engine power reduced does not allow safe acceleration, and the vehicle is unstable (as it moves it feels like driving over a thousand speed bumps over and over), the engine misfiring is heard from the exhaust and the vehicle is visibly vibrating, on acceleration the maximum speed is 20 mph. All 4 times this has happened while driving the vehicle on highways in traffic. We are left unable to get out of the...

Thermostat malfunction. Part was nearly impossible to locate. Was without transportation for 5 days. Replacing a thermostat on a 2019 Chevy Colorado is now a major repair. The total cost was in excess of $1100. The vehicle only has 34,800 miles on it.

Ignition Key Cannot Be Removed and / or Does Not Rotate to the Off Position. This has been going on for about a year and I have taken it to the dealer 3 times and they are unable to fix the issue. I have searched online and there are many Chevy Colorado owners facing this issue. https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/Discussion-t58416_ds944027

As I went around a turn (low speed), the truck lost power steering for about a half of a second. It came back online right away, but caused me to take the turn poorly. At the same time, the engine shut down and all of the lights on the dash went out. I stopped the vehicle, put it in park and restarted the vehicle. Everything then worked as if nothing was wrong. There are not any warning lights. It was as if someone simply turned off the ignition for a minute.

Key gets stuck in ignition when shutting engine off leaving driver stranded and stuck with vehicle until key releases from ignition. No warning lights.

SINCE SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE NEW, I HAVE EXPERIENCED HARD SHIFTING, SLIPPING WHEN ACCELERATING, ALSO EXPERIENCE ROUGH IDLE AT TIMES.I HAVE HAD THE TORQUE CONVERTER REPLACED BUT I STILL HA E THE PROBLEM. I'VE EVEN HAD THE SERVICE MANAGER RIDE WITH ME AND HE STATED HE EXPERIENCED THE LUGGING SENSATION, AND SAID IT'S NORMAL, THEY STILL DID NOTHING TO HELP ME, AND THIS IS NOTED ON THEIR SERVICE RECORD! THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP SEVERAL TIMES FOR THE SAME ISSUE, AND I GET THE SAME ANSWER AS THEY FIND NOTHING WRONG.
