The contact's sister-in law owns a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 3500. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 60 MPH, the check engine warning illuminated, and the vehicle lost automotive power. The contact stated that his sister-in-law had also experienced the failure while driving. The contact was able to drive the vehicle back to the residence of the owner. The transmission was shifted to park(P) and the vehicle was turned off. The vehicle was restarted and shifted to drive(D); however, the vehicle failed to respond. There was an abnormal clunking and clicking sound coming from the rear end of the vehicle. The contact, a certified mechanic, scanned the vehicle and retrieved DTC: P70747 – (Valve Body Solenoid 1 stuck in ON position). The contact stated that the vehicle failed to respond while shifting into drive(D) and the accelerator pedal depressed. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA...

The vehicle was then taken to the dealer, and the contact was informed that there were metal shavings inside the transmission. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 105,000.
