ALL recalls and updates (including the NHTSA steering rebuild kit, and the fender kit) have been performed on this vehicle, yet it has a persistent issue. The vehicle stability system engages with zero warning and at any speed and road condition. This immediately restricts the RPM to 5200 maximum, or approximately 57mph on a flat, 54 on an incline, 60 on a downhill. I have nearly lost my life due to it kicking in: -on the onramp to the highway with 80mph traffic behind me and having to immediately dodge and weave to the shoulder -in a sloping turn and the sudden change in vehicle performance nearly threw me off the bike at 50mph This condition cannot be reset without specialized software and hardware that is cost prohibitive to purchase as a consumer. It has also kicked in -just driving home on a straightaway, at 45mph -after making a legal,...

During left-hand curves, even at slow controled speeds, the vehicle decreases engine power and the brakes begin to pulse. Eventually, the vehicles engine light illuminates, throws trouble codes for the VSS (VEHICLE STABILITY SYSTEM), and goes into "limp mode", which gives the vehicle a limited amout of power and speed, in order to be able to reach home or service center. Dealership techs were able to reproduce these symptoms on test rides. First attempt at repair was the changing of the YAW sensor. The second attempt of repair was a bearing and bushing replacement repair kit in the pitman arm housing of the steering system. The third attempt of repair was to reprogram the steering angle sensor. It is currently back at the dealership for the ongoing problem of power loss and braking during left hand curves. This is a hazard to the operator of the vehicle and motorists in...

i was told that my ryker was safe to drive in to have the recall work completed and then my vehichle quit working because of the damage to the vehichle. i dont understand why the burdan to have my vehichle repaired is on me. I was told that thier roadside assistance would only cover a small percentage of the cost to have the vehichle towed and i would owe $745 just to get my vehichle to the dealer. If there is a known risk for the vehichle part to malfunction and lose power and not be able to start, then how is this considered safe to drive 100+ miles to the nearest dealer? The vehichle should have been immediately hauled in at the manufacturers expense to have the work done instead of leaving me stranded now without a means of transortation to get to work.

BRP's Vehicle Stability System (VSS) engages randomly on left turns, cutting engine power, applying braking, and temporary stalling around curves at normal driving speeds. This situation is a serious driving hazard as may suddenly jerk erratically, causing temporary loss of control of vehicile. This has happened on several occassions, and is a known problem to BRP. Ryker will lose power during a turn, causing vehicles behind to brake to avoid a collision, the bike will jerk and shake erratically, as brakes are being applied, then lunges forward when the VSS system disengages and normal power is restored. I almost got rear-ended by a large truck. This Ryker is NOT safe to drive. Has been taking to the dealer five times to try and fix the problem but so far it persists. Dealer clamis that Can-Am (BRP) has not been very helpful in resovling problem. This is a design or manufacturing...

I bought the bike new and it is all stock, no addtl electrical additions. I was riding the bike had gone approx 35 miles the 1st & 2nd time and l was on a highway all of a sudden my bike lost power. It dropped speed from 65mph to under 40mph & my dash started to read VSS FAULT LIMP HOME..... I was almost hit multiple times by traffic coming up on me at higher speeds & bcz the bike has no emergency flashers l was almost struck. There were no service roads on HWY 380 East from Decatur, TX back to Denton, TX. So l was forced to ride on a hwy at 35-40mph w no hazards. I took it in to the dealership in Denton,TX at Freedom Powersports 2 days later the tech tells me it was maybe a brake fuse code. The bike was less than a...

On sweeping left turns the rear tire shudders and skips across the road. Dealership reset YAW rate sensor and adjusted front steering rack. This corrected the issue for a day. The online forums for Can Am Rykers show numerous complaints about this specific issue but dealerships and Can Am state there is no issue and don't have a long term correction for the issue. It seems that the YAW rate sensor is triggered due to loose front end steering components. The technical service bulletin provided to dealers is Ryker YAW rate -SAS Sensor Faults 137209. The bike is unsafe and Can Am knows about the issue but will not issue a recall.
