TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 CADILLAC DEVILLE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE WAS LEAKING BATTERY ACID. AS A RESULT, THE REAR AXLE DETACHED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 177,000.

I PURCHASED MY CAR FROM LOCKHART CADILLAC IN INDIANAPOLIS, IN. ABOUT ONE WEEK LATER I BEGAN TO HAVE A GRINDING SOUND EACH TIME I TURNED THE STEERING WHEEL LEFT OR RIGHT. I HAVE TAKEN IN FOR REPAIR SEVERAL TIMES. IN SEPTEMBER 2001, IN ADDITION TO THE GRINDING SOUND WHEN TURNING THE WHEEL, MY CAR NOW SLOWS DOWN WHEN I TURN. ALSO IT HAS NOW BEGUN TO MAKE THE SAME SOUND WHEN I BACK UP. BOTH LOCKHART CADILLAC IN INDIANAPOLIS AND VAL WARD IN FT. MYERS, FLORIDA HAVE TOLD ME THAT CADILLAC IS WORKING ON IT.
