I BACKED OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY AND PROCEEDED DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG EXPLODED ON MY WIFE'S ARM. I AM AFRAID THAT IT WILL HAPPEN ON THE DRIVERS SIDE WHILE DRIVING. WHAT SHOULD I DO FOR SAFETY SAKE? *TR
I OWN A 1997 CADILLAC DEVILLE. MY AIR BAG SENSOR HAS BEEN COMING ON AND GOING OFF ON MY INSTRUMENT PANEL FOR THE LAST FEW MONTHS. I HAVE HAD THE CAR CHECKED SEVERAL TIMES AND I WAS TOLD THE SENSOR WAS DEFECTIVE. THIS IS FOR THE AIR BAG ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR. TODAY 2/24/12 THE AIR BAG DEPLOYED AS I WAS ABOUT TO BACK OUT OF MY DRIVE WAY. MY CURRENT MILEAGE IS 94,000 MILES. I AM ALSO HAVING TROUBLES WITH HAVING TO PRESS MY BRAKES ALMOST TO THE FLOOR FOR THE CAR TO STOP. *TR

CONSUMER STATES THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 72 MPH IN LIGHT RAIN THE VEHICLE STARTED TO SPIN AND RUN OFF THE ROAD AND RAN INTO A TREE AND NONE OF THE SIDE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AT ALL. CONTACTED DEALER AND THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE ACT CORRECTLY. NLM
