The airbag lights on and there is an electrical issue also that causes the car to smoke and nearly catch fire, as soon as the battery is reconnected. Therefore rendering it non drivable. It's the same problems that are associated with the 2006 Lucern,s. When i look up the year make and model it says there should be a recall but once you put in the vin it nothing comes up.The vehicle is readily available upon request but has not been inspected by anyone else.
I have 2006 buick lucerne.i paid over 800 dollars get brakes fixed.now they saying messed up again power steering messed up.the front passenger side where tire hits bump makes nise like strut.power steering fluid leaking brake fliud leaking.air bags.
My power steering went out so my mechanic checked it out and said my pump went out so I bought a new power steering pump and pulley had it put on and that didn't fix the problem. The next day I went out of town to visit family and my car caught on fire due to the power steering fluid leaked all out on the motor and got hot enough to catch on fire. then my ignition stoped going all the way in park so I would have to disconect my battery cables so that it wouldn't run my battery down. The car wouldn't go all the way up in park making the ignition key wouldn't turn back far enough to shut my car off and lights
I have a 2006 buick lucerne that loses power randomly as I'm driving whether its pulling outbjnto traffic, which could cause injuries possibly even death, or maintain a certain speed for any amount of time , it just randomly loses power and wont go for however long until it starts to accelerate again . Also if I'm at a red light or stopped waiting to pull out somewhere , although I have my foot on the break, my car begins to accelerate and almost pulling me out into traffic. I have a service engine light and the code reads h02s heating control circuit sensor but I've yet to have it inspected because there isn't a recall for my car on that problem even though I've heard and read many complaints with the same or similar issues
INTERMITTENT FAILURE OF WINDSCREEN WIPERS ON A RANDOM BASIS
CAR DRAINS MY BATTERY AND IT MESSED UP MY ALTERNATOR. I REPLACED BOTH AND ONCE AGAIN MY BATTERY KEEPS BEING DRAINED. I TOOK IT TO THE SHOP AND THE MECHANIC RAN A DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND ABOUT 10 CODES POPPED UP SAYING ELECTRICAL PROBLEM. OTHER MODELS OF THIS BUICK HAS BEEN RECALLED FOR THE SAME ELECTRICAL PROBLEM. IL DRIVE MY CAR AND IT WILL COMPLETELY CUT OFF ON ME AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. IL FIND MY PAPER WORK FROM THE MECHANIC IF NEEDED. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR MONTHS NOW. IT DIDNT HAPPEN JUST ONCE. SO I CANT DRIVE THE CAR UNTIL ITS FIXED.
PERIODICALLY AT CRUISING SPEED OF 50 TO 60 MILES AN HOUR, SPEEDOMETER WILL FLUCTUATE WILDLY BETWEEN 25 AND 40 MPH. WHEN IT DOES THIS TRANSMISSION DOES NOT KNOW WHAT GEAR TO BE IN, AND IN THE EVENT THAT THE SPEEDOMETER NEEDLE GOES ALL THE WAY TO ZERO, IT WILL NOT ENGAGE WHEN YOU PRESS THE GAS PEDAL EVEN IF YOU'RE IN GEAR, ONLY THING YOU CAN DO IS PULL OFF AND SHUT IT DOWN AND WAIT SEVERAL SECONDS TO A FEW MINUTES FOR IT TO ENGAGE ONCE AGAIN WHEN YOU START IT BACK UP. FLOW GM AUTO CENTER OF WINSTON-SALEM (1400 S STRATFORD RD, WINSTON-SALEM, NC 27103, (336) 937-9049) INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY MANUFACTURER RECALLS FOR THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. THE CONTACT FELT THAT IF THE OEM SWITCH AND KEY WERE REPLACED WITH THE SAME PART, THE FAILURE MAY CONTINUE WITHOUT A NEWLY DESIGNED OEM IGNITION SWITCH AND KEY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND EXPECTED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIRS. MY ALTENATOR STOPPED WORKING AND AFTER IT WAS REPLACED MY FUSE BOX WOULD NOT READ NOR WOULD MY CAR CRANK. SO I HAD IT TOWED TO A BUICK DEALERSHIP WHERE I THOUGHT ALL OF MY PROBLEMS WOULD BE SOLVED. THEY REPLACE MY FUSE BOX WITH A USED ONE BECAUSE THE BOX HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED THIS WAS IN APRIL 2017 IT IS NOW MAY 2017 AND I'VE HAD A DIAGNOSTIC TES RAN ON IT BECAUSE MY FANS STOPPED WORKING CAUSING MY NOTHSTAR MOTOR TO OVERHEAT. THE DIAGNOSTIC DETERMINED THAT FUSE BOX IS WHAT'S CAUSING ALL OF MY PROBLEMS. EVERY CODE LED STRAIGHT TO THAT SAME FUSE BOX. MY VEHICHEL WAS ON AND STATIONARY WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN MY POWER STEERING CONNECTOR CRACKED AND ALL OF MY FLUIDS STARTED TO LEAK OUT FROM A RESULT OF OVERHEATING AND THE CONNECTORS BEING MADE OF PLASTIC AND BASICALLY WEARING FROM THE HEAT.
I REPLACED MY SENSOR AND MY THERMOSTAT BECAUSE THE DASHBOARD SAID THE CAR WAS OVERHEATING AFTER REPLACING IT THE DASHBOARD CONTINUES TO SAY THE CAR IS OVERHEATING. IT'S DOING IT WHILE DRIVING ON PUBLIC STREET AND HIGHWAYS
HEATED/COOLED SEATS STOPPED WORKING. BUTTON ON DOOR LIGHTS UP LIKE THEY ARE ON, BUT THE HEAT/COOL DOES NOT ACTUALLY TURN ON. TURNS OUT PROBLEM IS WITH CONNECTOR AT CONTROL MODULE UNDER PASSENGER SEAT. CONNECTOR IS PARTIALLY MELTED WITH BLACK BURN MARKS. THIS ISSUE APPEARS TO BE COMMON ON NUMEROUS GM VEHICLES (BUICK LUCERNE, CADILLAC DTS, ETC...) FUSE DOES NOT BLOW, POSSIBLE FIRE ISSUE?

I AM WRITING IN REGARDS TO THE GM RECALL #14299. IGNITION ISSUE. WE RECEIVED A LETTER FROM BUICK/GM THE END OF SEPTEMBER. I CALLED THE LOCAL BUICK GMC DEALER TO SET UP AN APPT TO GET IT FIXED, AND SHE SAID I WOULD HAVE TO CALL BACK IN 2-3 WEEKS BECAUSE THE PARTS WERE BACKORDERED. LAST WEEK ON THE NATIONAL NEWS GM WAS COMPLAINING BECAUSE PEOPLE WEREN'T GETTING THIS PROBLEM TAKEN CARE OF AND THEY WANTED TO OFFER GIFT CARDS. I CALLED THE LOCAL DEALER AGAIN AND NOW THE PARTS ARE IN BUT THEY ARE BOOKED UNTIL DECEMBER 15 OF THIS YEAR BECAUSE NOW EVERYONE WANTS TO GET THEIR VEHICLES FIXED. SO I HAVE TO GO A LITTLE OVER ANOTHER MONTH BEFORE I CAN GET THIS FIXED? NOT REAL HAPPY ABOUT HOW THIS WAS HANDLED. I LOST ENGINE POWER AS I WAS DRIVING ON I75 APPROXIMATELY 16 MILES SOUTH OF VENICE FLORIDA. ONE OF THE TIRES EXPLODED AND THE WHOLE WIRING SYSTEM WAS DESTROYED DUE TO THE TIRE EXPLOSION, AS WELL AS THE BACK BUMPER. MY VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE BUICK DEALER IN VENICE FLORIDA. REPAIR COSTS INCLUDING TOWING AND RENTAL CAR FOR THE PERIOD MY VEHICLE WAS BEING REPAIRED ELEVATED TO APPROXIMATELY $1600.00. THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE REPLACEMENT OF THE BACK BUMPER WHICH WOULD COST AN ADDITIONAL $1400.00 PER BUICK'S QUOTE. I WAS INFORMED OF A RECALL BY BUICK DUE TO THE EXACT REASONS THAT LED TO MY ACCIDENT AND RELATED COSTS. CONTROL MODULE FAILED AS I ENTERED THE DRIVEWAY, INTO MY GARAGE. THE KEY COULD NOT BE REMOVED. DIRECTIONAL CONTROL WAS LOST AND THE ENGINE WOULD NOT TURN OFF. THE BATTERY HAD TO BE DISCONNECTED TO TURN OFF THE ENGINE. THE KEY SWITCH FAILED ONCE BEFORE, WHEN THE TUMBLER WITHIN THE IGNITION SWITCH STUCK OPEN WHEN THE KEY WAS REMOVED; BUT THE IGNITION CIRCUIT REMAINED OPEN. CONSEQUENTLY, THE BATTERY WENT DEAD. BUICK SERVICE DIAGNOSED THE FAILED SWITCH, AND DETERMINED THE SWITCH TUMBLER HAD STUCK IN THE ON POSITION. THE PROBLEM WAS CORRECTED BY LUBRICATING THE KEY SWITCH INTERNALLY...UPDATED 10/22/14 *BF

IN ADDITION, THE ENTIRE INSTRUMENT PANEL WAS ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. THE CONTACT WAS AWARE OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V355000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); HOWEVER, THE PART NEEDED FOR THE REPAIR WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING WITH ONLY A SINGLE KEY IN THE IGNITION, AS RECOMMENDED, UNTIL THE PARTS BECAME AVAILABLE; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.

THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER STATED THE PART WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED INTERMITTENTLY WHEN STARTED THE VEHICLE WILL INDEPENDENTLY CONTINUE TO CRANK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
I HAVE FILED A PRIOR CLAIM WITH YOU ON THE IGNITION CONTROL MODULE FAILURE. DEALER REPLACED THE ENTIRE MODULE - GM SUBSEQUENTLY ISSUED RECALL FOR BUICKS, ALTHO THEY ARE CLAIMING THE FAILURE HAS TO DO WITH A SLOT/HOLE IN A KEY. I HAD ONLY THE KEY AND THE LOCK FOB ON THE KEY - I DID NOT HAVE LOTS OF KEYS AND OTHER ACCESSORIES LINKED TO MY KEY, NOR DID I HIT A POTHOLE OR ANYTHING JARRING. THE CAR JUST DIED, NO BRAKES, STEERING, UNABLE TO RESTART THE CAR AND I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED. I WAS FORTUNATE THAT IT WAS AT A LOW SPEED AND NOT 65 MPH ON A HIGHWAY. THIS REPAIR COST ME $939 DOLLARS. LETTER FROM SENATOR NELSON ON BEHALF OF CONSTITUENT RE 2006 BUICK LUCERNE IGNITION SWITCH. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY, HE HIT A LARGE POTHOLE AND THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF. WHEN HE ATTEMPTED TO APPLY THE ACCELERATOR, NOTHING HAPPENED. HE DECIDED TO PULL OVER, AND AT THAT POINT, HE REALIZED HE HAD NO POWER STEERING, THEN HE REALIZED HE HAD NO BRAKES TO STOP THE VEHICLE. HE FINALLY STOPPED THE VEHICLE AND WAS ABLE TO RE-START IT, WITH NO PROBLEM. WHEN THE CONSUMER CALLED THE DEALER, HE WAS INFORMED, HIS VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE IGNITION RECALL. *JB
CAR DIED WHILE DRIVING IT. LOST POWER STEERING AND BRAKES. HAD CAR TOWED TO DEALER. IT WAS DIAGNOSED AS HAVING A FAULTY IGNITION MODULE. I WAS LUCKY I WAS NOT ON A HIGHWAY AT HIGH SPEED. GIVEN THE COMPANY RECALLS ON IGNITION PARTS ON OTHER NAME PLATES, IT IS LIKELY THAT THE BUICK'S ARE ALSO SEEING IGNITION PROBLEMS AND FAILURES BUT GM HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL FOR THIS CAR PLATFORM. 2006 LUCERNE SUDDENLY LEFT CITY ROADWAY FOR NO APPARENT REASON. LUCERNE COLLIDED WITH TWO TELEPHONE POLES POSITIONED NEXT TO EACH OTHER. DELTA V OF COLLISION BETWEEN 22 AND 25 MPH. POLE TO DRIVER SIDE FRAME IMPACT WITH DRIVER SIDE FRONT WHEEL PUSHED INTO DRIVER FLOOR BOARD SO FLOOR PUSHED AGAINST BRAKE PEDAL POST COLLISION. NO AIRBAG DEPLOYED. PDOF WAS NEAR STRAIGHT AHEAD OR 12 O'CLOCK. DRIVER BELT SPOOLED OUT ALLOWING DRIVER'S HEAD TO SIGNIFICANTLY DEFORM THE UPPER STEERING WHEEL RIM. DRIVER BELT CUT A NOTCH IN THE B-PILLAR TRIM EXITING THE D-RING HOLE. GM LOOKED AT THIS CAR IN LITIGATION AND AGREED THAT THE DRIVER WAS BELTED. DRIVER SUFFERED JAW FRACTURES, RIB FRACTURES AND LUNG INJURY. DRIVER DIED OF COLLISION RELATED INJURIES 6 MONTHS POST COLLISION.
