Defect: BMW of North America, LLC (BMW) is recalling certain model year 2008-2013 128i and 135i coupes and convertibles and 1 Series M coupes, 2006-2011 325i, 325xi, 328i, 328xi, 328i xDrive, 330i, 330xi, 335i, 335xi, 335i xDrive Sedans, 2009-2011 335d sedans, 2006-2012 325xiT, 328i and 328xi sports wagons, 2007-2013 328i, 328xi, 328i xDrive, 335i, 335xi, 335i xDrive, 335is and M3 Coupes...
Consequence: In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the driver's frontal air bag, the inflator could rupture with metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants resulting in serious injury or death.
Remedy: BMW will notify owners, and dealers will replace the driver's frontal air bag module or inflator depending on the vehicle model, free of charge. The recall began March 9, 2018. Owners may contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417.

EGR COOLER IS LEAKING AND FUMES ARE GETTING INTO CABIN, IT HAS DISABLED THE ABS AND TRACTION CONTROLS ALSO CRUISE CONTROL! THE FAULT CAME JUST BEYOND THE FACTORY WARRANTY OF 50,000 MILES 4 YEAR. I READY ABOUT YOUR COMPLAINT SERVICE IN A FORUM AND BMW WAS ABLE TO COMPLETE THE NECESSARY REPAIRS FREE OF CHARGE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 BMW 335. WHILE DRIVING AT 5 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED INDEPENDENTLY. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A POLE AND A BUILDING. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT DID NOT SUSTAIN ANY INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE DDE AND DTC MODULES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. EXCESSIVE SOOT AND CARBON BUILD UP IN THE INTAKE MANIFOLD AND INTAKE VALVES OF THE 335D WHICH IS A DIESEL CAR. THIS CAUSES ROUGH IDLING, MISFIRES, AND LOSS OF ENGINE POWER. WHILE MERGING ONTO A HIGHWAY, THE ENGINE MALFUNCTIONED DUE TO THIS PROBLEM AND IMMEDIATELY LOST POWER ALMOST CAUSING A COLLISION. THE VEHICLE HAS HAD THIS PROBLEM FOR MORE THAN 20K MILES AND CONTINUOUS TRIPS TO THE DEALER TO DIAGNOSE. FINALLY, THE DEALER AGREED IT WAS CARBON BUILD UP BUT THAT IT IS NOT COVERED. THE REPAIRS FOR THIS SHOULD BE COVERED BY BMW AS IT IS EMISSIONS RELATED AND CAN CAUSE SIGNIFICANT ENGINE PROBLEMS. THIS HAS NOT BEEN AN ISSUE ON OTHER DIESEL CARS BY OTHER MANUFACTURERS. *TR
