Bulletin Summary
Some 2019-2020 Transit Connect vehicles may exhibit a false overheat condition and illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with DTCs P1299 and/or P0217 present. Prior to any diagnostics, disconnect the generator electrical connector C1558B and generator positive cable C1558A then secure properly for testing. If the concern is no longer present when the electrical connections are removed, replace the generator.
