Bulletin Summary
Some 2023 Transit Connect vehicles built on 24-Apr-2023 and through 02-May-2023 and equipped with a liftgate may experience inoperative two stage unlocking from the remote keyless entry (RKE) transmitter and feature will not change when adjusted in instrument panel cluster (IPC) settings. This may be due to incorrect configuration data in the IPC and body control module (BCM). To correct this condition, download and run the IPC - Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) Configuration and BCM - Body Control Module (BCM) Configuration applications using the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) diagnostic scan tool. For claiming, use causal part 15604 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.
About Technical Service Bulletins
A Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) is a document issued by a vehicle manufacturer to its dealers, describing a known issue with a specific vehicle or set of vehicles and the recommended procedure to fix it. Unlike recalls, TSBs are not mandatory and are typically only performed if an owner reports the related issue. However, TSBs can be an indicator of common problems with a vehicle.
