Bulletin Summary
Some 2018-2020 EcoSport vehicles equipped with a 2.0L engine may exhibit an illuminated MIL and diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P06A7 in the powertrain control module (PCM). This may be caused by a damaged circuit on the 12A581 harness. Inspect the 12A581 harness for possible damage near the right/front strut tower (behind the degas bottle) and a few inches back from connectors C1699 and C1698. If harness damage is not present, continue with normal diagnostics found within the Powertrain Control and Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) Manual.
About Technical Service Bulletins
A Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) is a document issued by a vehicle manufacturer to its dealers, describing a known issue with a specific vehicle or set of vehicles and the recommended procedure to fix it. Unlike recalls, TSBs are not mandatory and are typically only performed if an owner reports the related issue. However, TSBs can be an indicator of common problems with a vehicle.
