Bulletin Summary
Some 2018 Continental vehicles built between 27-Feb-2018 and 06-Jun-2018 may exhibit incorrect operation of the drivers seat easy entry/exit function. With easy entry/exit configured ON, the seat may incorrectly move forward when the ignition is turned OFF. Correct operation is for the drivers seat to move rearward after turning the ignition OFF. To correct this condition, reprogram the driver seat module (DSM) using the latest software level of the appropriate Ford diagnostic scan tool. For claiming use causal part 14C708 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.
About Technical Service Bulletins
A Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) is a document issued by a vehicle manufacturer to its dealers, describing a known issue with a specific vehicle or set of vehicles and the recommended procedure to fix it. Unlike recalls, TSBs are not mandatory and are typically only performed if an owner reports the related issue. However, TSBs can be an indicator of common problems with a vehicle.
