Bulletin Summary
31170 - Service Update. Certain vehicles may have contact between the rear leaf spring shackle bolt and rear HVAC coolant lines that may rub through creating a coolant leak. This leak may cause the engine to overheat, leading to loss of propulsion or loss of HVAC performance. Dealers will replace the shackle bolt; inspect and, if necessary, replace the auxiliary heater hose.
About Technical Service Bulletins
A Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) is a document issued by a vehicle manufacturer to its dealers, describing a known issue with a specific vehicle or set of vehicles and the recommended procedure to fix it. Unlike recalls, TSBs are not mandatory and are typically only performed if an owner reports the related issue. However, TSBs can be an indicator of common problems with a vehicle.
