Bulletin Summary
Oil leak from the input rod: During the machining process of the input rod cylinder, a sharp protrusion was produced. This sharp protrusion scratched the packing seal, resulting in an oil leak. Brake pedal kickback: In some cases, the brake pedal may be depressed beyond the operational limit which will create scars on the end of the plunger inside the booster. The scars cause the oil passage to narrow, resulting in unbalanced pressure. The unbalanced pressure causes a kickback sensation to occur. The kickback sensation does not affect the braking function but could lead to the customer contacting the dealer about a possible brake malfunction.
About Technical Service Bulletins
A Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) is a document issued by a vehicle manufacturer to its dealers, describing a known issue with a specific vehicle or set of vehicles and the recommended procedure to fix it. Unlike recalls, TSBs are not mandatory and are typically only performed if an owner reports the related issue. However, TSBs can be an indicator of common problems with a vehicle.
