Bulletin Summary

SB-16-019 An enhanced fuel cut valve is available to address a potential sticking condition that results in excess residual pressure in the dosing injector (7thinjector) supply pipe. A sticking fuel cut valve may result in the following DTC?s (diagnostic trouble codes) setting: 1. If DTC P0005 (fuel cut valve stuck closed) sets in the engine ECU, replace the fuel cut valve with the part number listed below. 2. If DTC P20DE (pressure sensor performance invalid) or DTC P20DF (pressure sensor signal too low) set in the engine ECU, this could be a result of the fuel cut valve sticking. Follow the workshop manual diagnostic procedure in section 4 of the Hino Workshop Manual (J08E Engine Control System) for the DTC. Also, inspect for signs of fuel contamination that could restrict the fuel filter or bubble separator filter. If no issues are identified with fuel contamination, and the workshop manual procedure does not identify a concern, replace the fuel cut valve with the part number listed below.

About Technical Service Bulletins

A Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) is a document issued by a vehicle manufacturer to its dealers, describing a known issue with a specific vehicle or set of vehicles and the recommended procedure to fix it. Unlike recalls, TSBs are not mandatory and are typically only performed if an owner reports the related issue. However, TSBs can be an indicator of common problems with a vehicle.
