Consumer Description

Transmission failure at 76,000 miles. Vehicle not properly responding coupled with erratic gear behavior when trying to shift gears. Problem was confirmed by Ford dealer Doggett Ford, South Loop, Houston Texas. Diagnosis: Transmission replacement. No warning lights or messages. Problems appeared suddenly and deteriorated quickly. Ford Customer Support was contacted but only offered to pay around $4,000.00 against a $11,000.00 repair estimate by the dealer. How is it possible that these trucks have not been recalled? My internet research in the last month or so since the problem occurred reveals that this is a well known problem with the 10 speed transmission in question. Thank you for your consideration and I look forward to any comments you may have.
