NHTSA Complaint #11703785 — 2020 CHEVROLET CAMARO

The contact owns a 2020 Chevrolet Camaro. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the steering wheel failed to steer in the intended direction. The vehicle twisted and the wheels locked. The vehicle crashed into a concrete curb. The contact stated that the vehicle incurred damage to the front passenger's door, and the front passenger's door panel was detached. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where the contact was informed that the failure was due to an unrepaired recall. In addition, the contact stated that the vehicle had an electrical system failure, and the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle had been taken to the dealer multiple times; however, the repair was unrepaired. The contact stated initially that there were three unrepaired recalls; however, two were repaired. The contact stated that the recall NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V148000 (Power Train) was not performed. The contact was informed that the manufacturer needed to approve the claim. In addition, the contact stated that the vehicle was still at the dealer and had been there for four months. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. In addition, the contact was informed that the dealer was to perform the recall repair. The failure mileage was approximately 56,000.
