NHTSA Complaint #11703019 — 2023 NISSAN ROGUE

On December 3, 2025, while parked in the hospital parking lot, the rear hatch window of my vehicle suddenly shattered without any impact, collision, or outside interference. I approached my vehicle and found the glass completely busted outward. I immediately contacted hospital security. They reviewed the surveillance footage and confirmed the following: No one was near or tampering with the vehicle at the time the window shattered. There was no visible impact, vandalism, or external cause. The video clearly shows the window spontaneously breaking on its own. After leaving the hospital, I contacted the Nissan dealership. They stated they had “never heard of anything like this.” However, after researching online, I found numerous complaints from other owners reporting similar spontaneous rear window failures in Nissan vehicles. This raises concerns that the issue may be related to manufacturing defects, glass stress fractures, faulty hinges, or improper pressure seals. At this point, I am seeking assistance and clarification on how to proceed regarding the repair, warranty coverage, and potential safety defect reporting.
