Consumer Description
Starting in December of 2023 we started to get a engine light that kept coming on and off about every other week. We took the truck to the dealership for a diagnosis and Ford had told us it was an issue with the catalytic convertors throwing an error code. After the third trip into the dealership and a resetting of the code as per Ford they replaced the driver side catalytic convertor. After a few months of no issues the engine light started coming off and on again. This time the driver side was throwing the code this time. We took the truck into Ford and they reset the light. On the second time it came on after going to the dealership we contacted Ford again about the issue and they stated that a computer update was available for our truck and it would recalibrate the truck computer to help with it throwing the code because it was set at a sensitive setting and it was happening nationwide. We had stated to the dealership that Ford had said on the second attempt to fix the problem if it still persisted that they would replace the catalytic convertor. Since then they had registered the incident a third time and still no fix. Since the third visit to a dealership we have had our engine light come on and off multiple times with no help from Ford in fixing the problem and our concern is that our county is starting emissions checks for 2026 and our truck will require an expensive fix to pass emissions at our cost and no help from Ford. We understand that the catalytic convertors are part of the emissions which come with an 80,000 mile federal warranty coverage but are being pushed around with no help insight from Ford. So come December of this year it will be 2yrs since we started having issues with the exhaust system. With the last light coming back on 10/15/25 and it just turn back off 10/28/25. I had tried to upload the pictures showing how many times our light has gone off and on the last 2yrs but it had told us multiple times your site was having an error.
