NHTSA Complaint #11691355 — 2025 HYUNDAI TUCSON HYBRID

My new Hyundai Tucson has less than 5K miles on it and while driving on a fairly empty road the panoramic sunroof exploded for no reason (as we know nothing hit it). Fortunately the screen was closed at the time, but had it been open then glass shards could have entered the car. I often have my grandchildren in car seats with the screen open and this could have caused serious eye damage to them. Hyundai and other manufacturers know this is a common problem but refuse to do anything about it. The local dealer will not cover the repair even though the car is under warranty. When the roof explodes it sounds like a gunshot and we swerved, but fortunately no cars were near us at the time. I can see where this can easily cause accidents.
